  • Patent number: 9844077
Abstract: A method of operating a communication system includes communicating data between an access node and a wireless device using carrier aggregation. This carrier aggregation includes communicating using at least a primary carrier and a secondary carrier. The communication system determines that conditions for the secondary carrier meet a beamforming requirement criteria. The communication system determines an angle of arrival of the primary carrier. Based on the angle of arrival determined for the primary carrier, beamforming is applied to the secondary carrier.

  • Patent number: 9832660
Abstract: In switching a radio base station (SeNB) from a radio base station (SeNB#1) to a radio base station (SeNB#2) in an “Inter-node UP aggregation”, the occurrence of transmission delay of downlink data to a mobile station (UE) is avoided. A mobile communication method according to the present invention includes: stopping, by the radio base station (SeNB#1), scheduling of downlink data to the mobile station (UE), and sending an “SeNB change command” to the mobile station (UE), when receiving an “SeNB change request ack” from the radio base station (SeNB#2); notifying, by the mobile station (UE), a radio base station (MeNB) of at least one of already received downlink data and unreceived downlink data; and resending, by the radio base station (MeNB), the mobile station the downlink data that is not received by the mobile station (UE) in response to the notification.

  • Patent number: 9813344
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for load balancing in a software-define networking (SDN) system includes, upon receiving a packet, determining whether a matching entry for the packet in a server distribution table contains both a current and new server selection. If the matching entry contains both, it is determined whether there is a matching entry for the packet in a transient flow table, where the transient flow table maintains server selections when at least one of the plurality of servers is reconfigured. Upon determining that there is no matching entry for the packet in the transient flow table, the method determines whether the packet is a first packet of a traffic flow. If the packet is the first packet of a traffic flow, the packet is forwarded according to the new server selection of the matching entry in the server distribution table, and the transient flow table is updated.

  • Patent number: 9769342
Abstract: Provided is an electric apparatus including a reception unit (for example, hardware key) for receiving an instruction relating to functions of the electric apparatus and having operation states of a power conserving state in which power required for performing the functions thereof is limited and a normal state in which the power is not limited, wherein the reception unit may receive an instruction indicating a return to the normal state in the power conserving state and receive an instruction which is to be originally received in the normal state. When the reception unit receives the instruction, signals at different levels are output depending on the operation state and based on the signal to be output, a return signal relating to the return to the normal state or an execution signal relating to the execution of a function corresponding to the instruction received by the receiving signal is output.

  • Patent number: 9769598
Abstract: A method for detecting the proximity of a signal source using wireless systems is contemplated in which a wireless mobile device wirelessly receives packets from a signal source and determines a received signal strength for each packet. The wireless mobile device may store information based upon the received signal strength for each packet, and calculate from the information stored for all the packets, a current path loss value corresponding to a current distance from the wireless mobile device to the signal source. The wireless mobile device may then determine whether the current distance is sufficient to be an enabling condition such as tap, for example, for a data transfer or a transaction between the wireless mobile device and the signal source.

  • Patent number: 9763153
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may camp on a network following a SIM bootup. Specifically, the UE may determine that a SIM implementation module of the UE includes a first SIM application (e.g., USIM) associated with a first cellular radio access technology (RAT) (e.g., LTE) and a second SIM application (e.g., CSIM) associated with a second cellular RAT (e.g., CDMA). The UE may then initialize the first SIM application and the second SIM application. The UE may determine whether the network is configured to support both voice and data communications using the first cellular RAT. If so, the UE may initiate camping on the network with the first cellular RAT in response to determining that the first SIM application is ready, but before the second SIM application is ready. If not, the UE may wait until both the first and second SIM applications are ready before initiating camping on the network.

  • Patent number: 9756645
Abstract: Embodiments allow an eNBs and a target UE to both calculate which resource block groups (RBGs) to use to transmit data. Because the RBGs that will contain information of interest can be pre-calculated, there is no need to receive and store all RBGs in the transmitted signal before decoding the signal and identifying which RBGs are of interest to the recipient. This allows receivers to buffer and/or store only those RBGs that will contain received information and discard others. The amount of information that needs to be stored and/or buffered thus is less and can result in receivers with less memory and, hence, lower cost. In order to calculate which RBGs are to be used to transmit and/or receive information, a logical RBG index is first calculated and the logical RBG index is mapped to a physical RBG index.

  • Patent number: 9712674
Abstract: A network device in a service provider network receives an incoming call, from a caller, to a telephone number associated with a customer. The network device applies to the call an interactive voice response (IVR) script corresponding to the customer and determines that the caller wants to speak to an agent. The network device establishes a secure duplex communication channel between the network device and an automatic call distributor (ACD) for the customer. The secure duplex communication channel is dedicated for use in managing the incoming call. The network device informs the ACD, via the secure duplex communication channel, that an agent is needed for the incoming call and receives, via the secure duplex communication channel, instructions from the ACD to manage the incoming call.
