  • Patent number: 10064106
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure include, for example, identifying a primary serving cell and a secondary serving cell, wherein the primary serving cell facilitates one of attachment, re-attachment or mobility, or any combination thereof, of a mobile device in association with coordination of a wireless service between the primary serving cell, the secondary serving cell and the mobile device. A latency value associated with a message exchange is determined between the primary and secondary serving cells via a messaging interface, and compared to latency requirements, which correspond to a group of mobile service features. A mobile service feature of the group is associated with the wireless service based on the comparison. The wireless service includes a coordinated exchange of wireless signals between the primary serving cell and the mobile device and between the secondary serving cell and the mobile device based on the mobile service feature. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10056967
Abstract: Based on electronic communication received from a wireless device or from an access point, it is determined that a wireless signal relay is needed between the wireless device and the access point. In response to the determination, a drone is deployed between the wireless device and the access point to relay wireless signals between the wireless device and the access point. The deployed drone measures a first strength of a first wireless signal received from the wireless device or measures a second strength of a second wireless signal received from the access point. Based on the measurements, it is determined that the wireless device has moved relative to the access point after the drone has been deployed. In response to the determining that the wireless device has moved, the location of the drone is adjusted to maintain the first strength or the second strength above a predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 10057782
Abstract: A method and system is provided for enabling spectrum sensing capability in a network having at least one primary user and a plurality of secondary users configured to communicate using a shared spectrum. The methods and systems include receiving values from sensors corresponding to received signal strength from a primary user in one or more frequencies of the shared spectrum. The values are used to interpolate at least one additional value between the sensors. A detection threshold is determined for sensing a signal transmitted from the primary user based on an acceptable amount of interference. The primary user is then determined to be transmitting in the one or more frequencies of the shared spectrum if any of the values received from the plurality of sensors or the at least one additional value interpolated along the path exceeds the detection threshold.

  • Patent number: 10051447
Abstract: A method, computer-readable medium, and apparatus for broadcasting a wireless emergency alert message are disclosed. For example, a method may include a processor receiving a request to broadcast a wireless emergency alert message, determining an anticipated increase in a network usage in response to broadcasting the wireless emergency alert message, determining that a capacity of the network will not be exceeded with the anticipated increase in the network usage, and broadcasting the wireless alert message in an alert area. In one example, the request comprises a type of alert, the alert area, and a message content. In one example, the wireless emergency alert message that is broadcast includes the message content in a format that deviates from a default format when it is determined that the capacity of the network will not be exceeded with the anticipated increase in the network usage.

  • Patent number: 10007305
Abstract: PDAs can be used to provide their users with various functions. One such function is the ability to contact other users who are stored in the PDA as contacts, for example by telephone of text message. The decision as to whether or not a particular user should be contacted may be influenced by the location of that user. For example, if a contact is nearby, then it may be more likely that the user of the PDA would want to contact them. The present embodiments provide a PDA on which the location of one or more contacts can be displayed. Furthermore, the location of a particular contact can be shown on a map on the screen of the PDA simply by tilting the PDA through a predetermined angle about a horizontal axis. Thus, the map can be displayed in an intuitive and straightforward manner.

  • Patent number: 10009784
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for configuring a base station node. A set of base station parameters are received by a remote control unit. The remote control unit receives and installs dynamic parameter values for base station setup selected by a server application based on the received base station parameters. The remote control unit also receives dynamic parameter values for network integration generated by the server application via the network connection, the dynamic parameter values for network integration being generated in response to a user selection. The remote control unit may then configure the base station node using the dynamic parameter values for network integration. When configuration is complete, the remote control unit may transmit an indication to the server application, and finalizes integration of the base station node in response to a request from the server application.

  • Patent number: 10004094
Abstract: An MR code is generated within a browser on a client device and is read by a mobile application on a mobile device. A communication channel is then established through a web-based service, between the browser and the mobile application on the mobile device. The mobile application generates a user interface display on the mobile device that allows user selection of content. The mobile application sends a link to that content to the browser, which accesses and renders the content on the client device. User input commands to control the rendered content are also received at the mobile device and sent to the browser through the communication channel.

  • Patent number: 9992647
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product for performing region monitoring using tag matching to more closely match the monitored regions to a user's preference. A user enters user tags of interest, which are persisted to the region monitoring web server. The web server returns the closest regions having a region tag matching user tag first and the closest regions without matching tags secondary. An application at the mobile device then performs region monitoring of the identified closest region(s). When the mobile device enters a monitored region, it reports this event to the web server. The web server then determines whether any messages and/or assets associated with the region have matching message tags or asset tags and returns such messages or assets to the mobile device.
