Abstract: A method of managing notification message reception corresponding to natural disaster warning for a user equipment of a wireless communication system includes activating the notification message reception when a reception indication message indicating permission of the notification message reception is received from the network, receiving a system information broadcasted by the network, and stopping the notification message reception when the system information includes no resource configuration about notification message delivery controlled by the network.
Abstract: A user can be notified of certain events or occurrences according to time and location information specified by the user. In some embodiments, a user can specify a location such as an office or warehouse, and can select an automatic range such that whenever the user is within the automatic range of that location, notifications are automatically delivered to the user. The user can also specify a management range, such that when the user is outside the automatic range but inside the management range the user will not receive the notification unless the notification has been pending for a specified delay period. Such an approach enables notifications to be delivered when the notifications are most relevant. If the maximum delay has passed or the user is outside the management range, the notification can be automatically delivered to the user or another user can be selected to receive the notification.
Abstract: Embodiments of user equipment (UE) and method for handover enhancement using a scaled time-to-trigger (TTT) and a time-of-stay are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the TTT is scaled based on at least one of a measured reference signal received quality (RSRQ) value of a serving cell and a time-of-stay in the serving cell.
Abstract: Technology for method for reducing the number of unsuccessful service change attempts of a first mobile terminal is presented. The first mobile terminal is connectable via a mobile network to a further terminal by establishing a call connection for providing a first service or by establishing a call connection for providing a second service. The first mobile terminal receives a first indication signal indicating that a service change to the second service is temporarily unavailable from a mobile network node administrating an established call connection for providing the first service. In response to receiving the first indication signal, the first mobile terminal refrains from requesting a service change to the second service until reception of a further indication signal from the mobile network node indicating that a service change is available again.
Abstract: This provides a terminal location obtaining method, device, and system. The method includes: a first terminal transmitting a location-obtaining request to a second terminal; the second terminal starting a positioning function to obtain the current location information of the second terminal, and transmitting the obtained location information of the second terminal to the first terminal; the first terminal using the location information of the second terminal as the location information of the first terminal, and performing a location-based application operation based on the location information. This can obtain relatively accurate location information of a terminal when the terminal is incapable of determining its own location when location determination is needed. This can also transmit the location information to a corresponding application server to avoid inaccuracy issues with determining a location based on the IP address of a terminal. This can facilitate an accurate location-based push message service.

Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method for facilitating, at a system including at least one processor, establishment of a communication session with a device coupled to a Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC) by way of network equipment of a default Mobile Network Operator (MNO), receiving, at the system, information descriptive of an MNO selection, selecting, at the system, from a database of credentials of a plurality of MNOs first credential information according to the received information, wherein the first credential information is associated with a first MNO of the plurality of MNOs, and transmitting, from the system, the first credential information to the UICC over the communication session by way of the device to cause the UICC to facilitate establishment of communications with network equipment of the first MNO according to the first credential information. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract: Examples disclosed herein provide systems, methods, and software for rolling over a data communication from one communication network to another. In one example, a method of operating a communication network includes receiving a secure authorization request from a wireless device and authorizing the wireless device based on a security key. The method further includes determining an identifier for a previous communication network, identifying a previous security key from the previous communication network, and integrating the previous security key with the security key to facilitate communication for the wireless device.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for improving the connectivity when a radio link failure occurs is disclosed. The method includes detecting, by a user equipment (UE), a radio link failure to a first radio network controller (RNC) and receiving an information message from a second RNC. The method further includes determining whether the first and second RNCs have interface connectivity between them. If the first and second RNCs have interface connectivity between them, performing a connection recovery procedure with the second RNC. However, if the first and second RNCs do not have interface connectivity between them, performing an initial connection procedure to establish a connection with the second RNC without performing a connection recovery procedure.
Abstract: Systems and methods generate corrected channel transfer functions by cross-correlation nulling. In an example system, a first receiver node (which may be a wireless base station) receives first expected reference signal information associated with an interfering transmitter node (which may be a wireless user equipment) and creates a correction matrix based on the first expected reference signal information associated with the interfering transmitter node and on second expected reference signal information associated with an intended transmitter node. The correction matrix can then be applied to an estimated channel transfer function associated with a received transmission from the intended transmitter node to generate a corrected channel transfer function associated with the received transmission from the intended transmitter node. The first receiver node can use the corrected channel transfer function in decoding received transmissions including, for example, use in performing interference resolution.

Abstract: A mobile device case or cover can include a display module that can display notifications or other useful data to users. The display module can communicate wirelessly with the mobile device to obtain notifications. In addition, in some embodiments, the display module can communicate with a secondary mobile device (such as a phone in a user's pocket) to obtain notifications or other data.
Abstract: A method of managing notification message reception corresponding to natural disaster warning for a user equipment of a wireless communication system includes activating the notification message reception when reception indication message indicating reception of the notification message is received, selecting a cell after the notification message reception is activated, and stopping the notification message reception after completion of selecting the cell.
Abstract: Methods and systems for delivering branding information to a portable electronic device based on a brand SKU. The brand SKU is assigned to a device in addition to or to replace an OEM SKU that may have been used for testing and traceability. Based on detection of a brand SKU and a determination as to what brand is associated with the brand SKU, upon power up downstream in the supply chain at the OEM, or at the distribution center, or at the point of sale, a brand payloads based on the brand SKU is sent to the portable electronic device. The brand payloads may comprise logos, configurable options, and access options for hardware and software to various network services including voice services and data services.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system for tracking and recording movements of a mobile communication device that includes one or more movement sensors. The mobile communication device communicates sensor signals to the system, wherein the sensor signals are indicative of motion associated with activities to which the mobile communication device is exposed by its user. The sensor signals are pre-classified to generate the intermediate data, where the intermediate data is processed in one or more processors to generate indications of likely activities associated with the sensor signals, and an aggregate of the indications is computed to provide an analysis of activities associated with the sensor signals. The information indicating most likely activity types is then sent to the mobile communication device.
Abstract: In one embodiment, sensor signals corresponding to motions of a client computing device are received. The sensor signals are associated with activity periods, each activity period also being associated with a geographic location of the client computing device. For each activity period, one or more activity types are determined for the client computing device based on the sensor signals for the activity period and one or more signal parameters. A reference of the activity type and activity period is sent to the client computing device, and an indication is received regarding whether that reference is correct. The signal parameters may be adjusted based on the received indication.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a computing device receives from a mobile device sensor signals which indicate motion associated with activities of a user of the mobile device. The computing device determines a number of activity types that correspond to at least a portion of the received sensor signals. The computing device determines a number of activity periods of the user, each activity period corresponding to a likely activity type, by analyzing the sensor signals against each of the activity types, and calculating a probability of each of the activity types. The computing device determines whether two or more of the determined activity periods should be combined into a single period, based on a heuristics-type analysis based on a length of time for each of the two or more activity periods. The activity periods are sent to the mobile device.
