Abstract: User interfaces for multiple display regions are described. One embodiment provides an array of non-overlapping windows that are created from a set of overlapping windows, and a user can select one of the non-overlapping windows to obtain an enlarged view of that selected window while keeping the other windows in their non-overlapping state. In one embodiment, the array of non-overlapping windows can include minimized windows or windows in other virtual desktops (e.g. windows in other “Spaces”) or both. In one embodiment, only windows of a selected application are shown in non-overlapping mode while opened windows of other applications are not shown.

  • Patent number: 9710155
Abstract: User input data and movement data relating to movement of a device to which the user input is made is monitored. The input data may be modified according to the movement data so that inadvertent inputs based on an unwanted tremors, bumps, or similar are accounted for. Data from an accelerometer may indicate sudden movement or bumps. The input data, such as handwriting for example, may then be modified based on the data from the accelerometer. Therefore, the device may determine the input as intended by the user.

  • Patent number: 9658769
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and articles of manufacture for a virtual touch screen keyboard. The method includes waiting for a movement of a mobile device. Upon movement of the device, the keyboard receives a measurement representing a position of the device from a sensor of the device. The keyboard determines whether an absolute value of the received measurement is greater than a pre-defined value. If the absolute value of the received measurement is greater than the pre-defined value, and the received measurement is negative, the keyboard displays a first portion of the virtual touch screen keyboard. If the absolute value of the received measurement is greater than the pre-defined value, and the received measurement is positive, the keyboard displays a second portion of the virtual touch screen keyboard. The first portion and the second portion of the virtual touch screen keyboard provide keys that are at least double in size to the keys provided on a conventional touch screen keyboard.

  • Patent number: 9652715
Abstract: A computer processor determines a first span of a communication, wherein a span includes content associated with one or more dialog statements. If the content of the first span contains one or more topic change indicators which are identified by at least one detector of a learning model, the computer processor, in response, generates scores for each of the one or more indicators. The computer processor aggregates scores of the one or more indicators of the first span, which may be weighted, to produce an aggregate score. The computer processor compares the aggregate score to a threshold value, wherein the threshold value is determined during training of the learning model, and the computer processor, in response to the aggregate score crossing the threshold value, determines a topic change has occurred within the first span.

  • Patent number: 9619104
Abstract: Computerized methods and interactive input systems for manipulation of 3D objects are disclosed. An image of 3D object is displayed on a 2D interactive surface, and input is received and is interpreted for manipulating the 3D object. When the 3D object is selected, rotation control handles indicating available rotation directions are displayed. In one embodiment, the method comprises capturing images of a 3D input space, recognizing at least one object in the images, and comparing the recognized objects in the images to determine a difference therebetween based on a difference threshold. Depending on the outcome of the comparison, the recognized objects are emerged and associated with digital content, or only one of the recognized objects is maintained and associated with digital content.

  • Patent number: 9594503
Abstract: A graphical user interface is provided for navigating and/or manipulating content simply via touch of a touch-sensitive surface. The content may include discrete content items (e.g., songs, video clips, documents, web pages) and/or actions (e.g., place a call, read a message, play a game), and may or may not be hierarchical in nature. The interface may be presented on a touch-screen display, such that a user may navigate to a content item or action via a single touch on the display (e.g., with a finger or other tool), followed by gliding through any number of levels or clusters of nodes (representing content items, content compilations/categories and/or actions). The desired content item or action may be initiated automatically (e.g., opened, performed) simply by touching it, by lifting the gliding finger or by performing some other input (e.g., tapping a node, speaking a command, touching with a second finger).

  • Patent number: 9588653
Abstract: This invention, a system for managing GUI documents, uses a set of graphical elements provided with computers having a graphical user interface operating system as presentation elements out of which can be made in a truly wysiwyg (what-you-wee-is-what-you-get) interface, multiple single page multimedia documents for presenting digital images, video, animations, graphics, audio, and text in different font faces, styles, and colors and implements functional equivalents of the HTML href (hyperlink) elements. A GUI document management system can be the centerpiece around which a wide variety of computer software applications can be made including collaborative document development systems, training and learning management systems, and document webs comparable to the World Wide Web. When used to develop document webs on the internet, the webs developed are fully read-write, a long sought but never achieved goal of the World Wide Web. GUI documents are also easier and faster to develop than HTML documents.
