  • Patent number: 9200112
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising a semi-crystalline, absorbable copolymer formulation wherein the first component is hydroxy-capped polycondensation product of diglycolic acid and a mixture of two idols, diethylene glycol (DEG) and ethylene glycol (EG), with DEG added in larger molar amount, and wherein the second component, glycolide is incorporated during the subsequent ring-opening polymerization. The resulting hydrophilic resin has low crystallinity level, glass transition temperature, Tg, slightly below room temperature, and may be particularly useful for making monofilaments, multifilaments, microspheres, or melt blown nonwoven constructs or other medical devices where fast hydrolysis rates and superior mechanical properties are desirable.

  • Patent number: 9056064
Abstract: A composition that rejuvenates hair by providing numerous functions for healthy, beautiful hair. The conditioner composition works best after shampooing the hair, whereby oil, grime, and debris are removed and the conditioner can maximize contact with the hair. The composition includes moisturizers that help retain moisture in the hair. The composition also serves as a reconstructor, penetrating the outer cuticle layer of the hair to the cortex and medulla layers of the hair, strengthening its structure through polymer crosslinking. The composition works as an acidity regulator. The composition includes heat absorbing polymers for shielding the hair against excessive heat caused by blow-dryers, curling irons, and hot rollers. The composition includes a surfactant to provide an additional layer to the hair for glossiness. The composition includes vitamins and nutrients efficacious for nourishing the hair follicle and hair strand itself.

  • Patent number: 9011908
Abstract: Fill materials for hydrophobic drugs, such as progesterone, and methods of making and using thereof are described herein. The fill material contains the hydrophobic drug dissolved in one or more fatty acids. The concentration of the hydrophobic drug is typically from about 7% to about 50% by weight of the fill material. The concentration of the one or more fatty acids is from about 60% to about 95% by weight of the carrier. The formulation also contains an organic acid and one or both of one or more pharmaceutically acceptable alcohols and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable mono-, di-, or triesters of medium or long chain fatty acids. The fill material can be encapsulated in a hard or soft capsule. The formulations described herein have a higher dissolution rate and faster onset of dissolution compared to micronized progesterone suspended in an oil and thus should have increased bioavailability in vivo.
