  • Patent number: 10999431
Abstract: A system and a method for switching call agents in telecommunications relay service includes a TRS server system. The TRS server system includes a voice handler for processing voice data, a text handler for processing text data, and a controller for controlling, establishing, and terminating voice paths and data paths. The voice handler transmits a peer's voice to a first CA such that the first CA transcribes and converts the peer's voice into text data. The text handler receives the text data generated by the first CA. The controller selects a second CA; establishes a voice path and a data path between the second CA and the TRS server system; and terminate the voice path and data path associated with the first CA.

  • Patent number: 10992799
Abstract: Disclosed are example methods, systems, and devices for allowing caller computing devices to authenticate calls via a service provider computing system. Users may opt to have entities register to contact the user with a positive ID, icon, or other notification on the user's computing device transmitted by the service provider computing system. A caller computing device may use a unique security token of the user to activate the notification on the user's device. The user device may be used to exert control over the security token via a service provider client application running on the user device. The caller computing device may initiate authentication via an API call to the service provider computing system. The caller computing device is able to have items (text, images, documents, etc.) delivered to the user computing device if authenticated.

  • Patent number: 10986227
Abstract: A system, device and method for balancing resource usage at a plurality of computing terminals is provided. Predicted dispatcher workload is generated for one or more of channels and talkgroups, based on crime analysis data for one or more of regions and first responders associated with the one or more of the channels and the talkgroups. Subsets of the one or more of the channels and the talkgroups are assigned to the plurality of dispatcher terminals based at least on the predicted dispatcher workload for the one or more of the channels and the talkgroups and respective dispatcher profiles. Communications at each of the plurality of dispatcher terminals are controlled based on the assigning of the subsets of the one or more of the channels and the talkgroups to the plurality of dispatcher terminals.

  • Patent number: 10986226
Abstract: When a customer service representative (CSR) calls a customer, the customer may be able to authenticate himself or herself by providing the CSR with personal identifying information. However, the CSR may be unable to provide information to authenticate himself or herself to the customer. Thus, this patent document describes authentication techniques that can allow the CSR to authenticate himself or herself to the customer. For example, before or during a call that the second person (e.g., CSR) initiates to call a first person (e.g., customer), a notification message may be sent to the first person's user device. The content of notification message displayed on the user device may provide information to the first person which can allow the first person to determine whether the second person is trustworthy.

  • Patent number: 10904398
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include a method for offline charging performed by an anchoring node of a telecommunications network. The anchoring node can send a request to an online charging system (OCS), where the request is for online metering of a call by a subscriber of the telecommunications network. The anchoring node may obtain an indication of an exception to the online metering of the call. In response, the anchoring node can perform a default call handling (DCH) procedure to allow the call on the telecommunications network despite an inability to perform the online metering. The anchoring node also generates a modified charging detail record (CDR) that includes an indication of the exception. The anchoring node can then send a message, which includes at least an indication of the modified CDR, to enable a mediation server to perform offline charging for the call.

  • Patent number: 10880430
Abstract: Automatic testing/analysis of local loops of telecommunications networks includes obtaining bits-per-tone data for a local loop of a telecommunications network and generating a bit value string from the bits-per-tone data. The bit value string is then analyzed to determine whether it includes a bit pattern indicative of an impairment of the local loop. Further approaches for automatically testing local loops of telecommunications networks include obtaining attenuation data for multiple tones carried by the local loop and determining whether the attenuation data falls below thresholds for providing a service using the local loop.
