    Abstract: A fluid flow device in one embodiment comprising a housing having an aperture or a plurality of apertures therein and in another embodiment a single chamber with a piston such as a flexible member forming a chamber and a vibratory member for vibrating the flexible member to simultaneously eject an array of laminar flow fluid vortices that coalesce with each other to form a larger fluid vortex that can be used for direct cooling or for inducing circulation of a cooling fluid within an enclosure to cool the components within the system. When used within a closed system the inventor provides a zero net flux device as the fluid contained within a sealed chamber can be stirred, or mixed, without the introduction of fresh fluid from the outside the system.

The ruler has units of linear measurement marked thereon for measuring the pipe insulation assembly in the direction of the length of the pipe insulation assembly.

    Abstract: An electrically conductive confined space ventilation conduit formed of a substantially rigid non-metallic conductive material, such as plastic, and a related process for ventilating an enclosure accessed by a manhole or other port. In one embodiment, the conduit has a pair of outer cylindrical sections and a central section having a cross-sectional shape of a crescent or a segment of a circle where it passes through a port to provide a minimum of obstruction for men and equipment passing through the port. Intermediate sections of varying cross-section connect the central section to the cylindrical outer sections so that the outer sections are offset from the axis of the manhole. The central section is preferably configured to obstruct no more than about 10 percent of a standard manhole opening, while causing either no air flow rate reduction, or a reduction of no more than about 10 percent as compared to the flow rate through a cylindrical conduit similar to said outer sections.

    Abstract: The invention provides a duct with high sound absorbing effect and sufficient exhausting efficiency, as well as an electronic apparatus having the duct. The duct can include a hollow duct body, an inflated section arranged at an intermediate part of a passage of the duct body, and a sponge bonded on internal surfaces of the duct body and the inflated section. The duct body and the inflated section can have a thickness of 0.25 mm and be formed of a sheet member of paper impregnated with polymethylpentene on the surface thereof. The duct body can also include an intake-port side duct body and an exhaust-port side duct body, which are connected together at an angle of 90° therebetween. Further, a fan can be connected to an intake port of the intake-port side duct body 201. The inflated section can be arranged in the side of the intake port, and the cross-sectional area of the inflated section can be 1.8 times that of the duct body.

    Abstract: A pressure reducer is configured for use in a liquid delivery system that requires its liquid contents to be pressurized to a first, relatively high pressure but also requires that the liquid be delivered to a downstream location such as a faucet at a second, relatively low pressure. The pressure reducer reduces the pressure of the flowing liquid by repeatedly imparting directional changes to the liquid. Preferably, the pressure reducer comprises a stationary restrictor having multiple aligned segments, each of which is configured to divide the liquid into two or more diverging streams and to recombine the streams at the end of the segment. Each segment preferably comprises a curved blade having opposed generally toroidal surfaces that border one of two divided liquid streams. The device may be located either remote from or adjacent to the faucet or other terminal point of the system and can include either a single passage or multiple parallel passages.

    Abstract: The present invention comprises a sprayer boom and is incorporated in a spraying apparatus which includes a vehicle, a tank, hoses connected to nozzles, and the sprayer boom. The sprayer boom includes a number of wing sections each including at least one single-piece component cut from a sheet of metal to form a web or truss structure which replaces the usual rods and welds support provided to sprayer booms of this nature. Obtaining the single-piece component by cutting it from a sheet of metal rather than constructing the truss-structure by use of many rods reduces material and labor costs. Spaced apart rungs or tabs on the bottom of the sprayer boom provide openings through which sprayer nozzles are aimed while the nozzles, hoses and connectors remain mostly recessed within the boom which provides physical protection from wind and other damage and still allows easy access for repair.
