Abstract: An accessory, via several embodiments, is used to keep vehicle outside rear view mirrors clear of water, snow, ice, and dirt, using many available components mountable on supports of present vehicle outside rear view mirrors. Each accessory installation includes controls located inside a vehicle within convenient reach of a driver. In a preferred accessory embodiment for large trucks, a weatherproof housing is secured to standard supports, and inside is an electrical wiper motor and optionally a mirror washer liquid tank. Electrical circuit leads and liquid conduits extend respectively from the electrical wiper motor and the washer liquid tank into the cab of the truck, where an electrical switch and a liquid valve are located within reach of a driver. Also electrical leads extend from a switch in the cab to the rear of the outside rear view mirrors, where accessory heaters are mounted for use in snow and ice removal.

Abstract: A brush assembly having a pair of elongate brushes mounted in a spaced apart manner on a base having an outer wall disposed about the brushes. A hanger engages a bath or shower enclosure member and includes a hook for insertion within an opening in said base. Handles on the base facilitate relocation of the base from a stowed position on the hanger into place on a wall surface. Wall attachment is by suction cups on the rear side of the base with a lever provided for urging the base away from a supporting wall surface and facilitating return of the brush assembly to a stowed position. A double sided adhesive member may be used to permanently secure the base to a wall surface.

Abstract: A paint brush having a ferrule telescopically receiving a handle at one end and the bristles at the other is disclosed with supporting and prying means on one side thereof for adapting the brush to hang from the rim of a paint can, in spaced relation from the walls of the can, and to pry off the lid of the can. The supporting and prying device includes a prying portion which projects outwardly of the ferrule and a hook portion located between the prying portion and the end of the ferrule that receives the handle. An adapter member for adapting a conventional paint brush to hang from the rim of a paint can and to adapt the brush to provide a tool for prying open the can is also disclosed as including a base portion, a prying portion and a hook portion. The base portion is mountable to one side of the ferrule whereby the prying portion and the hook portion project outwardly from the base portion and the ferrule.

Abstract: The specification teaches a method of applying contact lenses to human eyes by sensitizing the fingers and applying the lenses to the eyes by sense of touch. Also taught are several preferred embodiments of means for sensitizing and cleaning the fingers without liquid or cleansing chemical, wherein a base having two faces provided with abrasion means, e.g., brush bristles or nylon fiber pod, preferably trough shaped and with means for gripping the base, are provided.

Abstract: The toothbrush for cleaning both sides of the teeth simultaneously consists of a handle (1) with at least one bristle holder (3, 4) of U-shaped cross section, the legs of said U-shaped cross section having bristles (6) facing inward. Relative to the bristle holder (3, 4) the handle (1) is constructed pivotally about an axis (7) which when the toothbrush is being used is parallel to the axis of the body, and/or relative to the web (2) at least one bristle holder (3 or 4) is pivotal about an axis (8) which is parallel to the teeth when the toothbrush is being used. The bristles (6) are inclined forward and backward away from the web (2) at an angle .alpha. of preferably 3.degree. to 5.degree., as well as additionally or alternatively in the direction in which the toothbrush is pushed at an angle of .beta. of preferably 8.degree. to 10.degree. seen from the middle of the web.

Abstract: A bristle broom is provided with a plurality of relatively flexible, soft bristles the ends of which form the majority of the broom's sweeping surface, and a smaller number of relatively inflexible, stiff bristles the ends of which form a small portion of the sweeping surface adjacent one end thereof. The stiff bristles improve the broom's sweeping efficiency in corners and edges or in removing stubborn dirt while the remainder of the bristles retain the conventional sweeping efficiency of flat bristle brooms.

Abstract: An improved windshield wiper assembly comprising at least one first wiping means, in the form of a rubber wiper blade, a second wiping means in the form of a scrubbing or scouring pad and a deformable bladder therebetween. The bladder can be engorged with windshield washer fluid, which causes the scrubbing pad to deform outwardly, or toward the windshield to be cleaned. As washer fluid leaks from the bladder through perforations and into the scrubbing pad, the windshield wiper is activated in a to-and-fro motion so that the scrubbing pad means scrubs dried insect debris from the windshield.

Abstract: A brush includes a movable handle in the form of nippers and a head having a housing at least on one side, sized for receiving the handle. The latter is made up of two rods of equal length joined together at one of their ends and secured to the head by a set of notches and detents provided in the housing and the free ends of the handle. Securing of the handle to the head is obtained by latching of the detents in the notches. Such a brush is particularly advantageous inasmuch as it makes it extremely simple to replace the head by another one having identical or different size or shape.

Abstract: Disclosed is a toothbrush and a method for cleaning teeth having a dental brace mounted thereon. The toothbrush includes a handle and a head portion on one end of the handle. A plurality of bristles are mounted on the head portion and arranged into a single longitudinally aligned row for receipt of toothpaste or the like. The head portion may be presented parallel to the teeth and the bristles inserted between the dental brace and the side of the teeth. Food particles, plaque and other contaminates may be removed from the teeth by a reciprocal motion of the toothbrush with respect to the teeth.

Abstract: An integral cover for a paint brush is provided which is formed from a rubber composition and includes a cover handle section, a cover ferrule section and a cover neck section which connects the cover handle section and the cover ferrule section. The cover is provided with a hook which is formed integrally with the remaining portion of the cover which permits a paint brush to be hung onto the edge of a container of paint or paint thinner.

Abstract: A dental brush (2) is held exchangeably at one end of a handle (1). The handle end has a bolt thread (3) on which is seated a threaded sleeve (7), along with a passage bore (5) extending transversely through the bolt thread, and longitudinal groove (4). The bristle carrier (10) of the brush (2) is seated in a cylindrical mounting (13) of a synthetic resin, a cross member (14) forming an abutment integrally formed therewith at the free end of this mounting. The brush (2) is inserted with the bristle (11) leading through the passage bore (5), the cross member (14) is introduced into the groove (4), and the threaded sleeve (7) is threaded on the bolt thread (4) over the cross member (14), the latter being clamped in place between the sleeve (7) and the bottom of the groove (4).The mounting (13) provides a quick, effortless, and firm mounting of the brush (2) to the handle (1).

Abstract: The invention relates to a simplified wiper arm for motor vehicles. It comprises only a channel (1), an arm extension (2), a mounting head (3), a helical spring (4) and a rivet (5) acting as articulation means between the channel (1) and the mounting head (3). The mounting head (3) is secured to the drive shaft (7) in the area (6) located betweewn the arm extension (2) and the helical spring (4). The geometrical axis of the helical spring (4) extends substantially perpendicularly to the geometrical axis of the drive shaft (7). One of the extremities (4b) of the helical spring (4) exerts a pressure or load on the channel (1) and on the arm extension (2) via a protruding tongue (1a') provided on the channel (1).

Abstract: A brush is characterized by having a central, rigid plastic core or body in the shap of a flattened cylinder with rounded ends and having imbedded in a rigid central body bristles or bristle tufts similar to the bristle tufts that are imbedded in the plastic of a tooth brush, the purpose of the brush being to clean the teeth, stimulate the gums, and freshen the breath while one chews on the brush, with it fully contained within the mouth.

Abstract: A hand-held vacuum cleaner comprising a dust case having an upward opening and an air-permeable filter wall formed as at least a portion of its structural wall, the dust case being removably fitted in a dust collecting recess formed in the main body of the cleaner, a partitioning member having a suction opening and removably fitted over the opening of the dust case to cover the opening, and a closure pivoted to the cleaner main body and openably closing the opening of the recess except the suction opening of the partitioning member. A paper filter can be held between the dust case and the partitioning member.

Abstract: A music tooth brush comprises a hollow brush hair stock, a touch switch containing the hollow part of said brush hair stock, a brush hair board floatingly mounted on the brush hair stock, and a hollow grip handle bar containing the music IC, batteries and sound-generating plate. When the user brushes his teeth with the said tooth brush, the brush hair board can touch and press the touch switch in the brush hair stock to make the circuit in the grip handle bar become electrically conductive, so the sound-generating plate automatically generates the children's favorite music to eliminate their sense of ill feeling against brushing their teeth and further to foster in children a good habit of brushing their teeth after eating.

Abstract: A tool for treating automotive ignition timing marks includes an elongated handle, a linking member and a holding fixture for holding a stick of chalk for highlighting timing marks or a cloth for cleaning the marks. The linking member is pivotably mounted to the handle, and the holding fixture is pivotably mounted to the linking member so that the elements may be positioned in a wide variety of angular orientations with respect to one another. Tightening means are provided for locking the elements in the desired positions, enabling the device to reach otherwise inaccessible areas in the engine of an automotive vehicle.

Abstract: In a windshield wiper installation for vehicles, the windshield wipers are lowered into a rest position behind an engine hood after the wiper motor is turned off in that a support arm which supports the wiper motor, the wiper gear and the wiper arm is displaced changing in height along at least one toothed rack guidance by an adjusting motor acting on a pinion.

Abstract: A windshield wiper arm including a tension spring which acts upon a holding pin of a swivellable rocker which, upon tilting of the wiper link from its operating position to a tilted position, is abruptly changed from a first end position to a second end position. The swivelling angle of the link between the operating position and a stable tilted position is reduced.

Abstract: A combination paint brush, paint can opener and scraper tool is provided and consists of a blade extending from an extreme end of a paint brush handle for easy opening of a paint can lid and removing loose paint from hard to get places.

Abstract: The invention relates to a brush which comprises a handle portion, a base portion formed with recesses for holding filaments or bristles, an insert which acts as holding means for holding the filaments or bristles in the recesses, and filaments or bristles held in the recesses by the insert. According to the invention, the base portion of the brush, and possible also the handle portion, is formed of a particular plastic which permits the insert which holds the filaments or bristles to press into the sides of the recesses with considerable pressure without cracking the sides so as to permit better holding of the filaments or bristles in the brush base.
