  • Patent number: 8243627
Abstract: Supporting virtual private networks by using a new layer 3 address to encapsulate a network-bound packet so that its context information, from which a layer 2 (e.g., MAC) address can be derived, is preserved. If this encapsulation was not done, the layer 2 address would change over each segment of the network. Thus, the encapsulation preserves the concept of group identification, using at least a part of the context, over the entire network and not just at the edge of the network. If a packet is received from the network (to be forwarded to a customer), the layer 3 address that was added in the encapsulation is stripped off. The original layer 3 destination address may be used with a client device addressing table to determine a new context information, and a layer 2 (e.g., MAC) address of a destination client device.

  • Patent number: 8228888
Abstract: Methods and systems for optimizing the efficiency of simultaneous data transfers throughout a data network are provided. In the system, a time division system clock includes a network time division clock policy having a plurality of time slots. The network time division clock policy identifies a unique clock code for each of the time slots. Also, a source node and a destination node each include a portion of the network time division clock policy. The time division system clock continuously transmits the unique clock code identified for a particular time slot to the source node and the destination node during the duration of the time slot. Based on the clock code, the source nodes determines if it is assigned a communication channel to transmit collision-free data to the destination node during the duration of the particular time slot.

  • Patent number: 8203946
Abstract: A system and method, e.g., Voice Proxy Server (VPS), is described for managing Voice over IP (VoIP) services between a NAT enabled private network and a public network such as the Internet. The VPS acts like the Call Agent to the nodes in the private network and it represents an embedded voice client to the real Call Agent in the public network. Each logical line of the VPS corresponds to a real voice line in the private node. VoIP signaling messages may be carried in the payload of the IP packets. VPS will properly translate IP address and/or port number information in the payload to correctly route the signaling data between networks. Additionally, VPS will forward the incoming Real Time Protocol (RTP) packets to the real destination in the private network.

  • Patent number: 8204084
Abstract: Systems and methods enable adaptive, single bit-timeslot granular digital multiplexing capable of automatically and dynamically selecting an appropriate input bit from a set of alternative input ports, based on a current status of the alternative inputs. The invention enables input-status-adaptive, dynamic multiplexing of individual bits from multiple, e.g. byte-wide, input ports onto, e.g. a byte-wide, multiplexer output. An input status adaptive, dynamic, bit-granular M-by-M digital cross-connect can be formed out of an arrangement of M (an integer) instances of the input-controllable adaptive M:1 multiplexers. An application is a synchronous, digital network channel that can be dynamically shared, even at a single bit time-slot granularity, among multiple path sources, which furthermore can be located even at different network nodes.

  • Patent number: 8203648
Abstract: In encoding an interlace picture in a field picture, a motion-vector detecting apparatus changes over a reference picture of a P-picture in a field unit, and changes over a reference picture of a B-picture in a frame unit. Moreover, in detecting the motion vector in different predictive directions, the motion-vector detecting apparatus simultaneously carries out a process of the same reference picture by changing over original picture frames.

  • Patent number: 8154982
Abstract: An apparatus. method, and system for dynamically assigning orthogonal codes to different information signals communicated between a Node B and user equipment in a cellular radio communication system in which a fixed number of codes are allocated between dedicated transport channels (DCHs) and high speed downlink shared channels (HS-DSCHs). A radio controller (RNC) allocates a minimum number of codes for HS-DSCH physical channels (HS-PDSCH codes) to the Node B. The Node B determines HS-PDSCH codes that are not currently being utilized and allocates HS-PDSCH codes from the unused codes without having to communicate with the RNC. When the additional HS-PDSCH codes are needed for DCH codes, the Node B reallocates the codes for DCH purposes without reducing the number of HS-PDSCH codes below the allocated minimum.

  • Patent number: 8139150
Abstract: A multi-view video signal is encoded. The multi-view video signal includes picture signals corresponding to different viewpoints respectively. One among the viewpoints is designated as a base viewpoint. The base viewpoint corresponds to a picture signal which is encoded without referring to at least one picture signal corresponding to one of the viewpoints except the base viewpoint. There is determined a desired delay time of the start of decoding a coded signal originating from each of the picture signals corresponding to the viewpoints except the base viewpoint relative to the start of decoding a coded signal originating from the picture signal corresponding to the base viewpoint. Information representing the determined delay time is generated. Then, the generated information is encoded.
