Abstract: A novel gauging device and associated stencils facilitate the shaping of eyebrows according to a Golden Ratio standard. The gauging device is adapted to be placed over a woman's face and maintained in a fixed position relative to her eyes and nose. A nosepiece and knobs are adjusted such that a lower end of a guide rod may be rotated about various points relative to the nose and held in predetermined angles relative to the nose and eyes, possibly supported magnetically on a lower track adjacent the nostrils and an upper track above the eyebrows. An eyebrow stencil is held in a desired position relative to the previously positioned guide rod, which facilitates convenient application and symmetrical shaping, preferably with frictional clamps for permitting the stencil to be shifted in place so that a particular portion of the stencil is properly aligned with the guide rod after the guide rod has been aligned with an appropriate Golden Ratio marking on the stencil.

Abstract: A disposable body lotion applicator and method of application in which removable gloves with an impermeable surface on the inside and an absorbent material on the front side are adhered to a substrate which is temporarily adhered to a wall or other suitable surface at a preferred height and position with two-sided sticky tape or other suitable weak adhesive and on which body lotion is applied first to allow a person to spread lotion on his own entire back without holding the applicator by rubbing the back against the applicator and then in which the gloves are removed from the substrate to finish applying lotion to the body without getting lotion on the hands.

Abstract: A hair styling device is described that has a handle, an elongated, substantially cylindrical, heatable rod providing a curling surface and supported by the handle, a heater for heating the curling surface, a support spaced apart from the curling surface, and a rotatable member rotatable relative to the curling surface for wrapping hair around and in contact with the curling surface. The device has an opening in the rotatable member for receiving a section of a user's hair, a motor for rotating the rotatable member, and a flexible, heat-resistant clamp supported by the support and extending from the support toward the curling surface for clamping hair against the curling surface.

Abstract: A stylus for use in the application of a cosmetic includes a wand member having a beveled end with a bevel angle and a second end opposite the beveled end; a cup member having beveled end with the bevel angle and second end opposite the beveled end; a connection member comprising one of a magnet or a metallic material, the connection member being fixably attached to the second end of the cup member; and a protrusion extending from the end face of the second end of the cup member; wherein the wand member and cup member are rotatably connected along an axis of rotation at their respective beveled ends.

Abstract: We disclose a cosmetic box inspired by the traditional Asian design. The box comes equipped with electrical apparatus for drying and sterilizing make-up. A fan is mounted within the box. When the drawers are ajar, the fan blows air toward the user's face and hair. When the drawers are removed, the user may insert her hands into the drawer cavity to dry her nail polish. Ultra-violet light bulbs are also mounted within the box. The bulbs assist in the sterilization of nail polish as well as the contents of the box.

Abstract: Representative implementations of devices and techniques provide an adjustable keeper device for securing strands, such as strands of hair, for example. The keeper device includes one or more flexible guides for conducting a cord in a desired path. The flexible guides act as a conduit to route the cord and prevent strands from snagging with cord movement. The flexible guides and the cord are operable to secure the strands in a desired position. In some implementations, the keeper device includes an interchangeable vanity cover, removeably attached to the keeper device.

Abstract: A device for curling hair, and/or styling hair includes a handle, a first arm and a second arm. The first and second arms are arranged side-by-side and parallel to one another and extend substantially along a longitudinal axis of the device. The device includes at least one heating element for heating the first and/or second arm. At least the first arm includes a fixed hemi-arm that is solid with the handle and fixed in orientation and a mobile hemi-arm elastically supported by and movable relative to said fixed hemi-arm.

Abstract: A method of making a cosmetic applicator assembly is described. The cosmetic applicator assembly includes an applicator head comprising an applicator front portion having at least a first surface, a second surface, and a multiplicity of apertures extending between the first surface and the second surface, at least one applicator component protruding from the at one least aperture and attachable to the applicator front portion, and an applicator back portion fixed to the applicator front portion so as to cover the second surface of the applicator front portion.

Embodiments include a hair product including a first layer, a second layer having an open weave structure, a third layer, the first and third layers encasing the second layer, and a plurality of strands of hair, each of the plurality of strands of hair being affixed to the second layer and extending therefrom. Other embodiments include a hair piece including a base comprising first, second, and third layers, the first and third layers at least partially encasing the second layer, and a plurality of strands of hair extending from the second layer.

Abstract: Eyelash extensions and a method for applying the same are described. The eyelash extensions comprise a first filament having both a proximal end and a distal portion with a distal end. The method for applying the eyelash extensions comprises acts of fastening the user's eyelashes against the user's face and attaching multiple layers of eyelash extensions (the proximal end) to the user's eyelashes. Each of the multiple layers is applied one layer at a time, thereby providing a user with eyelashes having eyelash extensions attached thereto.

Abstract: A headband assembly includes a lower band element and an upper band element. The lower band element has upstanding flanges that define a cavity to provide for storage of personal items such as eyeglasses, lipstick, lip balm, etc., and the flanges include a plurality of reliefs or notches therein for making the lower band flexible. The upper band element pivots with respect to the lower element and includes a lock mechanism. The lower band element also includes a plurality of coupling members in the form of rows of rod-shaped bar members for receiving and coupling with a clip. The clip member may be coupled to a hair accessory which may include any known or appropriate accessory. The coupling members are integrated in the lower band on the front and back sides of the upstanding flanges as well as on the bottom surface of the lower band to provide greater flexibility and accessorizing options. The ornamental designs of the headband, eyeglass frame, and clips are also disclosed.

Abstract: A cosmetic powder container includes a container for receiving cosmetic powders, a makeup tool for applying the cosmetic powders out of the container, and a soft press disc for moving the cosmetic powders in the container to the makeup tool. The container includes a top end having a first opening. The container further includes a bottom end having a through-hole. The soft press disc is coupled to the bottom end of the container and seals the through-hole. The makeup tool is mounted to the top end of the container. In use, a user can directly press the soft press disc to push the cosmetic powders to eject out of the container and adhere to the makeup tool mounted to the top end of the container instead of touching or grabbing the cosmetic powders. The whole procedure is very convenient and sanitary.

An optional expansion sleeve increases the effective diameter of the heatable rod. An optional heating unit heats the heatable rod.

Abstract: A hair styling apparatus includes first and second handle members adapted for movement between an open position for receiving hair therebetween and a closed condition adjacent the hair, a heating element associated with at least one of said first and second handle members and a cartridge mountable to said first handle member and having a hair treatment agent for dispensing and treating hair disposed between the first and second handle members. The treatment agent may include a conditioning, strengthening, repairing or revitalizing fluid. An ultrasonic transducer may be associated with said cartridge. The transducer is actuable to heat the treatment agent to affect at least partial vaporization thereof for release adjacent the heating elements and application to the hair.
