  • Patent number: 4288077
Abstract: This invention relates to a horse racing lottery game. The apparatus for the game comprises a racetrack having a plurality of starting positions and a finish line, a plurality of game pieces supported on the track and being movable therearound, there being less game pieces than players playing the game, and a plurality of groups of tickets corresponding to the game pieces such that each group has a plurality of tickets each having indicia corresponding to only one of the game pieces and indicia enabling each ticket to be distinguished from other tickets of the same group. Each player selects tickets of his choice and places the selected tickets of each group in a separate container pertaining to the respective game piece. The tickets are then shuffled, and one ticket is drawn at random from each container, thereby indicating which of the players is assigned to each of the horses running in the race.

  • Patent number: 4278255
Abstract: This invention relates to a board game apparatus of the type wherein each player moves a plurality of playing pieces over the playing board from respective designated starting spaces to corresponding designated destination spaces. Located between the starting spaces and the destination spaces is a grid of longitudinally and laterally contiguous playing spaces, with certain of the playing spaces being designated as "safe" spaces for each player, and with the safe spaces for one player differing from those of another player. The safe spaces are so arranged that a player can take a relatively direct but unsafe path from his starting space to his destination space, or if desired, he can take a somewhat longer but safer path from his starting space to his destination space.

  • Patent number: 4276030
Abstract: One end of an upper frame carrying an occupant station of a simulated vehicle is mounted on a base frame to pivot about a vertical axis, and a dummy steering wheel at the occupant station is linked to pivot the upper frame. Combined rotary and translation bearings support the other end of the upper frame on a shaft carried on the base frame to accommodate the pivotal movement about the vertical axis and also to provide a small upward pitching of the upper frame during pivoting of the upper frame in either direction from a central position, so that gravity acts to restore the upper frame and the steering wheel to centered conditions.

  • Patent number: 4266775
Abstract: A game of commodity trading having a world map with a plurality of circles and disks placed on the circles corresponding to different commodities. A command die, a quantity die, a commodity die and a market price setting spinner are used in play of the game. The players start by rolling the commodity die, picking a corresponding disk and buying a corresponding commodity until all disks are gone. The disks have letters on them and the players form words from the disks. The market price spinner is then used to set the market price for the commodities. The players then throw the three dice and follow the dice directions. The winner is the player with the most money at the end of the predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 4258918
Abstract: A game in which a player attempts to move an object through a maze has a housing which has an upstanding fulcrum located within the housing. A platform member having a maze located on its upper surface which is viewable outside of the housing is located in the housing above the fulcrum such that the platform member rests on the fulcrum and is tiltable a full 360 degrees about the fulcrum. A portion of the platform serves as a cam follower. A cam member is rotatably mounted on the housing adjacent to the fulcrum and positioned so as to be capable of interacting with that portion of the platform serving as a cam follower. In response to rotation of the cam the platform, including the maze located thereon, is tilted. An object located within the maze is capable of moving within the maze in response to tilting of platform.

  • Patent number: 4258922
Abstract: A game for both entertainment and education intended to increase familiarity and facility with binary mathematics and typical logic functions of the type normally carried out by digital computers. Two or more players each select by random chance a succession of binary digits. Instructions for operations to be performed on the digit sequence are likewise selected at random by the players, such operations being of the types typically performed in the arithmetic logic unit of a digital computer. In one embodiment of the invention, each digit in the sequence is temporarily recorded by each player on game board apparatus and is changed in accordance with the operations performed as the game progresses. A wide variety of game rules may be devised for carrying out adversary type games and determining a winner.

  • Patent number: 4257600
Abstract: A time reaction game apparatus having a tiltable playing surface which is at least slightly convexed and has a goal located at or near the high point thereof. The goal may be in the form of a recess adapted to receive a playing ball. A timer is set and a ball is released onto the playing surface. The player of the game operates a manually actuable mechanism such as a remote joystick to tilt the playing surface to cause the playing ball to enter the goal. When the player is successful, the ball enters the goal, which automatically releases the next ball onto the playing surface. The timer goes off after a predetermined time period, and the goal may be automatically blocked as for example, by blocking the recess.
