  • Patent number: 4993953
Abstract: A display holder for displaying proposed arrangements of pictures, artwork, mats, picture frames, and the like, has a base support and a generally rectangular display base pivotally connected to thereto and a transparent rectangular cover/holding member pivotally connected to the display base to substantially cover the front surface of the display base with its corners aligned with the corners of the base. Guide lines on the front surface of the display base aid in strategically placing flat materials such as artwork, posters, photographs, mat corner samples, etc., on the display base. Clips on the cover/holding member allow flat materials such as mat samples to be releasably secured firmly against the cover/holding member. Flat materials are placed on the front surface of the display base and the transparent cover/holding member closed thereon and sample mat materials are secured on the front surface of the cover/holding member.

  • Patent number: 4979902
Abstract: Method and apparatus for restricting field of vision so as to provide a dyslexic reader physical means for narrowing field-of-sight concentration in order to prevent eye wander and aid in normal compensatory sight narrowing by the reader. The method comprises an obfuscation of the peripheral field of vision while concurrently focusing or providing clear viewing means in the centralized, enhanced narrow reading field. The aforesaid method is readily accomplished by use of either the pin-hole camera, consisting of a minute aperture in an eye-enveloping, obfuscating field or, more practically, a set of spectacles consisting essentially of opacified or defocusing lenses having with them a centralized clear field-of-vision lens, window or aperture which effectively accomplishes in both eyes of the dyslexic reader what the pin-hole aperture does for a single eye.

  • Patent number: 4976621
Abstract: Apparatus for styling a hair replacement, the apparatus consisting of a headblock, in two forms, each form presenting an edge which simulates the front hairline of the ultimate user of the hair replacement whereby the edge may be utilized in styling the hair replacement when it is placed in overlying relationship to the headblock after manufacture and for styling. In one form, the edge is created by forming a flat face on the headblock and on the other form by defining a concavity in the face area of the headblock, the concavity having an upper wall which presents an edge for use in styling. The method of using the apparatus involves utilizing such a headblock by placing a hair replacement over the scalp area of the headblock with a portion of the hair replacement extending over the edge and then styling the hair replacement and leaving a portion of the hair replacement extending over the edge after styling so that when placed upon the head of the user the hair replacement will have a natural appearance.

  • Patent number: 4971559
Abstract: A globe, comprising: a stationary base; a day and night boundary ring mounted on the stationary base; an arm supported at its base end by the day and night boundary ring so as to be rotatable around a first axial line; and a spherical globe main body rotatably supported by a free end of the arm so as to be rotatable around its earth's axis; the first axial line defining the ecliptic angle with respect to a vertical line. According to this globe, the distribution of the regions of day and night in any time of the day and in any time of the year can be readily demonstrated by means of the day and night boundary ring simply by turning the globe body around the earth's axis and the first axial line, respectively, without using any complicated structure.
