  • Patent number: 10629078
Abstract: A method, system and product for computer-aided hunting for location-based events. The computer-aided hunting may be based on providing an automatic suggestion of a proposed waiting location. A method includes computing, a proposed location for a driver of a vehicle, wherein the proposed location is an approximated location where the vehicle can wait until a location-based event occurs occurring in a geographical area. The computing includes: computing, for each potential location within the geographical area, computing a measurement indicative of an estimated elapsed time until the location based event occurring in a proximity of the potential location; and selecting the proposed location from the potential location based on the computed measurements, and providing the proposed location to the driver.

  • Patent number: 10621842
Abstract: Approaches for generating an alert in an absence of a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag in proximity to a mobile device are provided herein. RFID tags are detected in proximity to the first mobile device, which has a RFID receiver. The alert is generated in response to alert conditions, including a determination that a RFID tag identifier stored in a first profile list is not among detected RFID tags and that an RFID tag stored in the first profile list is not in proximity to a second device. The alert is transmitted to the second mobile device, wherein the alert adds, responsive to the stored RFID tag not being among the detected RFID tags at the first device, the stored RFID tag to a second profile list associated with the second mobile device for storing RFID tag identifiers, wherein the second profile list is separate from the first profile list.

  • Patent number: 10621839
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for the detection and identification of a cellular device that crosses a perimeter associated with a premises that is installed with a monitoring system. Subsequently, a determination of an intruder crossing the perimeter and/or entering a building within the premises may be made based on receiving unique identification values for the cellular device and/or information associated with a user of the cellular device. One or more sensors present within or near the premises may be configured to send alert information when tripped. The monitoring system may be configured to determine a location of the cellular device, an identity of the user of the cellular device, additional information stored, transmitted or received by the cellular device, and safe escape routes that may be sent to one or more user devices registered with the monitoring system.

  • Patent number: 10604136
Abstract: Circuits for providing to an operator warning interfaced system of a transportation vehicle a conductive path to ground or voltage source are described herein. The operator warning interface system, when provided a conductive path to ground or voltage source, may generate an audio and/or visual alert that indicates that the parking brake of the transportation vehicle is disengaged. The circuits may include at least one switch that when integrated into a safety and warning system of a transportation vehicle and when closed provides a conductive path to ground or voltage source to an operator warning interface system of the transportation vehicle, where the switch closes when the parking brake of the transportation vehicle is disengaged. In some implementations, the circuits may further include a second switch that must be closed in order to provide the conductive path to ground or voltage source. The second switch may close when the vehicle ignition is turned off.

  • Patent number: 10593185
Abstract: A system for monitoring a person comprises establishing a check-in period, wherein the system checks for a check-in from local devices, local to the person monitored during the check-in period. If no check-in is received during the check-in period, sending a message to a remote communication device, from a first user different than the monitored person. If no check-in is received from the first user, sending a message to additional remote communication devices stored in memory until a check-in is received or until all devices stored in memory are exhausted without a check-in. If a check-in is received from a local device or a remote communication device, stopping the check-in period and stopping sending messages to remote communication devices and waiting for the next scheduled check-in period to check for check-ins.

  • Patent number: 10580274
Abstract: A method for generating an alert on a mobile device in an absence of a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag in proximity to the mobile device is provided herein. The method comprises defining an event. A profile list for storing RFID tag identifiers is related to the event. The method also comprises sharing the event data together with the profile list using a social media network, storing all received RFID tag identifiers at a time within the duration of the event after an event start time in the profile list if the profile list was empty before the event start time, and generating the alert under alert conditions. The alert conditions comprise a determination that the profile list was not empty before the event start time, and that one RFID tag identifier stored in the profile list is not among the received RFID tag identifiers during the event duration after the event time.

  • Patent number: 10580276
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically tracking tools and managing tool inventory. Tools may be assigned to a work group or crew. Tools are tracked and monitored to determine whether the tools are with their assigned group, relocated to a different group, missing, or left behind at a job site. For relocated tools, the tool tracking system may identify and output the time and the group to which the tool has been relocated. For tools that are missing, the system may compute and output the group or crew, time, and location in the form of a street address, latitude, longitude, and/or map where the missing tool was last seen. The system may also send out real-time notifications (e.g., SMS text messages, emails, phone calls) to designated personnel so that an appropriate action can be taken. The tool tracking system also acts as an inventory management system for tools.

  • Patent number: 10580295
Abstract: A vehicular safety system employing an adaptive epidemic information dissemination protocol running on a wireless ad-hoc network composed by neighboring vehicles and roadside stations. The protocol is based on storage and re-transmission of messages by vehicle on-board units; both storage time and re-transmission period are adaptively adjusted to make information spread through the network reasonably certain. An on-board vehicle system monitors a speed and acceleration to detect collisions or any other dangerous situations that might compromise the safety; when such an event is detected a time-stamped message identifies the vehicle and approximate location and event type. A panic button can trigger an emergency message in an immediate threat situation. Roadside stations add their location to the messages they relay; they also receive messages transmitted from passing vehicles, relaying them to law-enforcement agencies.
