  • Patent number: 4081870
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bolster which is used for physical therapy especially for handicapped children. The bolster comprises a pair of solid discs at the ends thereof and a plurality of spaced, hollowed-out intermediate discs having a cylindrical outer shell preferably of relatively light gauge metal wrapped thereabout. The cylindrical shell is then covered with a layer of foam rubber which is adhered thereto and turned over onto the periphery of the end discs. A brightly colored vinyl covering is then placed over the foam rubber. The operation may be facilitated by covering the foam rubber first with a plastic sheet or other low friction thin covering and slipping the vinyl thereover. The vinyl covering is secured in place to the end discs and a handle is fastened to one of the end discs for ease of handling.

  • Patent number: 4082387
Abstract: A vehicle console for mounting and enclosing radios and the like characterized by a box-like enclosure having a frontwardly facing access opening that is coverable by an access door. The access door is lockable, and outwardly pivotable so that a radio and the like, having frontwardly presented control panels, may be easily adjusted when the door is downwardly opened. The box-like enclosure is pivotable with respect to a bracket that is adapted to be mounted upon an vehicle surface. To ensure secure anti-theft mounting of the bracket to a vehicle surface, square aperture holes are provided in a downwardly disposed flange of the bracket so that the carriage head bolts may be downwardly inserted therethrough, thereby rendering it impossible to remove the mounting bolts from above.

  • Patent number: 4082333
Abstract: A chain door guard assembly has a chain fixed at one end with chain heads along its length and a guard plate having a raised main body section and flanges for attaching the guard plate to a door. The main body section of the guard plate contains a long slot and a plurality of entry slots which permit insertion of a plurality of chain heads into the long slot. Two independent entry slots, for accepting a chain head in one instance and a chain-attached slide bolt in the other, are also provided. The resulting chain door guard assembly affords selectively varying degrees of security and convenience, achieved by the insertion of those chain heads into their designated entry slots. This door guard assembly may be used for left or right side door installation.

  • Patent number: 4081191
Abstract: A lock assembly for locking or unlocking the door of a truck or trailer body from a handle located inside the cab of the tractor. The tractor cab is fitted with a pivotable handle lever mounted on about fixed rachet gear engaged by a pivotable tooth on the handle lever, with the handle lever linked by a lock rod that extends under the floor of an attached truck or trailer body to a latch fixed on the door of the truck or trailer body. The lock rod may be fitted with coupling means for separation into a tractor section and a trailer section for use when the trailer section is detached from the tractor. The door latch is in the form of a bolt slidable axially through an eye member fixed to the truck door or alternately the bolt is bent at an angle to rotate about a fixed bracket on the door, with the bolt coupled to the lock rod by helical-slotted collar that translates reciprocal axial motion of the lock rod into rotary motion of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 4080022
Abstract: A service counter having several spaced apart service stations each of which allows a single person to service two customers. Each service station includes a pair of customer windows facing a common service person workspace positioned therebetween so that the person is equally accessible to both customer windows, yet adjacent customer windows at different service stations face away from each other to insure privacy. The service counter maximizes equipment efficiency by utilizing a single unit of relatively expensive equipment for two customer windows, and it maximizes the efficiency of service personnel by allowing a person to service one customer while another customer at the same service station is preparing to do business with the service person.

  • Patent number: 4078847
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an electronic equipment enclosure assembled from four basic components including (a) frame rail members, (b) corner connector clips, (c) panel support clips, and (d) panel sheets. The frame members each include a pair of right angled walls terminating at flanges which form adjacent pairs of parallel, longitudinally extending internal and external slots. The internal slots receive the clips of the invention, namely, unique, simply constructed connector clips at the mitered joints to fasten the frame members in an assembled mutually perpendicular relation, and panel corner connector clips to engage and support the wall panels and/or shelves of the enclosure. The novel corner connector clip is generally dish shaped and comprises three extending arm members disposed in planes in a mutual perpendicular relation.

  • Patent number: 4077686
Abstract: There is disclosed a prefabricated storage module which employs a top and a bottom rectangular pan member, each having a peripheral slot formed integrally therewith. A right and a left side wall panel assembly each having a coupling channel adapted to coact with corresponding coupling channels on a back wall panel. The coupling channels permit a user to slide the side wall panels into the back panels to permit coupling of the right and left side wall panels with the back panel. The coupled side wall and back panels are then inserted into the peripheral slots of the top and bottom pan members and are thus secured within the peripheral slots. Hinged door assemblies can then be added to the side panels and shelves and rods can be included in the inner confines of the assembled structure by suitable bracket assemblies which are spot-welded to the side panels at predetermined locations. The resultant structure is strong as fabricated from a suitable guage furniture steel and is easily and efficiently assembled.
