An artist recommendation corresponding to the artist is generated for users based upon the media consumption of the users. An event recommendation corresponding to the event is generated for users near the location. A level of demand for the event is determined based upon a conversion rate.

Abstract: Multiple simultaneous auctions can be monitored and participated in using a single bidding device operated by a single remote bidder. A multi-windowed environment allows for the display of active bidding windows and docked bidding windows. The active bidding windows are fully functional bidding windows and include auction status, product information and the like. The docked bidding windows provide a subset of the information but, nonetheless provide real-time auction status information and allows for bidders to enter bids into the auctioning process without having to move the bidding window into an active status. A customer-identifier selector of identifier allows the remote bidder to associate a customer with a particular bidding window. The customer-identifier advantageously helps the remote bidder to track who purchased items are associated with, as well as providing control structure over the bidding process.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for updating stored item data using a remote computing system are presented. In example embodiments, a first user selection of a representation of an item accessible from a first remote computing system is received at a client device while the client device is in electronic communication with the first remote computing system via a network. Based on the first user selection, first item data describing the selected item is retrieved from the first remote computing system via the network, and the first item data is stored in a data storage system residing on the client device. After the storing of the first item data, second item data for the selected item is retrieved from a second remote computing system via the network, and the stored first item data is updated based on at least a portion of the retrieved second item data.

Abstract: Product information may be utilized to create a translation dictionary. The translation dictionary may then be utilized to translate search queries from a foreign language to the primary language that is utilized to provide an online e-commerce marketplace. The translated search queries may then be utilized to perform a search of a product catalog maintained by the online e-commerce marketplace. The translation dictionary created with the product information might also be utilized to translate resources, such as Web site resources, to verify the translation of the resources, and to perform other functionality.

When a user searches for listings, the listings are ranked at least in part based on a location relevance score including at least one of a city relevance subscore, a neighborhood subscore, and a distance subscore. Generally, the city relevance subscore quantifies the probability that a searching user may have actually intended to look for listings in a city other than the city specified in a search query. Generally, the neighborhood relevance subscore quantifies the popularity of specific neighborhoods within a city as a replacement or addition to the distance subscore that determines a real world distance between a listing's real world location and a location specified in a search query.

The system may also include one or more processors configured to execute the software instructions to receive a pre-qualification application, the pre-qualification application including customer-identifying information, access a vehicle inventory associated with a dealership, and identify vehicle information associated with at least one vehicle for sale at the dealership based on the pre-qualification application. The attributes can include mobile device type, mobile device operating system, location, mobile device service provider, mobile device storage capacity remaining, mobile device signal strength, and type of mobile connection. The filtering of reviews can be managed manually by the potential user or automatically by using intelligent analysis of the attributes and the content of the reviews in order to provide enhanced insight to the potential user.

A data storage interface module can access, from a search metrics database, a plurality of product categories associated with the common term, and access user behavior data, with the user behavior data including product views corresponding to past search queries in the publication system. A category predictor can determine a first product category from the plurality of product categories for the tail query based on the user behavior data and information derived from the search metrics database.
