Abstract: A method of establishing a look-up table for an electrophoretic display is disclosed. The method is for establishing a plurality of driving waveforms of the electrophoretic display to the look-up table. The method includes dividing the plurality of driving waveforms to a plurality of time intervals according to a plurality of voltage values of the plurality of driving waveforms. The method also includes preparing a plurality of voltage waveform records according to the plurality of the voltage values and numbers of a unit times of the corresponding time intervals, and storing the plurality of voltage waveform records into the look-up table. Therefore, the storing capacity occupied by the look-up table of the electrophoretic display may be saved.

  • Patent number: 9176619
Abstract: A connection portion extends from an operation substrate, and a retaining groove of an elastic body is retained in a retaining hole of the connection portion. When a shaft portion of a retaining member is inserted into a through hole of the elastic body and screwed into an internally-threaded hole of a panel, an upper elastic portion of the elastic body is interposed between the connection portion and a support portion of the panel, and a lower elastic portion of the elastic body is interposed between the connection portion and an facing member. When an operation surface of the operation substrate is pressed, the connection portion rotates in a direction and the upper elastic portion and the lower elastic portion of the elastic body are compressed, whereby an appropriate operation reaction force and an elastic return force can be exerted.

  • Patent number: 9141234
Abstract: Pointing devices and related methods are disclosed that generally involve manipulation of a cursor or other user interface component based on inputs from a user. In one embodiment, an image sensor captures an image of the underside of a transparent contact surface and determines whether an object (e.g., a user's finger) is present in the image. Cursor movement information comprising direction and velocity components can be calculated from a single image by equating the size of a detected object with a desired velocity and by equating the position of the detected object relative to a fixed reference point with a desired direction. Thus, detection of user motion is not required, nor is comparison of successive image frames relative to a time reference. As a result, a device having few or no moving parts can be provided while at the same time permitting continuous cursor motion without repetitive swiping by a user.

  • Patent number: 9134898
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus that can prevent invoking of unintended functions in gesture operation. The apparatus displays gesture functions executable by movement of touch position, and when movement of touch position satisfies a first condition, confirms executable gesture functions to display confirmed functions. When the movement of touch position satisfies a second condition after the confirmation, the apparatus cancels the confirmation. When the touch input is released in the confirmed state, the apparatus executes the confirmed functions, and when the touch input is released in the canceled state, control does not execute gesture functions.

  • Patent number: 9106803
Abstract: An accessory device, such as a mobile telematics unit, captures tags for user desired media content items from a content broadcast, such as a digital radio broadcast or television broadcast. Each tag provides one or more parameters for identification of a song or other audio selection. The accessory device sends each tag over a mobile communications network air interface, with an identifier of an account of a mobile communications network subscriber. A server receives such tag transmissions and compiles a list of one or more tags directly from the accessory device, for the subscriber on the identified mobile service account. In some situations, the server generates a playlist from the stored list of tags and communicates at least a portion of the playlist to a personal media device, upon access by the personal media device to the subscriber's account.

  • Patent number: 9069419
Abstract: Methods are proposed for object positioning for an X-Y projected capacitive touch panel. In an embodiment, capacitance sensing under inphase excitation of traces is applied to set a base value when the capacitive touch panel is not touched and to obtain capacitances at intersections when the capacitive touch panel is touched, and the base value is compared with the measured capacitances to identify touch points. In other embodiments, X-Y projected sensing and all-point sensing are combined to reduce the amount of calculation and achieve the same positioning effect as an all-point capacitive touch panel.
