Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for graphically mapping compatible processing updates. The method includes employing a processor for tracking updates for processing instruction packages. The method further includes determining compatibility between each of the processing instruction packages. The method additionally includes linking combinations of compatible processing instruction packages together. The method also includes providing a map of one or more combinations of linked compatible processing instruction packages and tracked updates for the plurality of processing instruction packages to a graphical user interface for facilitating selection of tracked updates for the plurality of processing instruction packages.

Abstract: A cell image display apparatus comprising: a parameter value obtainer for obtaining characteristic parameter values based on a plurality of cell images obtained by imaging a sample including the plurality of cells, wherein each of the characteristic parameter values respectively indicates characteristic of each of the cells; a type determiner for determining types of the cells based on the characteristic parameter values obtained by the parameter value obtainer; a display; and a display controller for controlling the display so as to display the cell images in a sequence based on the types of the cells obtained by the type determiner and the characteristic parameter values obtained by the parameter value obtainer. A method and a computer program product are also disclosed.

Abstract: A network-management device includes a map storing unit and a map state storing unit. The map storing unit stores therein a map created based on information on network devices. The map state storing unit stores therein a creation state indicating that creation of the map is in process or completed in association with the map. When creation of the map is in process, disclosure of the map is prohibited, and all the network devices are notified that creation of the map is in process. When creation of the map is completed, it is checked whether all the network devices are laid out on the map. When all the network devices are laid out on the map, disclosure of the map is permitted.

Abstract: Among other disclosure, a computer-implemented method of analyzing a form page for indexing includes identifying a form page that is configured for use in requesting any of multiple target pages. The form page includes multiple input controls. The method includes identifying at least one of the multiple input controls as being informative with regard to requesting the multiple target pages. The method includes updating an indexing record associated with the form page to reflect the identification.

The chat room or virtual world has a large common location where a large number of users might participate with their characters/avatars, but where because display of all of the participants and/or all of the area becomes impractical or otherwise unwieldy, the system determines an appropriate portion of the area and a limited number of avatars/characters to display based on some criteria.

Abstract: A method and system for facilitating the navigation of menu trees offered by service providers is provided. The method of facilitating menu tree options at a menu tree facilitator includes the steps of receiving a customer request from a customer at a menu tree service center, the request including a customer identification, and determining one menu tree from a plurality of menu trees based on the customer request, wherein each of the plurality of menu trees is associated with a service provider. The method also includes determining at least a portion of the determined menu tree based on the customer request; and sending the portion of the determined menu tree to the customer based on the determination. The menu tree facilitator is a separate entity from the service provider.

Abstract: A multimedia editing application includes a plurality of gestures that are used to control transport and playback, timing, editing, view management, and other functions of the application. The gestures have shapes or characteristics that are visually mnemonic of their associated functions or the objects on which the functions operate, but which themselves are not linguistic forms such as letters or numbers which are derived from the names of the associated functions. The visual mnemonics may connote the motion or shape of a part of the human body.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and methods for displaying alarms to a clinician in a ventilatory system. Specifically, embodiments described herein seek to optimize the informative presentation of alarms on a ventilator interface. Embodiments of the present disclosure may provide one or more selection elements, each selection element indicating a ranked alarm event. The ranking of an alarm event may be determined by alarm level. If two alarm events are associated with the same alarm level, the ranking of the alarm events may be determined by parameter priority. Alarm event ranking is communicated by display in a hierarchical structure. When an alarm event ranking changes, the alarm event may shift up or down the hierarchical structure, depending on whether the ranking increased or decreased.

Abstract: A portable electronic device having an input device for receiving a gesture based input from a user is used to control a navigation operation of an appliance. Abstract: Icons can be combined to form toolbars such as those appearing on computer desktops and within application windows such as web browsers. Small icons are desired because desktop real estate is expensive. Small icons can be difficult to select or open because it can be hard to confirm which icon is indicated. An icon is indicated when the desktop cursor hovers over it. Altering the indicated icon provides good user feedback. Icons can be changed varying their size. Non-indicated icons can revert to a minimum size while an indicated one grows to a maximum size. Different images can be displayed for different sized icons, producing a more pleasing appearance. Alternatively, icons can be presented as display images produced by morphing two images together using morphing functions and icon weights. Morphing includes growing and shrinking as well as color changes, animating, and so forth.
