  • Patent number: 11451506
Abstract: A communications platform can be configured to reveal content of notifications at predefined times. When a first user sends a notification to a second user of the communications platform, the first user can provide content for the notification and specify a time when the content can be revealed to the second user. The notification can then be delivered to the second user with an indication of the specified time when the second user will be able to open the notification to reveal its content. Prior to the specified time for opening the notification, the second user can request a hint from the first user. When the hint is presented to the second user, the content of the notification can remain concealed.

  • Patent number: 11444898
Abstract: A computing device and computer-implemented method to provide user-control short message service (SMS). The method begins with accessing, by a server, data in a third-party format from a third-party server. The server and the third-party server are controlled by different business entities. Next, the data in the third-party format is filtered, which has been accessed according to user preferences, the user preferences including a mobile device identifier. Next, the data in the third-party format is converted which as specified by the user preferences into a format compatible with the SMS protocol or an instant message for receipt by a messaging app. Finally, the data is sent in which has been converted into the SMS format or instant message to the mobile device as specified by the mobile device identifier.

  • Patent number: 11444896
Abstract: Utilizing real-time feedback for message composition in a communication platform is described. Server(s) associated with a group-based communication platform can receive, from a client of a user associated with the group-based communication platform, a request to generate a new message and based at least in part on a determination of a recipient of the new message and communication data associated with the group-based communication platform or the recipient, can generate a recommendation associated with an aspect of the new message to optimize the new message for the recipient. In an example, the server(s) can cause a user interface element associated with the recommendation to be presented via a group-based communication user interface of the group-based communication platform in association with the new message.

  • Patent number: 11444894
Abstract: Example embodiments of messaging systems and methods are provided. An example system includes a database containing a plurality of messages, a plurality of emoji responses, and a plurality of text reactions. The system further includes a predictive model trained using the plurality of messages and the plurality of emoji responses as inputs and the plurality of text reactions as outputs to determine a mapping relationship between the inputs and the outputs. The predictive model receives a message and one or more emoji responses to the message, combines and summarizes the one or more emoji responses to a text reaction to the message based on the mapping relationship, and transmits the text reaction to a user who initiates the message.

  • Patent number: 11425073
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for reducing unwanted messages or spam within a real-time social networking service. According to certain aspects, a synchronous analysis module may operate in coordination with an asynchronous analysis module. Each of the synchronous analysis module and the asynchronous analysis module analyzes an incoming message from a user account to determine whether the incoming message has characteristics of spam, whereby the synchronous analysis is at a lower latency than the asynchronous analysis. The asynchronous analysis is afforded the ability to identify certain spam characteristics that the synchronous analysis may identify during its lower latency analysis.

  • Patent number: 11418615
Abstract: A proxy device receives a resource request from a requestor via a client device. The resource request is associated with a hosted resource, and the hosted resource is associated with a version-control tag. The proxy device determines, based on the version-control tag, information indicating a current state of the hosted resource. The proxy device obtains user management information associated with the requestor, and conditionally dispatches a processed resource request from the proxy device to a resource host based, at least in part, on the current state of the hosted resource and the user management information.

  • Patent number: 11394672
Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for hosting virtual chat rooms of a chat room are provided. For example, users (e.g., 3,000 users) may access video interfaces, hosting a video, and chat room interfaces associated with a chat room for the video (e.g., users may access a news website providing a live stream of a current event along with a chat room for discussing the live stream). Signals of the users (e.g., a user location, age, account profile information, prior chat room message behavior, etc.) are evaluated to identify user properties (e.g., the user is an active participant within chat rooms). The chat room may be sharded into a set of virtual chat rooms into which users are assigned based upon the user properties (e.g., 300 virtual chat rooms of 100 users each). In this way, users may have more meaningful interactions within the smaller virtual chat rooms.

  • Patent number: 11374887
Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to an automated assistant that allows third party applications to inject dependencies to leverage automated assistant functions. Furthermore, enabling such dependency injections can allow third party applications to preserve privacy of any application content that is used during execution of automated assistant functions. In some implementations, a third party application can initialize a function with an assistant dependency using parameters that are tagged as private. Initializing a function in such as a way can allow private content communicated between the third party application and the automated assistant to be abstracted for security purposes. The abstracted content can thereafter be communicated to a remote server-such as a server hosting an extensively trained machine learning model. Intelligent output provided by the server can then be incorporated into one or more processes of the third party application without comprising security.
