Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are provided for window placement in a visual display of a data processing system. A computer gathers data of user preferences of size and position of windows in a visual display through use of the visual display, wherein windows relate to resources accessed by a user of the data processing system. Upon a new display action, the computer determines a current context of the visual display, wherein the current context includes existing windows in the visual display. The computer applies the data of user preferences to the new display action to provide an updated display context, wherein the applying includes influencing one or more sizes and one or more positions of one or more windows in the visual display.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for presenting subtitles. The systems and methods include accessing, by a user device, a video discovery graphical user interface that includes a plurality of videos; receiving a user input that gradually reduces volume of the user device; determining that the volume of the user device has gradually been reduced by the user input until a mute state has been reached in which audio output of the user device is disabled; and in response to determining that the volume of the user device has gradually been reduced until the mute state has been reached, automatically causing subtitles of a first video of the plurality of videos to be displayed during playback of the first video.

Abstract: Methods and systems for presenting transportation options that utilize different modalities are provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes receiving a location of a mobile device. A map may then be generated on the mobile device that depicts an area surrounding the location of the mobile device. An information value of the map may be determined and a first position of a panel may be determined based on the information value. The map and the panel may be displayed, with the panel overlaying at least a portion of the map in the first position.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for developing a virtual programmable logic controller (PLC) application using a graphical user interface (GUI) is disclosed. The method including receiving, from a first portion of the GUI representing a tool box, a first selection of a first object from a set of objects represented in the GUI, wherein each of the set of objects performs a respective function. The method also includes inserting, into a horizontal section of a second portion of the GUI representing the virtual PLC application, the first object, wherein the horizontal section includes a second object that executes simultaneously as the first object in the horizontal section. The method also includes compiling code implementing the first object and the second object to generate the virtual PLC application, and adding a shortcut of the virtual PLC application to a virtual tray of an operating system.

Abstract: There is provided an image archiving method for use with a writing target, comprising the steps of receiving a series of captured images of the writing target, detecting difference between first and second candidate received images separated by a predetermined period of time, where additive differences are indicative of writing and subtractive differences are indicative of erasure; upon detecting subtractive difference, temporarily retaining a last candidate image captured prior to the detection, and detecting whether the subtractive difference relative to the retained image exceeds a subtraction threshold amount; and if so, then storing the retained image.

Abstract: A scheduling system and method provides a strategy for an interactive and automated summarized source network schedule on a time-scaled graph of a digital canvas that includes a hierarchy of schedule densities generated from source child activities. As the time-scaled graph is time compressed, the source child activities snap into parent activities of a higher hierarchy level such that the source child activities become visually non-present on the digital canvas and the parent activities of the higher hierarchy level becomes visually present on the digital canvas. As the time-scaled graph is time-stretched, the source child activities that are associated with the parent activities of the hierarchy level that is currently visible on the digital canvas snap out of the parent activities and become visually present on the digital canvas and the parent activities become visually non-present.

Abstract: The present application discloses an operation method of an interactive flat panel, a storage medium, and related equipment. The method comprises displaying a play mode interface of a slide document and an interface of an annotation application, wherein the interface of the annotation application is a transparent layer covering the interface of the slide document. The method further comprises receiving a touch operation on the interface of the annotation application. When the touch operation is of a first type, page-turning of the slide document is performed, and when the touch operation is of a second type, the slide document is annotated on the interface of the annotation application.

Abstract: An audio podcast distribution system includes a server configured to aggregate and store podcast audio files in a database, and a computing device in communication with the server. The computing device has a processor and a display coupled to the processor. The processor is configured to render an audio playback GUI on the display for playing a given podcast audio file from the database. The audio playback GUI includes a playback control user input, and an audio snippet creation user input. The processor is configured to when the audio snippet creation user input is activated, render an audio snippet creation GUI for generating an audio snippet of the given podcast audio file, and upload the audio snippet of the given podcast audio file to the database.

Abstract: A virtual image display device and a setting method for an input interface are provided. The virtual image display device includes a virtual image display and a handheld electronic device. The virtual image display executes an application to provide multiple prompt commands to perform a setting action of the input interface. The handheld electronic device displays the input interface and receives multiple input touch actions corresponding to each of the prompt commands through the input interface in the setting action. Abstract: An autocomplete function for textual input uses situational parameters to predict the next words the user is intending to type. Situational and temporal parameters are based on textual input and sensor data of the user. A past time window is based on the situational and temporal parameters. Historical textual input and sensor data during the time window relating to the situational parameters are retrieved from a storage device and aggregated. A pre-existing model that relates the situational parameter to the time window is used to select a situational value based on the textual input and sensor data. Words relating to the situational parameter are listed that the user is likely to input next based on the selected situational value. The words are ranked by the probability that the user is intending to type each of the words. The highest ranked word is displayed to the user on a user interface.

Abstract: A system and method for typing assistance is provided. One or more letter selections are received from a user via a keyboard. Examples of one or more words including the received letter selections are selected from a dictionary list during predictive typing and provided to the user. An additional letter selection is received. A determination is made that no words with the letter selections and the additional letter selection exist in the dictionary list. Keys for all letters on the keyboard are disabled. Artificial intelligence functionality is activated and one or more of the disabled keys are enabled via the artificial intelligence functionality.
