Abstract: Provided is a grease composition for a magnet clutch of an automobile, including: a base oil; and a thickener, wherein the composition contains 5% by mass or more of a sulfur content in terms of sulfur element relative to a total mass of the composition.
Abstract: Corrosion inhibiting formulations including a substituted benzimidazole, a mercaptocarboxylic acid, a 2-thioxodihydropyrimidine-dione, a sulfhydryl alcohol, a surfactant, and a solvent. Methods for preventing, inhibiting, or reducing metal (e.g. carbon steel) corrosion utilizing these formulations are described. The formulations are effective against corrosion of metallic substrates in sweet (i.e. CO2), sour (i.e. H2S), and/or high salinity environments commonly found in petroleum industry.

Abstract: A reverse osmosis unit for processing a feed solution is provided. The unit includes a pressure vessel includes an inlet end, an outlet end, and a vessel body extending between the inlet end and the outlet end. Abstract: Methods for preparing, converting, and/or transporting bitumen are provided. Asphaltene prills, prilling processes, and converted bitumen suitable for transport are disclosed. One method for preparing bitumen for transport comprises: separating asphaltene from the bitumen to generate a deasphalted oil and asphaltene; separating the asphaltene into a first asphaltene fraction and a second asphaltene fraction, the first asphaltene fraction being less soluble in deasphalted oil and the second asphaltene fraction being more soluble in deasphalted oil; and forming an asphaltene prill comprising an inner core comprising the second asphaltene fraction and an outer layer comprising the first asphaltene fraction. Asphaltene prills disclosed herein may comprise an inner core comprising an asphaltene fraction having more solubility in deasphalted oil, and an outer layer comprising an asphaltene fraction having less solubility in deasphalted oil. Methods for the transport of bitumen via a pipeline are disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed are Group III base stocks comprising greater than or equal to about 90 wt. % saturated hydrocarbons (saturates); a viscosity index from 120 to 145; a unique ratio of molecules with multi-ring naphthenes to single ring naphthenes (2R+N/1RN); a unique ratio of branched carbons to straight chain carbons (BC/SC); a unique ratio of branched carbons to terminal carbons (BC/TC); and unique MRV behavior as a function of base stock naphthene ratio (2R+N/1RN). A method for preparing the base stocks is also disclosed. Also disclosed is a lubricating oil having the base stock as a major component, and an additive as a minor component.

Abstract: Emissions of mercury, NOx, and/or SOx are reduced by enzyme treating coal before combustion, optionally with further treatment of the coal with certain non-bromine containing powder sorbents. y using the steps together, mercury can be reduced by 40% or more, and NOx by 20% or more. Advantageously, no bromine is introduced with the remediation steps.

Abstract: Selectively-releasable colorant compositions that allow a controllable release of colorant molecules from resin in response to one or more specific environmental stimuli. The selectively-releasable colorant composition may comprise resin particles having colorant molecules reversibly bound thereto. The compositions of the present disclosure may also provide precise and uniform control of free colorant content in an environment and/or protection of the immobilized (i.e., unreleased) colorant from compromising environmental chemistries. The present disclosure also relates to methods of preparing and methods of using the compositions described herein.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and compositions for reducing fouling by natural and synthetic foulants that tend to precipitate during petroleum collecting, processing, transporting, and storing. The method includes applying one or more antifouling polymers to a petroleum product to form a treated petroleum product, wherein fouling by the treated petroleum product is reduced and a stable dispersion is formed over a wide range of processing conditions. The one or more antifouling polymers include the polymerized residues of one or more ?-olefins and maleic anhydride, further wherein the maleic anhydride residues are reacted with a primary amine. Concentrates of the antifouling polymers in solvents are stable and pourable at temperatures of 0° C. to ?40° C.
Abstract: A first hydroprocessed product and a second hydroprocessed product produced from a multi-stage process for upgrading pyrolysis tar, such as steam cracker tar, are provided herein. Fuel blends including the first hydroprocessed product and/or the second hydroprocessed product are also provided herein as well as methods of lowering pour point of a gas oil using the first hydroprocessed product and the second hydroprocessed product.
