Patent number: 4806123Abstract: An electrical connector device comprising male and female housings and terminal seating detecting means. Each of the housings includes retaining means protruding in the form of a cantilever from each of partition walls, which define terminal chambers arranged in the form of a matrix composed of a plurality of rows and columns, and resiliently bendable in a flexure space. As male terminals, contained individually in the terminal chambers, and female terminals, adapted to be connected to the male terminals, engage the retaining means, the terminals are prevented from slipping out of the chambers. The terminal seating detecting means is fitted into the flexure space of the retaining means when the terminals are contained in their corresponding terminal chambers so that they normally engage the retaining means.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1988Date of Patent: February 21, 1989Assignee: The Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kenjiro Konishi, Ken Obata

Patent number: 4804330Abstract: A vacuum tight electrical feedthru is disclosed for use where electrical leads must pass through the walls of a container in which a high vacuum must be maintained. It is useful in conjunction with infrared sensors, as well as for security, fire detection, rescue, night vision and medical applications. The feedthru includes a ceramic circuit ring with electrical traces deposited on one side. A ceramic seal ring partially covers the traces and is fired down to the main ceramic ring forming a hermetic seal. Metal rings are brazed to the seal ring and the ceramic circuit ring to allow welding to a housing. Spring loaded pads load a resilient pad onto the cables forcing gold plated dots to make contact to the pads on the ceramic circuit ring. This feedthru provides 180 conductors, 90 on each side. The ribbon cables are etched to expose the wires, which are then pressed on the gold dots.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1987Date of Patent: February 14, 1989Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Air ForceInventors: Maciej J. Patent number: 4795360Abstract: Mateable receptacle and plug assemblies comprising a cable connector for use in a nuclear environment. The receptacle assembly and the plug assembly comprise mateable metallic shells, each surrounding one or more cable ends terminating in contacts. The contacts of the receptacle assembly and the plug assembly are equal in number and mateable. In each of the receptacle assembly and the plug assembly, the space between the shell and the cable ends and their contacts is filled with one or more heat, steam and radiation resistant insulative elastomeric compounds and/or epoxy compounds to prevent hosing of steam and moisture through the cables. The inside surfaces of the shells are uniquely configured to enhance bonding thereof to the insulative compounds, providing baffles creating pressure drops should the bond fail. O-rings are mounted on the plug assembly shell which cooperate with the receptacle assembly shell to form compression and butt seals to prevent leakage through the shell faces.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1985Date of Patent: January 3, 1989Assignee: Empire Products, Inc.Inventors: Albert P.
