  • Patent number: 7529555
Abstract: The modulation/demodulation unit modulates information to be transmitted, or demodulates information received. The time slot control unit allocates time slots to the terminal apparatus. The control signal processing unit extracts a signal indicating a disconnection request from a signal for requesting time slot allocation, received from the terminal apparatus in an inactive state in particular. The modulation mode control unit determines a modulation mode suitable for channel quality derived by the quality derivation unit. The modulation mode control unit determines to use a predetermined modulation mode when it receives an instruction for performing disconnection from the control signal processing unit.

  • Patent number: 7529219
Abstract: The registering work of a wireless LAN terminal and a wireless LAN access point has been troublesome especially to beginners. According to the wireless LAN communication system of this invention, the client terminal judges the necessity of registering the communication profiles, and if necessary, executes the register processing with the wireless LAN access point, which simplifies the registering work by the user. Here, the system requires the wireless LAN access point to switch the normal mode into the register request-accepting mode, which makes it possible to prevent the register processing from being executed with unintentional client terminals. Therefore, it is possible to provide a wireless LAN communication system that facilitates the registering work and achieves the security at a satisfactory level.

  • Patent number: 7526288
Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling operation states of a medium access control layer by a mobile subscriber station (MSS) in a broadband wireless access communication system. The method includes: state-transitioning into a sleep state or an idle state when there is no data transmitted between a base station and the MSS during a predetermined first time interval in an awake state; and performing a location change in the idle state when the mobile subscriber station moves from a first paging zone to a second paging zone, and state-transiting into the awake state when the mobile subscriber station in the idle state detects a paging to the mobile subscriber station. The method minimizes power consumption and maximizes efficiency in use of radio resources.

  • Patent number: 7512091
Abstract: A method for performing reverse link power control by determining the state of a reverse link data rate control bit in a mobile station according to variable thresholds that are set according to the size of a data packet to be transmitted. By considering the size of the data packet to be transmitted when setting the thresholds used to determine the state of the rate control bit, the increased sensitivity at higher data packet sizes of system stability to an incorrect determination of the state of the rate control bit may be accommodated. Furthermore, when a mobile station is located within a soft handoff area, the number of base stations transmitting rate control bits to the mobile station is considered when setting the variable thresholds.

  • Patent number: 7496374
Abstract: In a method for communication between a first station (BS1) and a second station (MS1) the first station may provide the second station with information associated with the manner how the second station should transmit towards the first station. The second station (MS1) may then transmit e.g. a response to a message from the first station (BS1) based on said information. That is, the second station (MS1) may e.g. use a specific transmission parameter for the transmission instead of transmitting in a manner the second station would have transmitted had it not been provided with said information. A communication system and stations for the communication system embodying the method are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7477880
Abstract: A communication device is provided which is capable of transmitting pickup images efficiently with high portability, manipulativity and instantaneous response. The communication device is disclosed in which according to one preferred embodiment, a control apparatus starts a communicating (such as radio transmission) operation in a communication apparatus simultaneous to an image pickup operation in an image pickup function when a predetermined operation is instructed by a manipulation of a manipulation apparatus from a user in a communication device having the image pickup function. Thereby, the pickup images obtained by the image pickup function are automatically transmitted to a specified transmission destination via a communicative apparatus. Thus, a user can transmit pickup images to a desired transmission destination simultaneously only by making a simple manipulation of changing the operating mode of the device to a predetermined mode or the like.
