  • Patent number: 4067627
Abstract: The invention is concerned with the protective cover and clamping arrangement for a bottle. The arrangement comprises a first wall having hook means proceeding outwardly therefrom. The arrangement further comprises a can open along a first side and at a first end thereof, the first side thereof being fastenable against the first wall. Hook engaging means are provided proceeding outwardly from a second and closed end of the can for engagement with the hook means. A second wall proceeds generally outwardly from the first wall a spaced distance from the hook means generally equal to the length of the can. Fastening means are provided for fastening the first end of the can to the second wall to create a generally closed chamber about the bottle. Shape conforming first bottle engaging means are provided extending from the first wall to contact the bottle and shock absorbent second bottle engaging means are provided extending from the interior of the can to contact the bottle.

  • Patent number: 4067629
Abstract: A storage receptacle for a magnetic tape cassette which comprises a housing having spaced apart, parallel side walls which, between their forward edges, define an opening of the housing, and a holder pivotally connected with the housing for swinging movement through such opening between an opened position in which the holder projects forwardly from the housing for slidably receiving and relinquishing a cassette, and a closed position in which the holder cooperates with the housing for enclosing a cassette cradled in the holder between spaced apart side walls of the holder; flexibly resilient stop elements project inwardly from one of the side walls of the holder so as to be deflected out of the path of a cassette during its slidable insertion and removal in respect to the holder, while such stop elements return to their normal positions for engaging reel hubs of a cassette, and thereby resisting turning of the supply and takeup reels when the cassette is fully inserted or cradled in the cassette.

  • Patent number: 4067632
Abstract: A drawer slide structure includes a pair of slide mechanisms supporting the drawer in a cabinet, each mechanism including a pair of vertically spaced telescoping inner and outer relatively slidable channels, the inner channels being rigidly interconnected, the lower outer channel being mounted to the cabinet and the upper channel supporting the drawer. An angle member is secured to the drawer side wall and rests on the upper outer channel and is coupled thereto by a resilient latch element mounted on the upper outer channel front end and releasably engaging a front opening in the angle member horizontal web. Intercoupling is effected merely by lowering the drawer onto the channel member and uncoupling is effected merely by pressing the latch element and raising the drawer front end. A resilient loop depends from the latch element and frictionally engages the lower outer channel in the slide contracted position to prevent inadvertent withdrawal of the drawer.

  • Patent number: 4067628
Abstract: In a side by side refrigerator-freezer appliance, thermal leakage between the compartments is reduced by forming the liners separately for each compartment, but without the partition wall. Adjacent edges of the liners are spaced apart and desirably out-turned to form a truncated V groove. A partition wall is separately formed and foam insulated; edges of the partition are upset to form a tongue slidable along the groove whereby the partition is retained in position.

  • Patent number: 4065927
Abstract: Gas flow from a coal seam to a mine face in the seam is blocked by drilling a hole from the face into the seam in a direction generally parallel to the direction of the flow of the gas to be blocked; forming a notch at the interior end of the hole; injecting a fluid into the hole and notch under a pressure sufficient to hydraulically fracture the seam along a plane extending substantially perpendicular to the hole and to the direction of gas flow; and filling such fracture with a barrier-forming fluid. The hole is then plugged to prevent retrograde flow of the fluid to the mine face.

  • Patent number: 4066307
Abstract: An anti-theft housing for vehicular communication equipment utilizes a housing adapted to contain the body of the communication equipment having the face plate or front panel thereof extending outwardly from the housing by passing through an access port therein. An escutcheon plate disposed about the access port captures the front plate of the communication equipment preventing the removal of the equipment from the housing when the escutcheon plate is locked to the housing utilizing a pair of arms attached to the escutcheon plate that are located within the housing and secured thereto, by a pair of rods engaging holes in the arms and operably controlled by a key operated lock secured to the housing. The keyway of the lock is shielded by a plate secured to the housing and spaced outwardly therefrom so as to prevent tampering with the lock by unauthorized personnel.

  • Patent number: 4065194
Abstract: A mechanism for automatically elevating or lowering a pulpit or lectern. A pulpit or lectern (hereinafter collectively "pulpit") is secured to the top of a rectangular box-like carriage. The carriage is guided during vertical movement along a plurality of guide rails by a plurality of pillow blocks secured to the carriage and engaging the rails. The rails are located within a pit which holds the pulpit and carriage when fully lowered. A vertical drive screw aligned with the center of the carriage and parallel with the guide rails engages a drive nut secured to the carriage. A reversible electric motor is adapted to drive the drive screw which moves the carriage between positions. The guide rails are adapted to guide the carriage and pulpit between a "down" position within the pit and an "elevated" position above the pit for use. Appropriate switches are provided to permit efficient operation of the system.
