  • Patent number: 10075383
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing an asynchronous router with virtual channel (VC) control. The asynchronous router may support multiple VCs for connections to other routers. The asynchronous router may include an interface unit on each switch boundary, with each interface unit including a data merge unit. The data merge unit may include a full detector unit for each VC, with the full detector unit counting the number of flits sent out on a respective VC and counting the number of credits released by the successor router. Whenever the successor router has no credits available, the full detector unit will assert the full signal to prevent any input requests from requesting to transmit over that particular VC. When the full signal is asserted, a timer unit may be activated to repeatedly check if any credits have been released in the successor router.

  • Patent number: 10051022
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for providing Hot-Root Standby in Global Table Multicast (GTM) environments. For example, in such GTM environments, normally a single unicast route to the customer multicast source (“C-Source”) will be available to egress provider edge (PE) routers. As described herein, ingress PE routers may advertise multiple routes to a C-Source, including unicast routes that include Route Import Extended Communities, which are imported by egress PE routers. This enables an egress PE router to have multiple paths to the C-Source, and the egress PE router may generate multiple C-multicast source tree joins for respective ingress PE routers in order to receive respective multicast streams sourced by the C-Source from the ingress PE routers.

  • Patent number: 10009931
Abstract: Enhanced random access procedures for link-budget-limited user equipment (UE) devices are disclosed. A user equipment device may transmit a first message containing a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH). The PRACH contains instances of a Zadoff-Chu sequence, and may be transmitted repeatedly as part of a single random attempt, to facilitate correlation data combining at the base station. The available Zadoff-Chu sequences may be partitioned among a plurality of sets, each set being associated with a respective Doppler shift range (or frequency hop pattern or time repetition pattern). A UE device may signal Doppler shift (or other information) to the base station by selection of one of the sets. The first PRACH transmission and the following PRACH transmission may occur in consecutive subframes. A UE device may select from a special set of Zadoff-Chu sequences (different from a conventional set of sequences), to signal its status as a link-budget-limited device.
