  • Patent number: 6526555
Abstract: The present invention introduces methods for implementing gridless non Manhattan architecture for integrated circuits. In one particular embodiment, an integrated circuit layout containing horizontal, vertical, and diagonal interconnect lines is first created. Next, the integrated circuit layout is then compacted. The compacting method first creates groups of horizontal and diagonal interconnect lines sorted by vertical position and groups of vertical and diagonal interconnect lines sorted by horizontal position. The two groups are then compacted in a manner that ensures that a minimum manufacturing line spacing requirement is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 6521910
Abstract: A structure of a test key for monitoring self-aligned silicide (salicide) residues has of a silicon substrate, multiple parallel diffusion regions formed on the silicon substrate, multiple polysilicon lines formed on the silicon substrate, a dielectric layer covering the multiple polysilicon lines and the multiple diffusion regions, and multiple metallic test fingers formed on the dielectric layer. The multiple polysilicon lines are set across the multiple diffusion regions to form multiple contact regions, each contact region having an ion well, in the multiple diffusion regions, and each of the multiple metallic test fingers is orthogonal to the multiple polysilicon lines and electrically connected with each ion well via a contact plug.

  • Patent number: 6498044
Abstract: A capacitor having a perovskite series dielectric film, and manufacturing method thereof are provided. The perovskite series dielectric film capacitor is characterized in that the perovskite series dielectric film contains copper. The method of manufacturing the perovskite series dielectric film which contains copper includes forming the perovskite series dielectric film on a lower electrode, forming a CuXO film on the perovskite series dielectric film, and permitting CuXO or copper of the CuXO film to penetrate the perovskite series dielectric film preferably by a heat treatment. In the perovskite series dielectric film capacitor, CuXO or copper penetrates the grain boundary of the perovskite series dielectric film having a columnar crystal structure, thereby improving a leakage current characteristic of the perovskite series dielectric film.

  • Patent number: 6417063
Abstract: A deep trench capacitor, in accordance with the present invention, includes a deep trench formed in a substrate having a storage node formed therein. A center node is capacitively coupled to the storage node. The center node is disposed within the deep trench and formed inside the storage node. A first buried strap is provided for accessing the storage node, and a second buried strap is electrically isolated from the storage node and formed in contact with the center node and a buried plate. The center node is formed to provide additional capacitive area to the deep trench capacitor. A method for forming the deep trench capacitor in accordance with the present invention is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6226498
Abstract: A correspondence table is stored in a mobile switching center. In the correspondence table, at least one local area code for a geographical subarea is assigned to each authorization organization number of an authorization organization. Furthermore, a supervision file is stored in which a mobile subscriber number is entered for a mobile subscriber who is to be monitored. When an attempt is made to set up a connection from/to the mobile subscriber, the correspondence table is used to determine whether respective authorization organizations are authorized to monitor the communications link in the geographical subarea in which the mobile subscriber is located. A configuration for monitoring communications links is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6212376
Abstract: Methods are provided for inhibiting and allowing alarm handling and displaying when an alarm is inhibited in a digital cellular system. A method for inhibiting alarm handling in a digital cellular system includes the step of inputting an Inhibit Alarm On/Off (INH-ALM-ONOFF) command in a base station manager (BSM). The range of the system to inhibit alarm handling and the type of alarm to be inhibited is set up. An option of inputted variables corresponding to the steps of setting up the range and the type of the alarm are checked. A state of equipment of program loaded data (PLD) is checked to determine whether one of a component group and components groups of the digital cellular system corresponding to the range is in use. It is then determined whether the alarm has occurred. Counts are reduced by as many times as occurrences of the alarm and clearing the alarm, when the alarm has occurred. It is then determined whether the alarm is performed with an Inhibit Alarm Message (INH-ALM-MSG).

  • Patent number: 6198921
Abstract: An integrated satellite/cell system and equipment that provides low-cost telephony services to remote/rural and other previously non-served areas. Local communications is through wireless cell technology with inter cell communication between cells and between cells and the public switched telephone network supported through existing, non-processing satellites by means of satellite earth terminal stations at the remote sites. A demand assigned multiple access satellite network controlled through a open channel signaling and data provides single-hop, full mesh connectivity. The cell can be any cellular or cordless phone technology.

  • Patent number: 6178323
Abstract: A radio terminal 1 has a self-terminal information storing section 4 for storing terminal information of its own, an other terminal information storing section 3 for temporarily storing terminal information which is sent from other radio terminals, and a master determining section 2 for determining a radio terminal appropriate for being a tentative master, based on the stored terminal information. This master determining section 2 determines the tentative master based on the specified information of the terminal information such as transmission power, battery information and network address information. Since, if a user selects an appropriate radio terminal and starts the construction of a temporary network, the radio terminal acquires terminal information of all other terminals and determined an optimum tentative master, the network is then constructed while being the determined tentative master as a center, and communication can be conducted.

  • Patent number: 6178334
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a communications network including a base station and two or more distributed cells which are remote from the base station. The cells are coupled to the base station by transmission mediums which may, for example, be cable, fiber, and/or air. Between the base station and each cell, there is a time delay or transmission time, between the time when a communication that is received at one of the two is transmitted to and is received by the other of the two. The time delays of the two cells are unique or distinct one from the other. The network includes a time responsive system which is responsive to the time delay for a communication between the base station and one of the cells. Since the time delays are distinctive, the time responsive system identifies the cell associated with the communication. The time delays of the cells may be inherent in the circuitry and transmission mediums between the base station and the cells.
