  • Patent number: 8145211
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of mobile telephony networks and more particularly to a device, a system and an associated method for ensuring continuity of telephony services on the network. The invention is based on the use, as a temporary backup for faulty HLR equipment, of HLR equipment possibly initially empty of any user data and which, during location demands from non-referenced subscribers, on its own initiative actuates the CIS information system in order to recover a minimum of data allowing identification of the subscriber on the network and therefore his activation. No synchronization with the active HLRs is necessary since the data are recovered as necessary on the information system. In addition, the updating data traffic between active HLRs and backup HLR is avoided.

  • Patent number: 8107959
Abstract: When a base station receives a report of signal power of a common pilot channel of each cell received at a mobile station, the base station converts the received signal power in the report on the basis of the transmission power of the common pilot channel of each of the cells. A base station controller determines the cell to which the mobile station is to be connected on the basis of the received signal power of the common pilot channel in each cell.

  • Patent number: 8086263
Abstract: Double transformer balun for maximum PA (Power Amplifier) power. A novel approach is presented herein by which conversion from a differential signal to single-ended signal may be achieved using a double transformer balun design. The secondary coils of the double transformer balun also operate as a choke for the PA supply voltage. The secondary coils can operate as an RF (Radio Frequency) trap or choke to keep any AC (Alternating Current) signal components and to pass any DC (Direct Current) components. By using a double transformer balun design, relatively thinner tracks may be employed thereby ensuring a high degree of electromagnetic coupling efficiency and high performance. Also, these relatively thinner tracks consume a relatively small amount of space on the die. The double transformer balun design also includes a matching Z (impedance) block that is operable to match the Z of an antenna or line that the PA is driving.

  • Patent number: 7388468
Abstract: According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method to backscatter modulate a first radio-frequency (RF) signal from a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag. An oscillator calibration value is retrieved from a non-volatile memory associated with the RFID tag. An oscillation frequency signal is generated within the RFID tag, the generating of the oscillation signal being performed utilizing the oscillator calibration value. A command signal is generated within the RFID tag, the command signal being based on command data received at the RFID tag in a second radio-frequency signal from an RFID reader. The first radio-frequency signal is backscatter modulated in accordance with both the oscillation frequency signal and the command signal.

  • Patent number: 7332997
Abstract: A door lock drive controller, after outputting a drive signal to a drive circuit of a door lock actuator based on a signal from a remote control terminal, outputs an answer back signal in the form of pulses to a lamp drive circuit to light a hazard lamp. In a buzzer drive controller, pulses are converted to waveforms with changing voltage values at a waveform converter. A repetitive pulse with frequencies that changes is generated by a frequency generator based on the waveform-converted pulses and, in accordance therewith, a buzzer is driven by an output unit. A whistle-like tone can be obtained by causing the frequency of the repetitive pulse to change in the direction of increase.
