  • Patent number: 10893232
Abstract: Video communications of residents of a controlled-environment facility are monitored to detect instances of non-verbal communications within the video, such as the display of written messages and hand signals. Residents may participate in live video visitation sessions with non-residents. Video recordings are generated for each video feed of the live video visitation. During the live video visitation, indications of non-verbal communications displayed in the live video are detected. If indications of non-verbal communications are detected in the live video, the recorded video is annotated to specify the locations of the detected indications in the recording. Upon completion of the video visitation session, post-processing of the recorded video detects additional indications of displayed non-verbal communication.

  • Patent number: 10880519
Abstract: A panoramic video conferencing server is disclosed. The server is operational to capture an audio stream via an array of microphones. The captured audio stream is de-multiplexed to extract audio for a plurality of audio zones. A region of interest (ROI) is determined for a plurality of client devices to which a panoramic video is being streamed. The ROI is determined based on a zoom information which is inputted by any one of the client devices. A modified audio channel associated with the panoramic video being streamed to at least one of the client devices is generated for each of the client devices. The modified audio channel is adjusted to coincide with directionality of an audio corresponding to the associated region of interest (ROI) inputted by the at least one of said client device and the modified audio channel is adjusted to mute audio corresponding to the audio zones other than the audio zone associated with the ROI.

  • Patent number: 10873721
Abstract: An online system customizes video conversations between users of the online system. During a video conversation, the online system presents a composite view to the participating users. The composite view may include visual representations of the users, a background graphic, or other types of graphics such as masks and props that the users can wear or interact with in the environment of the video conversation. The visual representations may be generated based on a live video feed of the users or include avatars of the users. The online system can determine the graphics based on information about the users. For instance, the online system determines a background graphic showing a location that the users have each visited. Upon viewing the background graphic, the users may be encouraged to interact with the background graphic or other graphics included in the composite view, which can promote an engaging video conversation experience.

  • Patent number: 10868910
Abstract: A process is described for a call management system to provide a call transcription supervisory monitoring interactive dashboard of incoming calls at a command center. A plurality of incoming calls are received including a first call reflecting a first incident and a second call reflecting a second incident. Audio from the first and second calls are transcribed. First and second incoming call objects are displayed in a call-by-call portion of the interactive dashboard. The transcripts are cross-referenced with a call-by-call keyword database to identify call-by-call keywords of interest, and the incoming call objects are populated with the call-by-call keywords of interest. An all-call object is displayed in an all-call portion of the interactive dashboard. The transcripts are cross-referenced with an all-call keyword database to identify all-call keywords of interest, and the all-call object is populated with the all-call keywords of interest.

  • Patent number: 10841543
Abstract: In a battery-powered audio/video recording and communication device having a camera, the length of a preset interval (the interval between instances of the device sending a request to a network to check whether any user requests to access the camera have been received) may be adjusted upward or downward in order to balance the competing interests of reducing latency (e.g. reducing the delay that the user may experience when trying to access the camera) and conserving battery life. The present embodiments advantageously balance these competing interests by initially setting the length of the preset interval to be relatively short to reduce latency, but automatically increasing the length of the preset interval as the battery charge is depleted, thereby extending battery life. The present embodiments also advantageously enable the length of the preset interval to be decreased after the battery is recharged, thereby reducing latency.

  • Patent number: 10832253
Abstract: Embodiments for presenting real-time contact options are described herein. In example embodiments, as system identifies a number of user devices actively viewing a web page that includes a real-time contact option. The system then determines whether the number of user devices actively viewing the web page that includes the real-time contact option exceeds a predetermined limit. If the number of user devices actively viewing the web page that includes the real-time contact option exceeds the predetermined limit, the system prevents presentation, to a further user device, of the real-time contact option on the web page. Conversely, if the number of user devices actively viewing the web page that includes the real-time contact option does not exceed the predetermined limit, the system causes presentation of the web page with the real-time contact option to the further user device.
