Abstract: A camera system for inventory monitoring includes a movable base that supports multiple cameras. The multiple cameras are directed toward inventory to take a series of pictures along aisle of a retail store or warehouse. A processing module connected to the multiple cameras is used to stitch together the pictures, and along with depth information and product identification information, construct a real time or near real time inventory mapping of products positioned on aisle shelves. This information can be transferred to remote locations to simplify and speed product ordering, and assist in maintenance of appropriate product stock levels.

Abstract: A method that includes receiving, from one or more motion sensors in a device, data describing a signature arc in three-dimensional space, the signature arc having been generated by gesturing using the device; identifying, from the data describing the gestured signature arc, a plurality of points that correspond to the gestured signature arc in three-dimensional space; generating a curve along the identified plurality of points corresponding to the gestured signature arc; generating a two-dimensional representation of the gestured signature arc; and displaying, on a display screen, the generated two-dimensional representation of the gestured signature arc.

Abstract: A system and method for the management of services offered to subscribers by service providers are provided. A service management component manages service plan options that are provided by one or more service providers and that are made available to subscribers. The service management component processes requests from one or more service provider components to dynamically update service plan information. Such requests may include requests to add or delete service plans, add or delete features to a service plan, add or delete rule sets associated with a service plan, and the like. In this embodiment, the service management component maintains various data stores associated with available service plans and with current subscriber information that facilitate a mapping of updated service plan options to subscribers. Accordingly, the service management component manages a framework that allows the management of the mapping information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing information for projects is provided. Information for the projects is stored as data entities in an associative memory. The associative memory includes a plurality of data having a plurality of associations in which the data entities are included in the plurality of data. The associative memory further includes a content-addressable structure. The associative memory is configured to be queried based on at least one relationship selected from a group that includes direct relationships and indirect relationships among the plurality of data. The data entities stored in the associative memory are grouped to form a number of clusters. A report is generated using the number of clusters.

Abstract: In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a method for improved efficiency of an inventory management system. The method can include: performing a first inventory search of inventory data stored in a database using search criteria; receiving, from a beacon sensor, inventory data broadcast from a plurality of beacons; performing a second inventory search by correlating the inventory data broadcast from the plurality of beacons with results of the first inventory search; receiving image data from a camera; performing image classification on the image data to determine one or more class labels for an inventory item within the field-of-view of the camera; performing a third inventory search by correlating the class labels with results of the second inventory search; and presenting results of the third inventory search to a user.

Abstract: Embodiments of a computer system that determines a time history are described. During operation, the computer system receives a single command which accesses information associated with the time history, wherein the command is received from a user, and the information is to be used by financial software. Then, the computer system generates multiple queries corresponding to the time history, where the multiple queries access multiple data sources. Next, the computer system executes the multiple queries to obtain the time history.

Abstract: Described herein is a framework for controlling an accounting process for financial instruments. In accordance with one aspect of the framework, information associated with a financial instrument is received. Receiving the information includes creating a corresponding entry in a worklist. The received information is registered. A work package of relevant accounting steps is derived based on the registered information. A plurality of dates having an open status is determined. The dates indicate when the relevant accounting steps are to be executed. The relevant accounting steps are executed according to the determined dates.

Abstract: The evaluation system provides a real-time mechanism for auditing purchase request transactions prior to the purchase being completed in order to determine if one or more audit parameters are violated and the transaction should not be completed. An electronic product request can be received from a merchant of the product. The request can identify at least the merchant, the party, and the product requested for purchase. One or more business rules and auditing parameters for auditing the request can be identified based on the identity of the merchant. The contents of the request can then be audited to determine if the request satisfies the audit parameters. The contents of the request can also be used to identify historical transactions for the party, which can be used to determine if the current request violates one or more of the audit parameters.

Abstract: Parts in a manufacturing or service facility are electronically tracked using wireless beacons, strategically positioned receiver devices in the facility, and a monitoring server. The wireless beacons are individually coupled to the parts in the facility and equipped with sensors that wake the wireless beacons up to wirelessly transmit location signals when sensed data indicates the parts are moving to the receiver devices. The receiver devices, in turn, transmit the location signals across a network to the monitoring server, which uses the location signals and identifiers of the receiver devices to locate the work areas of the facility in which the wireless beacons—and thus coupled parts—are located.

By encumbering inventory, the inventory of the item is made unavailable, at least temporarily, to other customers. Encumbrance may be based on one or more factors, which may include current on-hand inventory and/or a rate of sales for the item. However, many other factors may also be used in various combinations. Inventory of items may be encumbered for a dynamically determined amount of time. At the end of this time, the item may be released and made available to other customers assuming the item was not purchased in a completed transaction. The dynamic determination of the triggering event and the dynamic determination of an amount of time to encumber items may be deployed individually or in combination with each other.

An example system and method for targeted marketing comprises collecting transaction data from point-of-sale (POS) terminals and using a consumer identifier in the transaction data to access stored information about the consumer. This information may be used to target offers and advertisement to the consumer. In an example system for consumer resource management, a consumer may configure a consumer account on the enterprise infrastructure via a web-site. The consumer may use the consumer account to purchase and configure gift cards that may be used for purchasing goods and services. A universal transaction identifier may be associated with the consumer account and used to purchase goods and services from more than one selected goods and services providers.

The present invention may be used as shown in the following examples to allocate personal and business enterprise finances or to allocate and designate the utilization of valuables such as heirlooms, jewelry and other items. An example method may involve: (a) receiving, by a hybrid response system (“HRS”), a first speech-segment message that comprises a speech segment and is associated with a user-account, (b) the HRS determining that the speech segment indicates a purchase request, (c) the HRS determining a target product/service based on at least the purchase request, (d) the HRS determining a confidence level associated with a purchase of the target product/service, (e) if the confidence level is greater than or equal to a threshold level, then the HRS sending a purchase order, via the associated user-account, for the target product or service, otherwise, the HRS sending the purchase request and the target product/service to at least one guide computing system to facilitate a response to the purchase request.

Abstract: Fuel hedging is used by large corporations to reduce exposure to fuel price volatility. But individual consumers are not afforded the same opportunities. In an embodiment, a payment card is provided that stores units of purchased products, and allows a user to purchase future units of the product before redeeming the products (such as oil). In an embodiment, a user can purchase the payment card with purchased units at a kiosk at a gas station. A backend processor receives the purchase request and buys select derivatives on the market to match the purchase request. Upon authenticating the user, the backend processor sends an authorization message back to the kiosk that dispenses the payment card.
