  • Patent number: 4777695
Abstract: A control lever is driven by a driving unit to cause variation in tension of a coil spring and therefore variation in force with which a wiper blade is pressed against a windshield. The driving unit is disposed in an arm head and includes a geared motor, a male screw member in the form of a bolt and secured to an output shaft of the geared motor and a female screw member having an internally threaded socket portion screwed onto the male screw member and a sliding portion in the form of a rectangular bar and installed in a guide member for longitudinal movement but against rotation. The output shaft of the geared motor, male screw member and the female screw member are so arranged as to have axes in line with each other and exending longitudinally of the arm head.

  • Patent number: 4776054
Abstract: A toothbrush for efficient cleaning of the teeth, the area under the sulcus and between the teeth and for massage and stimulation of the gums, has a plurality of spaced longitudinally extending rows of bristles in center and outer rows extending from the brushhead. The bristles of the center rows extend perpendicularly to the brushhead and the bristles of each of the outer rows are inclined in different directions relative to the bristles of the center rows. The bristles of each of the outer rows are inclined in one direction from approximately the center of the row to one end thereof and in the opposite direction from approximately the center of the row to the opposite end thereof. Each of the one and opposite directions is away from a normal line at approximately the center of the row. The bristles of the outer rows may also be inclined away from the planes of the bristles of the center rows.

  • Patent number: 4773112
Abstract: In a reciprocating wiper system for motor vehicles with a piston adjustably guided in a housing a slide fixed on the housing in a torsionally firm way is provided as a protection against twisting, the slide is longitudinally guided on a guide element fixed to the housing. To compensate for unavoidable tolerances of position and shape of the guide elements and the slide a calotte-shaped bearing body is fittingly guided on the guide element. The bearing body is movably mounted with play in the radial direction in a calotte-shaped receiver on the slide.

  • Patent number: 4768433
Abstract: A device for controlling the diameter of cylindrical sections of a rotating calender roll. The device comprises at least one nozzle which directs a jet of air against the calender roll. The flow of air from each nozzle remains approximately constant. Only the temperature of the jets change as heating elements associated with each nozzle are energized or deenergized. Thermal expansion or contraction, resulting from localized heating or cooling by the air jets, corrects local non-uniformities in the calender roll diameter.

  • Patent number: 4765238
Abstract: A round baler is provided which comprises a bale chamber which is expandable between a bale start position and a full bale position and which comprises a first bale-forming means disposed generally circumferentially around a portion of the full size bale chamber when the baler is in its bale-forming condition, and a second bale-forming means which is movable relative to the first bale-forming means between two extreme positions. The second bale-forming means is cooperable, in one extreme position, with the first bale-forming means to form the bale start chamber of reduced dimensions for starting bale formation, and, in the other extreme position, with the first bale-forming means to define a generally cylindrical bale chamber generally corresponding to a full size bale. The first and second bale-forming means are cooperable to form a round bale of crop material during movement of the second bale-forming means from the one extreme position towards the other extreme position.

  • Patent number: 4763380
Abstract: A device for cleaning the top surface of beverage cans is formed from a circular disk provided with symmetrical openings and has a plurality of bristles extending downwardly from a bottom surface thereof. A cylindrical sidewall surrounds the bristles and a bottom circular edge of the cylindrical sidewall extends downwardly past the ends of the bristles. First and second radially spaced circular brush portions are formed of a diameter to engage the gutters formed on two different standard beverage cans. Radially extending brush portions are positioned to clean the flat top surface of beverage containers. In use, the circular plate is placed on top of a beverage can, with the bristles extending downwardly and engaging the top surface of the beverage can. Water is then allowed to run through the openings, while the circular plate is rotated back and forth with the bristles in engagement with the beverage can. This results in a thorough cleaning of the top surface of the beverage can.

  • Patent number: 4763375
Abstract: An improved toothbrush having a handle and two sets of bristles; one set of bristles being disposed on each end of the handle. One set of bristles is configured as a conventional toothbrush and may, thus, have any one of a number of combinations of bristles and shapes for performing routine dental hygiene. The other end of the brush is unique in both the configuration of the supporting portion of the handle, the crescent configuration of the bristles and the articulation (pivoting action) of the crescent-shaped toothbrush relative to the handle. This portion of the handle is further modified (curved) to support the crescent-shaped bristle as to place them in opposing relationship to the inside surface of the user's teeth. This is achieved without any strain or unorthodox positioning of the brush by the user. Since the crescent-shaped toothbrush is able to articulate (pivot) relative to the handle, it is equally effective in cleansing all inside surfaces of the teeth, not simply the front teeth.
