Abstract: The present invention relates to a hair treatment appliance (1) having a handle (3), a functional head (4) which can be connected to the handle (3) and has a hair treatment device (5), and also an ion application device (9) for applying ions to the hair, said ion application device having at least one ion outlet (11), wherein the functional head (4) and the handle (3) also in each case have an electrically conductive area on an outer face of the component and the electrically conductive area of the functional head (4) and the electrically conductive area of the handle (3) are electrically conductively connected to one another.

Abstract: A hair styling tool having a plurality of bristles and one or more movable members extending radially outward from the core and movable between opposing positions is provided. The movable members move between a retracted position where the divider is fitted between and even with or slightly above or slightly below the bristles to engage the hair and an extended position where the divider is moved out beyond the bristles to disengage the hair from the bristles. The hair styling tool having the movable member which engages and disengages the hair with the bristles minimizes tangling of the hair while brushing. The hair styling tool may be a rotating brush optionally equipped with a motor.

Abstract: An artificial nail (1) has a member made of a material having electrical conductivity. The artificial nail (1) is given electrical conductivity by mixing an electrically conductive material into plastic serving as a base material. As the electrically conductive material, a carbon-based material, such as carbon black, carbon fiber, or black lead, or a metal-based material, such as a fine metal powder, a metal oxide, metal fiber, or a whisker, is used. Alternatively, the base material for the artificial nail (1) per se is an electrically conductive resin.

Abstract: A dental floss apparatus for cleaning the gaps between adjacent teeth which is comprised of a pair of handles that are configured for engagement with the fingers and having one or a plurality of strands of flossing substrate extending therebetween. The floss extends within an opening formed between the ends of the two handles, during tensioned employment of the handles by a user. A dissolvable component may be positioned within the opening through an engagement with one or both of the handles or the flossing substrate. The dissolvable component dissolves to a solution during use to deposit a residue on the surface of the teeth. The solution from the dissolving component may be colorized or fluorescent, and have an additive material such as mouthwash, breath freshener, cooling agent, or flavor.

Abstract: A composite cosmetic container has a first sleeve, a driving assembly, multiple vessels and a second sleeve. The driving assembly is mounted in the first sleeve and has a first rotating tube, multiple seats and a second rotating tube. The first rotating tube is coactively mounted in the first sleeve. The vessels are respectively mounted in the seats of the driving assembly. The second sleeve is coactively mounted on the second rotating tube of the driving assembly. The composite cosmetic container facilitates easy control of the vessels to selectively move upward and downward by the relative rotation between the first sleeve and the second sleeve. Multiple cosmetic products are respectively contained in the vessels and are easy to dispense. Accordingly, the options of the cosmetic products contained in the container are increased.

Abstract: A method of creating designs on the surface of a finger nail or toenail is disclosed. A first amount of a flowable protective coating is applied over at least a first portion of a surface of a cuticle adjacent the nail. A first nail polish is applied to the surface of the nail. An additional amount of the flowable protective coating is applied over one or more portions of the surface of the nail coated with the first nail polish. A second nail polish is applied over exposed portions of the nail not covered by the additional amount of the flowable protective coating. The first amount of flowable protective coating and the additional amount of the flowable protective coating are removed by peeling the first amount of flowable protective coating and the additional amount of the flowable protective coating from the cuticle and the nail.

Abstract: A cosmetic application tool is provided which includes an applying portion attached and integrated with a leading end portion of a brush shaft. The applying portion includes a flat, plate-shaped portion surrounded by a hollow, skirt-shaped portion at its distal end. When the brush shaft is drawn out of a cosmetic container, the skirt-shaped hollow portion of the applying portion is flattened by a wiper provided in a surrounding manner within the cosmetic container, so that some of the liquid cosmetic that has been pooled in the skirt-shaped hollow portion is pushed out over the flat plate-shaped portion while some is retained in the skirt-shaped hollow portion of the applying portion.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a permanent rod. The permanent rod includes a tube-shaped rod body. In the rod body, a pair of cut surfaces is provided to form a band-shaped insertion opening over the entire longitudinal section of the rod body, and a plurality of compression grooves each having a concave bottom surface are formed in the outer surface of the rod body over the entire longitudinal section. Also, the permanent rod includes: a compression member body having a compression surface corresponding to each of the grooved bottom surfaces; and a compression member detachably coupled to the rod body so that the compression surface contacts the grooved bottom surface. Therefore, the permanent rod may create various wave styles.

Abstract: Hair extensions are disclosed that include a weft and at least a single micro-cylinder, wherein the weft comprises a plurality of hair, a skin weft and at least a single i-tip. Hair extensions may also include a weft and at least a single micro-cylinder, wherein the weft comprises a plurality of hair, a skin weft and at least a single i-tip; wherein a top section of the plurality of hair is bonded together to form the skin weft and the at least single i-tip. Methods of attaching a hair extension, wherein the hair extension comprises a micro-cylinder, a plurality of hair, a skin weft and at least a single i-tip are also disclosed herein that include bonding the plurality of hair to form the skin weft and the at least a single i-tip; threading a segment of natural hair through the micro-cylinder; inserting the i-tip into the micro-cylinder; and crimping the micro-cylinder to secure the i-tip.

Abstract: A dental shaping strip includes a base portion and a shaping portion. The base portion has a first base surface and a second base surface facing in an opposite direction from the first base surface. The first and second base surfaces have prescribed longitudinal lengths and prescribed widths transverse to the prescribed longitudinal lengths. The shaping portion is connected to a longitudinal edge of the base portion. The shaping portion has a first shaping surface connected to the first base surface, with at least part of the first shaping surface being abrasive. The first and second base surfaces are at least partially non-abrasive. Preferably, the first shaping surface and the first base surface diverge from each other as they approach longitudinal free edges of the dental shaping strip. Preferably, the first and second base surfaces are non-abrasive along their prescribed longitudinal lengths.

Abstract: A hair styling iron has a handle to which a heated barrel is mounted and a motor for moving the barrel. The iron includes a drive switch which is user actuable and connected to the control circuit for controlling operation of the motor. The control circuit includes a timer and monitors at least one change of state of the user-actuable drive switch to determine a starting time, and actuates an alarm, or another response, such as a reversal of the motor to unwind the hair, after an elapsed time measured from the starting time. The elapsed time may be user-selected or calculated automatically depending upon the length of hair wound onto the barrel, with compensation for barrel temperature.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a cosmetic apparatus. More particularly, the invention encompasses an accessory sleeve for a cosmetic item. The present invention is also directed to a novel lock-in cosmetic accessory sleeve. The accessory sleeve has a first opening to securely and releaseably accommodate a first cosmetic container, and a second opening to securely and releaseably accommodate a second cosmetic container. The accessory sleeve and/or the containers have at least one releaseable engagement means to securely hold each to the other. The lock-in cosmetic accessory sleeve has at least one engageable and/or constriction means to engage with and securely, and releaseably, hold a first cosmetic container at a first open end, and/or to engage with and securely, and releaseably, hold a second cosmetic container at a second open end. The constriction means could be at least one leaf spring type means.

Abstract: A hair curler comprising a cylindrical body having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis and a removable rod extending through the body along the transverse axis thereof. The inventive curler enables a novel method of curling hair including the steps of curling the hair around the curler comprising a cylindrical body having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis and a removable rod extending through the body along the transverse axis thereof and securing the curled hair to the head of a user by inserting a rod through the body of the curler along the longitudinal axis thereof. In the illustrative embodiment, the cylindrical body is perforated and has multiple protrusions. The cylindrical body has a variable diameter with tapered ends. The diameter of the body is smaller in the middle section thereof. The rod is beaded and has bends therein.

Abstract: A brush for applying mascara or the like, comprising an elongated core and a plurality of coating surfaces axially spaced along the elongated core, distributed around the core over a substantial portion of the length of the core extending from the distal end thereof. The coating surfaces are arranged in a plurality of rows forming turns of at least one helix extending lengthwise of the core and spaced laterally around the core periphery. The axial distance between consecutive rows of coating surfaces varies longitudinally along the core.

Abstract: A hair curling apparatus includes a handle, a barrel depending from the handle, and dimensioned to accommodate a lock of hair wrapped thereabout and a clamp releasably mounted relative to one of the barrel or the handle. The clamp includes a spoon which is adapted to move relative to the one of the barrel or the handle between a closed position and an open position. The spoon engages the lock of hair when in the closed position. The curling iron apparatus has both clamp and clampless capabilities, thus providing the user with styling flexibility.

Abstract: The invention provides a hair care device for use in untangling hair. The hair care device includes a body portion (10a, 10b) and a plurality of substantially parallel flexible bristles (12a, 12b) made of soft plastics material and projecting from the body portion. The bristles are arranged such that over at least a part of the area of bristles, some of the bristles are of shorter length (12b). The bristles and the shorter length bristles are interspersed over the at least part of the area of bristles.

Abstract: A kit including a package containing a plurality of preformed artificial nails having an application tab that removably clings to a surface of the nail, the application tab assembly including a body protruding from the nail, an attachment portion, and, optionally, an adhesive disposed between the body and the artificial nail. The clinging portion of the attachment portion, and the adhesive, if utilized, leaves substantially no residue on the artificial nail when the application tab assembly is removed from the surface of the artificial nail.
