  • Patent number: 10122896
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for detect adjunct peripherals, and coordinating their media capabilities (as a preparation to be able to signal their capabilities). The host device and the peripherals can synchronize wall clocks. The system sets up a call (or receive a call) from a remote host device, and requests the peripherals to check for network connectivity to the remote host device (connectivity check). This check can be done by using a STUN/TURN procedure. The system establishes direct connectivity between the peripherals and the remote host device and monitors lip sync by transferring RTCP messages between the host device and the peripherals and instructing display and playback peripherals/sub systems to align lip sync.

  • Patent number: RE46785
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a nonvolatile semiconductor memory device includes a substrate, a stacked body, a semiconductor pillar, a charge storage film, and a drive circuit. The stacked body is provided on the substrate. The stacked body includes a plurality of insulating films alternately stacked with a plurality of electrode films. A through-hole is made in the stacked body to align in a stacking direction. The semiconductor pillar is buried in an interior of the through-hole. The charge storage film is provided between the electrode film and the semiconductor pillar. The drive circuit supplies a potential to the electrode film. The diameter of the through-hole differs by a position in the stacking direction. The drive circuit supplies a potential to reduce a potential difference with the semiconductor pillar as a diameter of the through-hole piercing the electrode film decreases.

  • Patent number: RE46842
Abstract: A container closure assembly includes a closure, an inner seal, and a radio frequency identification tag. The inner seal comprises a sealable film laminated to a metallic foil, and includes a first surface for sealing engagement with a container sealing surface, and a second, opposed surface for non-scaling engagement with a backing liner, a facing liner, or a glued-in closure liner. The radio frequency identification tag includes a microprocessor electrically coupleable with an antenna for receiving, storing, and transmitting digitized information. The inner seal minimizes migration of fluids between a container interior volume and an exterior of a container when the inner seal is sealingly engaged with a container sealing surface. The radio frequency identification tag is includable in the closure assembly without the closure assembly electromagnetically interfering with the receiving, storing, or transmitting of the digitized information.

  • Patent number: RE47049
Abstract: A method and system for enhancing a target sound signal from multiple sound signals is provided. An array of an arbitrary number of sound sensors positioned in an arbitrary configuration receives the sound signals from multiple disparate sources. The sound signals comprise the target sound signal from a target sound source, and ambient noise signals. A sound source localization unit, an adaptive beamforming unit, and a noise reduction unit are in operative communication with the array of sound sensors. The sound source localization unit estimates a spatial location of the target sound signal from the received sound signals. The adaptive beamforming unit performs adaptive beamforming by steering a directivity pattern of the array of sound sensors in a direction of the spatial location of the target sound signal, thereby enhancing the target sound signal and partially suppressing the ambient noise signals, which are further suppressed by the noise reduction unit.

  • Patent number: RE47053
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for providing audio service to a client through a communication network. A user subscribes to the service and the user's access to audio files is contingent upon authorization and validation. Once authorized, the user may access and stream out audio date files, or similar types of files, to the client device through the communication network. Metrics are maintained for the play-out of each audio file and payment may be allocated to an owner of rights in the audio file based on the play-out statistics. The user may maintain customized play lists on the server for playing out preselected audio files. A play list may be sent to another user. The server may also be configured to select audio files not previously selected by the user based on the user's past selection behavior or based on the user's stated preferences. The audio files identified by the server are then suggested to the user.

  • Patent number: RE47180
Abstract: An apparatus for generating a bandwidth extended signal from an input signal includes a patch generator and a combiner. The input signal is represented for first and second bands by first and second resolution data, respectively, the second resolution being lower than the first. The patch generator generates first and second patches from the first band of the input signal according to first and second patching algorithms, respectively. A spectral density of the second patch generated using the second patching algorithm is higher than a spectral density of a first patch generated using the first patching algorithm. The combiner combines both patches and the first band of the input signal to obtain the bandwidth extended signal. The apparatus scales the input signal according to the first and second patching algorithms or scales the first and second patches, so that the bandwidth extended signal fulfills a spectral envelope criterion.

  • Patent number: RE47244
Abstract: An alarm suspend system utilizes an alarm trigger responsive to physiological parameters and corresponding limits on those parameters. The parameters are associated with both fast and slow treatment times corresponding to length of time it takes for a person to respond to medical treatment for out-of-limit parameter measurements. • Patent number: RE47278
Abstract: Disclosed is a downlink signal configuring method and device, and synchronization and cell search method and device using the same in a mobile communication system. A downlink frame has plural symbols into which pilot subcarriers are distributively arranged with respect to time and frequency axes. Initial symbol synchronization and initial frequency synchronization are estimated by using a position at which autocorrelation of a cyclic prefix of a downlink signal and a valid symbol of the downlink is maximized, and cell search and integer-times frequency synchronization are estimated by using pilot subcarriers included in the estimated symbol. Fine symbol synchronization, fine frequency synchronization, and downlink frame synchronization is estimated by using an estimated cell search result.
