Abstract: Methods and systems for processing and displaying content are disclosed. An example method of operation may include initializing two or more windows on a mobile device, and displaying a first window of the two or more windows on the mobile device. The method may also include receiving an on-screen switcher indication causing a display view change from the first window being displayed to a combination of the first window and at least one more additional windows being displayed. The method may also include determining a space amount for each of the two or more windows, adjusting a size of each of the two or more windows based on the space amount. The method may further include displaying a frame around each of the two or more windows with the respective adjusted size, and displaying each frame overlaid on top of one another. The example method provides multiple web pages to be concurrently active in a common viewing area of a mobile display device.

Abstract: Method and user interface for controlling an apparatus are provided. At least one dynamic bar is provided for displaying on a main screen of a graphical user interface for controlling the apparatus. Each dynamic bar is associated with respective one or more interfaces for applications and/or functions provided by the apparatus and each dynamic bar has a pop-up interface for providing at least one of preview information determined from information managed by the applications and/or functions and links to invoke said respective interfaces.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for identifying a current configuration of graphical representations displayed in a user interface presented by a computing device, each of the graphical representations being associated with a respective computer-executable application, determining at least one usage signal corresponding to each of the graphical representations, the usage signal reflecting user interaction with the respective associated computer-executable application, determining one or more success metrics indicative of an efficiency of the current configuration of graphical representations, generating, using an optimization technique, a modified configuration of graphical representations based on the usage signals and the one or more success metrics, and presenting, in the user interface, at least a portion of the modified configuration of graphical representations.

Abstract: A presence system is provided with a communications device associated with a presentity that is capable of displaying a respective presentity presence state indicating a respective availability of the presentity as provided by a presence system to each contact on a contact list of the presentity. The communications device includes a presence user client communicatively coupled to the presence system to receive presence information associated with the presentity, in which the presence information includes the respective presentity presence states for the contacts on the contact list, and a display for displaying the contact list and a respective representation of the respective presentity presence state for each contact on the contact list.

Abstract: A system for backend conversion attribution of an advertisement served to a user device. The advertisement server provides an advertisement to the user device. The advertisement server receives user information from the user device. The advertisement server stores attributable event information and the user information into an attributable event record in a data store. Based on a user event, a conversion server receives conversion information and the user information from the user device. The conversion server stores the conversion information and the user information into a conversion record in the data store. An attribution server matches the attributable event record with the conversion record.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium are disclosed. An application performs a close operation of windows displaying portions of a unit of information on a display. The portions of the unit of information are content of the unit of information. The close operation removes the windows from the display, and causes positioning information to be stored in the unit of information. The positioning information comprises at least one indicator of the portions of the unit of information that were displayed in the windows at a time of the close operation. The application performs an open operation. The displayed portions of the unit of information at the time of the close operation are redisplayed by the open operation in windows on the display in accordance with the positioning information in the unit of information.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for moving a Chinese input candidate word box and a mobile terminal, wherein the method includes: creating a candidate word box and drawing the candidate word box in a position within the range of a screen; analyzing and calculating a moving distance after generating an input signal, through directly dragging the candidate word box by a user or through operating a direction key or a direction soft key by the user to move the candidate word box; and destroying the candidate word box in situ when the moving distance is not beyond the range of the screen, and redrawing a candidate word box in a new position which the candidate word box is moved to.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer program product are provided for providing a cursor for indicating context data in a mapping application. An electronic device may display a map to a user via a mapping application having a cursor. A user may provide input selecting a type of context data to be represented by the cursor. The cursor may be positioned at a location on the map, and the electronic device may obtain context data based on the user input relating to the position and area proximate the position of the cursor on the map. The electronic device may then update a representation of the cursor using visual and other indicia to reflect the context data.

Abstract: A method of configuring a device to receive gesture inputs of a particular culture includes: responsive to a user request to adapt a device to gestures of a culture, assigning a data record representing cultural setting of the device to the culture, and responsive to the assigning the culture setting of the device, adopting a gesture recognizer of the device to the culture setting.

Abstract: Systems and methods for previewing edited video. In general, in one implementation, a method includes generating a video sequence from a plurality of video segments, identifying an inability to output at least one video segment in the video sequence in substantially real time; and adjusting an output level associated with the at least one video segment to enable the at least one video segment to be output in substantially real time. The output level may include a video quality or a frame rate.

Abstract: A method and a system are disclosed for function control using a display unit including a touch area and a non-touch area. The device includes an output area for displaying various types of screen data corresponding to execution applications, a control area for providing a graphical user interface (GUI) for controlling a function of the device, and a control unit for detecting execution of a particular application, configuring a screen comprising the output area and the control area in response to the executed application, and controlling a function of the device according to a user interaction occurring through the GUI in the control area.

Abstract: A network-management device includes a map storing unit and a map state storing unit. The map storing unit stores therein a map created based on information on network devices. The map state storing unit stores therein a creation state indicating that creation of the map is in process or completed in association with the map. When creation of the map is in process, disclosure of the map is prohibited, and all the network devices are notified that creation of the map is in process. When creation of the map is completed, it is checked whether all the network devices are laid out on the map. When all the network devices are laid out on the map, disclosure of the map is permitted.

Abstract: User interfaces for multiple display regions are described. One embodiment provides an array of non-overlapping windows that are created from a set of overlapping windows, and a user can select one of the non-overlapping windows to obtain an enlarged view of that selected window while keeping the other windows in their non-overlapping state. In one embodiment, the array of non-overlapping windows can include minimized windows or windows in other virtual desktops (e.g. windows in other “Spaces”) or both. In one embodiment, only windows of a selected application are shown in non-overlapping mode while opened windows of other applications are not shown.

Abstract: A media client presents a menu interface for a media client intercom and receives, via the menu interface, a signal from a user to initiate an intercom message. The media client receives a message input from the user, where the message input is provided through the human interface device, and converts the message input into a digital format to create a digitized message. The digitized message is sent, exclusively via a home media network, to another media client within the home media network.

Abstract: A change monitor as part of an online editor of a sequential function chart (SFC) programming environment monitors edits to a control routine. The change monitor provides warning to users before taking actions that would result in a reset of the control routine currently being executed by an industrial controller. The change manager reduces or eliminates many situations that would otherwise result in a reset as well by instructing online editor as to what language elements need to be assembled to implement the change. The change monitor also filters the manner in which reset warnings are given to reduce unnecessary distractions.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for operating a displayed area of an electronic map and a recording medium are provided. In the method, a displayed area of an electronic map is displayed first. Then, an indicating object of a point of interest (POI) located outside the displayed area is displayed on an edge of the displayed area towards a direction of the POI with respect to the displayed area. When the indicating object of the POI is selected, the displayed area of the electronic map is changed to the displayed area comprising the POI. Accordingly, users are able to quickly change the displayed area and check a location and related information of each POI in a simple operation manner.

Abstract: Methods and systems for connecting people for real time communications via a virtual reality environment. One embodiment includes: receiving a call for a real time communication session at a virtual object presented in a virtual reality world; indicating to a plurality of residents of the virtual reality world that the virtual object is being called; and responsive to an input from one resident of the plurality of residents, connecting the call to the resident for a real time communication session.

Abstract: A computerized application recommendation system includes a processor; and a memory communicatively coupled to the processor. The processor is configured to: receive usage data for applications in a category of applications from a plurality of users; and provide a first user with a recommendation for a first application in the category of applications based, at least in part, on a change in the usage data.
