  • Patent number: 12389071
Abstract: A method includes obtaining device usage log data associated with multiple user devices. The device usage log data is related to device settings associated with the user devices, where each device setting associated with the user devices is adjustable by users of the user devices. The method also includes obtaining one or more metrics representing each user's activeness in customizing one or more device settings of the user device associated with the user based on the device usage log data. The method further includes clustering the users into multiple groups based on the metric(s) and identifying at least one of the groups as being at least one valid user group. In addition, the method includes providing one or more recommendations of at least one customized device setting to one or more of the user devices based on the device usage log data associated with the valid user group(s).

  • Patent number: 12389077
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and correlating an advertised object with a plurality of interconnected computing devices embedded in a living environment of the user. For example, a media guidance application implemented at a set-top box with a television may receive a signal from a printer indicating that cartridge ink is low. When the user is watching a television show and an advertisement relating to printer cartridges is being played, the media guidance application may identify that the advertised printer cartridges may be something that the user needs, and may then send a notification to a user of the advertisement. In this way, the media guidance application correlates advertisements from a media asset with a user's actual needs, which may improve the advertisement conversion rate for advertisers.

  • Patent number: 12380701
Abstract: Systems, video cameras, and methods for predictive adjustment of multi-camera surveillance video data capture are described. A plurality of networked video camera is deployed with known spatial relationships and non-overlapping fields of view among cameras. When a video event is detected from video data for one of the video cameras, a video capture update message is selectively sent to other video cameras to modify their video capture operations. For example, an object detected by one camera may trigger adjustment of video capture operating parameters for cameras in a direction of travel of the object before it has entered the field of view of those other cameras.

  • Patent number: 12323640
Abstract: An ad in a movie can be a static ad having a position in the movie that cannot be moved, or a dynamic ad having a position in the movie that can be changed. When a viewer wishes to skip a portion of the movie containing the ad, the playback system determines whether the ad is static or dynamic. If the ad is static, only the portion of the movie preceding the static ad can be skipped; the ad is unskippable. This technique is referred to as “bounceback” since the end of the skip bounces back to the start of the static ad. If the ad is dynamic, it is moved to after the end of the skip. This technique is referred to as “slip-ad” since the ad slips to later in the movie. When a movie has multiple ads, some can be static and some can be dynamic.

  • Patent number: 12294448
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for unifying local channels with Over-the-Top (OTT) services (e.g., Internet-streaming media services). In one example aspect, a location is determined. Based on the determined location, a list of local channels available for broadcast in the geographic area is retrieved. The list of local channels is then compared to a list of channels offered via at least one OTT service. Based on the comparison with the OTT service channel offering, a subset of available local channels may be determined. The electronic programming guide (EPG) data and other programming metadata associated with the local channels may be downloaded and provided to the OTT service. The local channels, along with the EPG data and programming metadata, may be merged with the OTT service so that the local channels may be streamed via the OTT service.

  • Patent number: 12260719
Abstract: Provided is a monitoring system configured such that, even when there is a deviation of a shooting region of a camera, if the deviation is within an acceptable level, an accurate vehicle detection using a recognition model can be performed without readjusting parameters or re-training the model. Based on an image of a no-entry zone and a platform zone, a processor performs a first operation for detecting a person in the no-entry zone and a second operation for detecting a vehicle in the no-entry zone; and based on detection results, determines whether an alert needs to be issued. When there is a deviation of the shooting region of a camera, the processor performs a conversion operation for converting an image of a current shooting region to an image that would be captured by the camera with an original shooting region and uses the converted image for the two detection operations.

  • Patent number: 12236347
Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for machine-learning architectures for broadcast and multicast communications. A network entity processes broadcast or multicast communications using a deep neural network (DNN) to direct the one or more broadcast or multicast communications to a targeted group of user equipments (UEs) using the wireless communication system. The network entity receives feedback from at least one user equipment (UE) of the targeted group of UEs. The network entity determines a modification to the DNN based on the feedback. The network entity transmits an indication of the modification to the targeted group of UEs. The network entity updates the DNN with the modification to form a modified DNN. The network entity processes the broadcast or multicast communications using the modified DNN to direct the broadcast or multicast communications to the targeted group of UEs using the wireless communication system.
