  • Patent number: 11012664
Abstract: A video messaging system facilitates a video messaging session between a client device and a remote device. A remote device provides information (e.g., a link) to a client device for connecting to a video messaging session. The client device uses the provided information to connect to the video messaging session between the client device and the remote device. The video messaging session generally includes two-way communication, with at least video information being transmitted by the client device to the remote device, and instructions describing video operations being transmitted by the remote device to the client device. The video operations may include annotating the video, rewinding the video, pausing the video, and various other modifications to the video. The video messaging system may mirror operations performed on one device (e.g., the remote device) on the other device (e.g., the client device) in the video messaging session.

  • Patent number: 10999430
Abstract: An incoming communication is received. For example, an incoming voice call is received for a user. A rule is applied to the incoming communication. The rule is based on sensor information associated with the user, presence information associated with the user, and a prior history of handling communications by the user. In response to applying the rule to the incoming communication, a method of notifying the user of the incoming communication is determined. For example, a voice call may be converted to a text communication where the user is notified via text. The incoming communication is routed to a user communication device of the user based on the rule.

  • Patent number: 10992805
Abstract: A device, system and method for modifying workflows based on call profile inconsistencies is provided. A device monitors a call, received from a caller reporting an incident. The device performs one or more sentiment analysis and semantic analysis on one or more of: video of the caller on call; audio of the caller on call; and transcribed text of the audio of the call. The device determines a profile for the call, from a plurality of predetermined profiles stored at a memory accessible to the device, the plurality of predetermined profiles previously generated from historical data. In response to determining an inconsistency between the profile for the call and one or more of the sentiment analysis and the semantic analysis, the device determines a modified workflow for handling the call. The device provides, at a notification device, the modified workflow for handling the call reporting the incident.

  • Patent number: 10979561
Abstract: A telephony call connection process is provided which assumes that 100% of received calls have spoofed sources or contain otherwise untrustworthy caller-id (CID) information, and requires each caller to provide a prearranged personal identification number “PIN” (or secret code) associated with their caller-id (CID) in order to complete a connection. Additional mechanisms are provided to create and exchange the PIN (or secret code) in an environment in which the caller must first establish the ownership of the caller-id (CID) provided. The process described herein minimizes the risk of false positives and virtually eliminates the need for manual “screening” as is often required of the callee in similar systems. Furthermore, the process described herein is capable of operating entirely on the callee's equipment providing the same level of effectiveness entirely devoid of participation from any other switch or node in the call path or on the network.

  • Patent number: 10972518
Abstract: Technologies for audiovisual communication include an audiovisual server and a number of audiovisual client devices, including a presenter device and a number of audience devices. Each audience device captures an audiovisual stream and transmits the audiovisual stream to the audiovisual server. Each audience device also captures sensor input data such as eye tracking data or facial expression data and transmits abstracted sensor input data to the audiovisual server. The abstracted sensor input data may be based on the captured audiovisual stream. The audiovisual server determines an interestingness rating associated with each audience device based on the sensor input data, and selects one or more audiovisual streams based on the interestingness ratings. The audiovisual server transmits the selected audiovisual streams to the presenter device. The audiovisual server may update the interestingness rating algorithm based on feedback from the presenter device or the audience devices.

  • Patent number: 10951775
Abstract: A system detects abnormalities in a call signal indicative of call fraud. The system includes a first device situated in an originating call network and configured to send call signals to a second device situated in a terminating call network. The first device is coupled to a first registry to which it sends the call data from the sent signals for storage as originating call records. The second device is coupled to a second registry to which it sends the call data from the received signals for storage as terminating call records. The first and second registries exchange verification requests and responses to detect whether discrepancies exist between the stored originating call records in the first registry and stored terminating call records in the second registry. The registries generate alerts based on detected discrepancies, which may be used by the devices to block the call fraud.

  • Patent number: 10944940
Abstract: An intercom system for collective housing comprises a main entrance station with a camera, a residential entrance substation with a camera and a residential master station for each residence in the housing, a storage unit that stores videos (V1) of visitors shot by the camera of the main entrance station by associating the videos with residence IDs of the respective residences to visit, and a control unit. The control unit includes a check unit that checks the videos (V1) against a video (V2) shot by the camera of a residential entrance substation. If the check by the check unit indicates a match, the control unit compares the residence ID associated with the match stored in the storage unit with that of the residence in which a call button of the residential entrance substation has been operated. The operation of the call button is invalidated if the IDs are different.

  • Patent number: 10911501
Abstract: Certain examples described herein provide a method for providing a collaborative session over a network. In these examples, a collaborative session is a series of geographically-separated temporally-coordinated events, such as a performance or concert. In examples, a global latency is set for the collaborative session. The global latency is set to a value greater than a longest latency for a plurality of client devices engaging in the collaborative session, and is defined as a function of a temporal rate for the series of temporally-coordinated events. During the collaborative session data streams are received from the plurality of client devices and presentation of the received data streams on the plurality of client devices is synchronised to enforce the global latency.

  • Patent number: 10906475
Abstract: This application provides a prompt method, applied to a portable device adsorbed on a magnetic holder. The method includes: a display of the portable device being off; and detecting, by the portable device, that a parameter related to a magnetic induction intensity deviates from a preset threshold range, lightening the display of the portable device when, before, or after outputting a voice prompt, and displaying, on the display, prompt information about moving the portable device. By using this method, a user can learn, in time, that the adsorption of the portable device on the magnetic holder is unstable, and move the portable device based on the prompt information, so that the portable device can be stably adsorbed on the magnetic holder, thereby effectively preventing the portable device from sliding down from the magnetic holder.
