  • Patent number: 11541180
Abstract: A closure assembly for a medical device, preferably in the form of a tamper evident closure, having an outer sleeve including an open end and a closed end. A tip cap includes a flow restrictor disposed within the sleeve in accessible relation by the medical device through the open end. An indicator member is removably connected to the tip cap within the sleeve and a retainer member is connected to an interior of the sleeve in an interruptive, disconnecting relation to the indicator member by a snap-fit connection. The indicator member is captured within said hollow interior upon removal of said tip cap from the sleeve through the open end. An end cap may be attached to the sleeve, to define a closed end thereof, by a snap-fit connection similar to, but distinguishable from, the snap-fit connection between the retainer member and the interior of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 11524148
Abstract: Disclosed is an inter- and intra-catheter flow device for the management of vascular bleeding disorders that provide a liquid flow-pass between proximal and distal balloons for bridging the circulation between the upper and lower segments of a hemorrhaging artery or blood vessel, while blocking the blood flow to the hemorrhaging middle segment(s) of the artery or blood vessel between the two or more balloons. When only one balloon is inflated, these devices can create a pressure gradient between proximal or distal and middle segments of the artery or blood vessel. These devices are useful for controlling proximal artery blood pressure, preventing distal ischemia-reperfusion injury, identifying the bleeding location, controlling the bleeding, repairing and remodeling vascular structures, extending resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) use duration, and performing fluid resuscitation.

  • Patent number: 11504469
Abstract: A system and method for calibrating an IV pump infusion system tube comprises a fluid source, an infusion system comprising, an IV pump, a drive unit, a chamber with known constant volume, a control unit, and IV tubing with a known inner diameter tolerance, and a switch and magnetic floating object. The system administers medicinal fluid, calculates the flow rate of the medicinal fluid in the chamber by measuring the time the switch is activated as medicinal fluid rises in the chamber, compares the calculated flow rate with a set flow rate of the IV pump input in the control unit prior to infusion, and adjusts the IV pump and flow rate based on the compared deviations for more accurate delivery to a patient. This configuration may provide a more precise delivery rate of medicinal fluid, preventing harm to the patient and waste of medicine.

  • Patent number: 11484646
Abstract: An on-body injector includes a drug reservoir having an outlet. First and second pistons may be positioned within the reservoir, with the second piston first being moved to open the outlet, followed by the first piston being moved to convey a drug from the reservoir via the outlet. The reservoir may instead include a cover, with a valve positioned between the outlet and the cover. The valve is rotated to place a channel of the valve in fluid communication with a through-hole of the cover, allowing flow from the reservoir via the outlet. The reservoir may instead include a valve movable from a condition in which it deforms the outlet, preventing flow through the outlet, to a condition allowing flow. The reservoir may instead include a seal that is deformed by an increase in pressure within the reservoir, with the deformed seal being open to allow flow through the outlet.
