Abstract: A diet planning system and method providing a plurality of sets of cards, the cards of each set having a common code, preferably a color code. Within each set there are a plurality of cards for each meal. By selecting on a given day a give color coded set, and substituting freely to select any card within a meal group, the dieter will be provided with information for complete meals on that day which satisfy the dieter's macronutrient and micronutrient goals at a plurality of different calorie intake levels. The different sets can provide variety or be provided for a special purpose, such as special days, i.e., weekend days, special diets, or special dieters, such as for children or teenagers.

Abstract: A test kit and method of use. The kit comprises at least one indicia bearing test sheet, at least one associated, indicia-bearing, instruction sheet, one indicia-bearing marker for the test sheet, and a binder for the sheets. The test sheet bears indicia forming one target icon and a plurality of answer icons. One of the answer icons is identical to the target icon, and the others of the answer icons are similar to the target icon yet somewhat different in appearance. The answer icons are located at predetermined locations on the test sheet. The marker comprises a transparent member bearing indicia corresponding exactly to the target icon. The instruction sheet bears plural respective instructional text at locations corresponding to the locations of the answer icons on the test sheet. Each of the text provides information describing the differences and/or similarities between the target icon and that answer icon which is located in the same respective position on the test sheet.

Abstract: A structural model of the human craniomandibular system, comprises a cranium part, a flexible column formed by a plurality of vertebra parts interconnected by at least two elastic bands and by universal couplings, the top vertebra part rotatably supporting the cranium part. The cranium part is provided in opposite side faces thereof with cavities serving as bearing surfaces. A mandible part has top faces adapted to cooperate with said bearing surfaces and form a joint for movement of the mandible part, according to several degrees of freedom. Further, there are provided a hyoid part, a sternum part (41), a pair of clavicle parts coupled with said sternum part by universal couplings as well as a pair of scapula parts coupled with a respective clavicle part by universal couplings, the aforementioned parts being interconnected by a plurality of resilient members, arranged in pairs, which simulate the muscle functions.

Abstract: An artificial denture-skull for dental teaching and practice purposes, consisting of a model of an upper jaw or maxilla equipped with teeth and with a model of a lower jaw or mandible equipped with teeth, the last of which is pivotally connected with the upper jaw model through two jaw linkages which are arranged at both sides of the jaw models whereby for fixing the denture-skull in an open position, a downwardly extending latching device is provided on the upper jaw model and which able to be brought into engagement with the lower jaw model. For the most possibly complete simulation of the human head, the denture-skull is also connectable with a cranial cavity-forming skull portion, as well as with a pocket-shaped covering which possesses an oral aperture.

Abstract: An organizer and dispenser device is provided for holding and dispensing a plurality of blood sample needle holders maintained at a nursing station for use sequentially during the taking of blood samples from patients. The elongated device of the invention includes a rack-like body with opposed walls for maintaining the base flanges of the needle holders in orderly fashion and for dispensing the holders one by one. The basic u-shaped structure may include one or more modifications for holding the bases of the needle holders in place prior to dispensing. Also, the basic u-shaped structure may be duplicated back-to-back for doubling the quantity of holders available for dispensing.

Abstract: An absortent re-usable patient underpad is formed of four layers of fabric comprisig from to top bottom: a polyester-rayon needle form non-woven fabric, non-woven polyester; thermoplastic unrethane; and a synthetic fleece warpknit fabric. The first layer is placed through an iron and heated to temperatures substantially at 380 to 400 degrees F. the second, third, and fourth layers are bonded together.

Abstract: A model for the demonstration of the human organ system, including organs of the digestive system. The model includes a foldable support surface having the shape of a human silhouette. An abdominal tray is attached to the mid-section of the support surface and a first group of elements representative of human organs is housed within the abdominal tray. In an adult embodiment of the model, the first group of elements includes elements representing a human liver, pancreas, gall bladder and associated ducts. A second group of elements is partially housed within the abdominal tray and is removable. The second group, as provided in the adult embodiment of the model, includes elements representing a human esophagus, stomach, greater omentum, small intestine, mesentery, appendix, large intestine and rectum. Both the first and second groups of elements are substantially comprised of a flexible material such as a color-coded calico, cotton cloth. Ducts may be comprised of color-coded chenille stems.

Abstract: A device for use in aiding a snowboard trainee in practicing a variety of snowboard maneuvers is disclosed herein having an elongated platform conformal to and simulating a miniature snowboard, including a slightly up-curved tail and a more pronounced upwardly curved nose. The plateform nose and tail are integrally joined by a flat midportion carrying a pair of attachment pads on its upper surface adapted to be detachably connected with a pair of finger couplers carried on the fingertips of the user. Attachment devices releasably connect the finger couplers with the attachment pads.

Abstract: A dental hygiene instructional display using a humanoid figure providing a facial expressing exhibiting representations of human teeth in adjacent upper and lower jaws. The teeth are divided into sectors and a pair of light emitting diodes of different colors are dedicated to flashingly illuminate each of the sectors, in sequence. A circuit for controlling illumination of the light emitting diodes adjustably controls both the duration of the period of brushing devoted to each sector, as well as the flash period during illumination of each cycle.

Abstract: An absorbent article embodied as a disposable diaper construction has been particularly configured for improved fit and comfort by the provision of a center gathering arrangement. In the illustrated embodiments, the diaper includes an absorbent panel structure which is positioned between associated facing and backing layers, and further includes an arrangement of one or more elastic elements which extend longitudinally of the diaper. By this arrangement, a longitudinal gathering force is created on the absorbent panel of the diaper, whereby the diaper is shortened to improve its fit, thus enhancing comfort for the wearer as well as inhibiting leakage from the diaper.

Abstract: A panty brief for holding a diaper comprises at least one holding part (10). According to the invention, the holding part is produced integrally with the front piece and/or the back piece. The holding part (10) may consist of threads (11) which are not knitted together with the remainder of the bag side (1) and which are placed symmetrically to hold a diaper symmetrically in relation to leg openings (5,6). The panty brief is made in endless lengths and is shown as it appears after the production with the wrong side turned out. Accordingly, after the production and severing the only operations required are to turn the panty brief inside out and to place the diaper in the holding part (10). Hereby, a panty brief is achieved which securely holds a diaper and which may be produced in endless lengths without the need of any afterfashioning.

Abstract: A trencher tooth pattern demonstration fixture for simulating positions of trencher teeth on an elongated trencher chain having a plurality of pitches spaced about the length of the chain. The demonstration fixture includes an elongated base having an elongated opaque indicia representative of the trencher chain and transverse pitch indicia representative of trencher chain pitches. A plurality of trencher tooth receiving slots are formed in the base adjacent the pitch indicia at spaced positions on opposite sides of the chain indicia. Trencher teeth are positioned in the slots in a desired pattern with respect to the chain and pitch indicia for visual evaluation and display.

The cover has a bottom layer in the form of a sheet of plastic material that is impermeable to moisture, an intermediate fluid absorbent layer that functions as a blotter that will absorb and disperse any fluid it comes in contact with, and a top layer in the form of a sheet of material of semi-permeable material that will permit the flow of fluids into the intermediate fluid absorbent layer. A pre-formed corner pocket is formed at the respective corners of the cover and adhesive pads are attached to their bottom surface for detachably securing them to the corners of a table upon which the absorbent disposable cover has been placed. The covers are folded into a compact rectangular shape and stacked in a carton having a cutout slot in its top wall.

Abstract: A compact and short tampon applicator is formed of an outer barrel which surrounds a tampon-holding inner tubular plunger which is slidable within the outer barrel. A portion of the wall of the plunger defines a pair of hinged panels which snap into the interior of the plunger in response to an inwardly directed radial force. This inward force is supplied by a tab on the barrel, once the plunger has been retracted sufficiently out of the barrel to register the hinged panels with the tab. The applicator is readied for use by retracting the plunger rearwardly behind the tampon, sufficiently to cause the hinged panels to engage the tab on the inner surface of the barrel to snap into the plunger. After insertion of the barrel into the catamenial canal, the plunger is pressed inward, back into the barrel, to enable its inwardly snapped panels to engage the rear of the tampon and to eject the tampon through the front of the barrel.
