  • Patent number: 5205043
Abstract: FIG. 2 shows a jigsaw in which pendulum motion in imparted on the blade (24) (see FIG. 1) by a bell crank lever (28) mounting a support wheel (26). The lever (28) is actuated by pin (34) passing through adjustment shaft (36). The pin (34) is actuated by fork lever (42) journalled around circular cam surface (48) and pivoted on axis (44). Cam surface (48) is eccentrically mounted on gear shaft axis (10). Rotational adjustment of shaft (36), which changes amplitude of reciprocation of pin (34) responsive to fork lever cam surface (54) is effected by pin (60) passing through shaft (36) and pivotally mounted in slide switch (70). Arrangement allows for compact design of saw.

  • Patent number: 5199173
Abstract: A safety razor which conforms to both concave and convex body surfaces and has a handle and a curved rotatable cartridge. Shaving blades are positioned on both sides of the curved cartridge, thus, both concave and convex accurate cutting edges are obtained in a single compact cartridge. The concave surface is used when shaving convex body surfaces. Rotating the cartridge 180 degrees exposes the convex cutting surface for shaving concave body surfaces. The cartridge is rotatably mounted to the handle and is held in either concave or convex shaving positions with detents. When the alternate shaving position is desired, the cartridge is rotated 180 degrees, either manually or remotely using a push button device within the handle, which is also disclosed. The correct angular relationship of the handle to the cutting surface of the cartridge is set and maintained for both concave and convex settings by means of the detents since the amount of rotation between the two shaving settings is 180 degrees.

  • Patent number: 5193275
Abstract: A dry shaver has a flat casing mounting a flat cutter head composed of an outer shear foil and an inner cutter assembly. The inner cutter assembly is driven by a flat motor accommodated within the casing to reciprocate in hair shearing engagement with the outer shear foil. A flat and elongated battery is disposed within the casing over substantially the entire length thereof in side-by-side relation to the flat motor. The motor has a length shorter than the battery and is disposed in the casing with its lower end in substantially the same level as that of the battery so as to define above the motor a space which extends into an upper center portion from one lateral side of the casing. The flat motor has an output rotor shaft extending upwardly into the space for coupling thereat to an output rotor shaft.

  • Patent number: 5189794
Abstract: The structure of the shears with a tongs is that a shears overlaps a tongs. There are rivets at the end of the two handles of the two objects. The center hole of the shears cooperates with the round hole of the pivot. The hole of the overlapped parts of the tongs plates is elongated. That makes the tongs plates have more elastic space and move forward and backward in a slanting direction. The noses of the tongs propped by a tension spring can open outwards. When opening, the tongs using the ends of the handles as the axle center makes the shears open as well. Then, the noses of the tongs is a little smaller than that of the shears. When the handles of the shears are forced to clip inwards, the tongs also clips inwards. But when the noses clip the work piece, the noses stop and the edges of the shears keep cutting inwards. The tongs clips the work piece by the force of the tension spring. That the work piece does not fall down when being cut is its feature.

  • Patent number: 5189792
Abstract: A reciprocatory cutter head includes a pair of cutter heads mounted to a head frame. Each of the cutter heads is of elongated configuration extending horizontally to define a longitudinal axis and have opposed longitudinal ends. The cutter head includes an elongated outer shearing foil which comes into hair shearing engagement with an inner cutter driven to reciprocate along the longitudinal axis. The cutter heads are floatingly supported to the head frame in such a manner that the cutter heads are vertically movable relative to the head frame independently from each other as well as that each of the cutter heads is vertically movable at one longitudinal end substantially independently of the other longitudinal end. Whereby, the cutter heads cooperate with each other to readily conform to the shapes of a user's skin with maximum skin engaging area for assuring enhanced shaving performance, particularly at the irregularly contoured portions of the skin.

  • Patent number: 5185926
Abstract: By providing at least three separate and independent foil members each of which cooperate with a separate and independent cutting blade system which is biased into engagement with the foil member and freely flexible in a plurality of directions, a substantially improved electric dry shaver is obtained. In the present invention, a unique cutting blade support assembly is provided which assures free flexible movement of the cutting blades, while also continuously and positively biasingly maintaining the cutting blades in contact with the foil member. In addition, the multiple foil construction of this invention provides a system wherein foil members having different physical characteristics are mountable to the shaver, thereby providing substantially enhanced cutting capabilities and more universal applicability to unusual or mixed shaving conditions.

  • Patent number: 5184403
Abstract: The invention is directed to a motor-driven chain saw having a drive motor which drives a saw chain via a sprocket with the saw chain running around the periphery of the cutter bar in a guide groove formed in this periphery. A brake device is provided to bring the saw chain to standstill which is actuated by a brake lever. In addition, the drive motor continuously drives a lubricating-oil pump which is mounted in a feed line between the supply tank and a outlet opening of the guide groove. The supply of lubricating oil is interrupted when the saw chain is brought to standstill. This is achieved by providing a blocking valve in the feed line which is closed during idle operation of the drive motor and is opened during load operation of the drive motor.

  • Patent number: 5182859
Abstract: A cable stripper, which makes both the circumferential and axial cuts in the covering of a cable by a simple operation, including a cable guide with slits, operation levers that have three circular blades which are parallel with one another, and a lower blade. The edges of the circular blades are oriented perpendicular to the axis of the cable that is brought into the cable guide, and the edge of the lower blade is oriented parallel with the axis of the cable. The circumferential cuts of the cable is formed when the circular blades are moved into the cable guide through the slits by a spring force and turned around the cable, and the axial cut of the cable is formed, when the cable is pulled out from the cable guide, by the lower blade that is projected into the cable guide.
