    Abstract: A radial piston pump having a shaft which is mounted in a pump housing an eccentric in the shaft and a stationary piston ring surrounding the eccentric. The piston ring receives the pistons arranged in radial direction to the shaft and surrounding the eccentric. The piston ring is provided with bore holes that open toward the eccentric, for receiving the pistons. The bore holes are closed off at their ends facing away from the eccentric by respective closure plugs. The piston ring is surrounded by a portion of the pump housing, e.g., an annular wall part, so that a liquid filled chamber is defined at least between the closure plugs and the inner side of the portion of the pump housing.

    Abstract: A compressor has an internal refrigerant gas passage selectively connected to and disconnected with an external refrigerant circuit separately provided from the compressor. The compressor has a reciprocable piston in a cylinder bore formed in a housing for compressing gas supplied from the external refrigerant circuit to the internal refrigerant gas passage. A drive shaft is rotatably supported by the housing. A swash plate is supported on the drive shaft for integral rotation with and inclining motion with respect to the drive shaft. The swash plate is movable between a maximum incline and a minimum incline. A disconnecting apparatus disconnects the internal refrigerant gas passage from the external refrigerant circuit when the swash plate is at its minimum incline. A restricting member restricts the amount of gas to be passed through the internal refrigerant gas passage in association with the disconnecting apparatus when the swash plate moves.

A piston is positioned entirely within the bore and defines at least one substantially enclosed displacement chamber. First and second inductive coils are each wrapped around an outer circumference of the housing and are each alternatingly energizable to produce respective first and second induced magnetic fields causing metal piston to move to oppositely located first and second positions within the bore. At least one check valve assembly is attached to one of the first and second ends and is in communication with the at least one displacement chamber.

    Abstract: An electronic control system dynamically varies the output capacity of a compressor by controlling plural valves associated with the compressor to provide pressurized air to a distribution system at an appropriate rate. The control system operates in any of three modes for standalone operation, including continuous run, auto/dual pressure band, and target pressure modes. In the first two modes, pressure bands are dynamically calculated based on load and unload values entered by an operator. These electronic control systems can also be connected in a peer-to-peer network to coordinate control of up to 16 compressors feeding the same distribution system, so as to maintain a desired target pressure in the system. A modem connected to the system supports remote diagnostics, monitoring, and control. Specialized startup, operating, and shutdown diagnostic algorithms prevent damage to the compressor and avert unsafe operating conditions.

The ball-and-cup structures are radially much smaller than the stator blades. The ball-and-cup interface has so small a gap that the ball-to-cup structures present an essentially continuous surface to the blood flow.

    Abstract: A vibrating compressor having a housing with an inner tube and an outer tube formed concentrically. The inner tube is connected with the outer tube via an end plate. A permanent magnet is fitted to an inner circumferential surface of the outer tube. A driving coil is provided in a gap between the permanent magnet and the inner tube. A cylinder is fitted into an inside of the inner tube and a hollow piston equipped with a valve is inserted into the cylinder. The hollow piston is connected to the driving coil via a bobbin and is supported by support springs in such a manner as to perform reciprocating motion. A cylinder head connected to the housing forms a compression chamber at an end of the cylinder and compressed fluid is discharged from the compression chamber by the reciprocating motion of the piston.

Fluid communication between the crank and discharge chambers is opened by the second valve control mechanism when the predetermined constant value of the suction chamber pressure must be increased.
