Abstract: Systems and methods for an interface for the configuration of a system for the association of data records are disclosed. Embodiments of the invention provide a graphical interface for manipulating a representation of an algorithm for the configuration of such a system, including the configuration of how a system transforms data records from their native format to a standard data format, selects set of candidates and associates data records.

Abstract: A system including a management server, a medium issuing apparatus, and a service provider is disclosed. The medium issuing apparatus includes recording means for recording right information and unique identifiers on a package storage medium. The right information denotes services available to the package storage medium, and includes a download authorization bit and an upload authorization bit. The management server includes receiving means for receiving the right information and the identifiers from the package storage medium. The management server also includes storing means for storing the right information corresponding to each of the identifiers and the identifiers in a database. In addition, the management server includes checking means for checking an identifier transmitted from a terminal device by way of the service provider against the identifiers stored in the database.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for identifying location based rules related to a network connected device are described. A network connected device may transmit a set of data identifying the location of the device and an identifier unique to the device to a server. The server may also receive an action request, wherein the action request is associated with the identifier. The server may select a rule in a database to address the action request, the rule applicable to the identifier and location of the device. Various embodiments related to financial card transactions, access to financial information, emergency services contact, and electronic message filtering are also addressed.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for generating a semantic translation rule to support natural language search. In one method, a first expression and a second expression are received. A first representation is generated based on the first expression, and a second representation is generated based on the second expression. Aligned pairs of a first term in the first representation and a second term in the second representation are determined. For each aligned pair, the first term and the second term are replaced with a variable associated with the aligned pair. Word facts that occur in both the first representation and the second representation are removed from the first representation and the second representation. The remaining word facts in the first representation are replaced with a broader representation of the word facts. The translation rule including the first representation, an operator, and the second semantic representation is generated.

Abstract: An intermediate server device is installed among a financial institution server device, a local government server device and an applicant terminal device. The intermediate server device transmits application processing information received from the applicant terminal device to the financial institution server device after adding data for verification and application ID. Partially masked application processing information is sent to the local government server device for verification. Then the intermediate server device manages verification history for certification request information with application IDs requested from the financial institution server device based on the application IDs.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method comprises creating and storing an ontology for a data store in response to receiving first user input defining the ontology, wherein the ontology comprises a plurality of data object types and a plurality of object property types; creating one or more parser definitions in response to receiving second user input defining the parser definitions, wherein each of the parser definitions specifies one or more sub-definitions of how to transform first input data into modified input data that is compatible with one of the object property types; and storing each of the one or more parser definitions in association with one of the plurality of object property types.

Abstract: A system and method are directed towards managing a display of initial impression attributes to bring the most relevant information into quick view. The view can be customized by the user. Within a search context, a search may be performed based on a set of search criteria. The user may establish a set of initial impression attributes to be displayed, or employ a default set of initial impression attributes. The default set may be determined based on statistical analysis. When a result of the search is displayed, the initial impression attributes may also be displayed such that the user may review the initial impression attributes and make a decision based, in part, on the initial impression attributes. Initial impression attributes may also be employed within threaded online conversations or browsing through inventory. The search or browse contexts may include online dating searches, merchandises searches, groups, real estate, even employment searches.

Abstract: A method of interpreting handwritten data inputted on a printed form using an optically sensing pen. The form has a plurality of different form fields for the handwritten data input. The form also includes a plurality of printed tags and the method includes the steps of: (a) receiving, from the pen, digital ink representing handwritten data input of the pen relative to the form; (b) identifying the form field in which handwritten data has been inputted; (c) identifying a set of predetermined text values associated with the identified form field; and (d) interpreting the handwritten data by decoding the digital ink and converting the decoded digital ink into computer text. The computer text is selected only from the set of predetermined text values.

Abstract: In one particular embodiment, the disclosure is directed to a network management system. The network monitoring system includes at least one device definition file, a simple network management protocol enabled communications interface, and a data access interface. The definition file includes query instructions associated with portions of MIBs associated with a network device. The simple network management protocol enabled communications interface may access the network device using the query instructions and may receive response data from the network device. The data access interface may be configured to provide external access to the response data and configure thresholds.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for implementing backup history cleanup operations for a database management system are provided. The method includes identifying a version control base (VCB) value for a most recently stored record in a history table, the record representing a back up copy of a data set. The method includes scanning the table starting from most recently stored records to identify records that represent previous backup copies of the data set, the records assigned VCB values. Using a retention limit value assigned to each of the VCBs, the method includes selecting at least one record to determine the deletion date for use in implementing the cleanup operations.

Abstract: A semantic relational database has a phrase registry data store of definitions and data handlers that syntactically traverse sentences and report word phrases of relationships defined by the sentences. In some aspects, the database has a sentence data structure in which a sentence refers to another sentence by containing a sentence phrase definition for the other sentence. In other aspects, the database has a sub-sentence data structure that stores sentences as sub-sentences having syntax types specified by a syntax type data structure. A modified relationship is obtained by one sub-sentence being designated to modify another sub-sentence of the same sentence.

Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for auditing database queries, wherein comments are added by a server prior to the server forwarding the queries to the database system. The comments are then used to derive audit information, which is correlated with other audit information in a different server, to produce a more complete audit record.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for indexing XML documents using path subsetting. According to one embodiment, a PATH table created for storing one row for each indexed node of the XML documents using user-defined criteria. The user-defined criteria are used to determine which nodes of XML documents to included in The PATH TABLE. The PATH table row for a node includes (1) information for locating the XML document that contains the node, (2) information that identifies the path of the node, and (3) information that identifies the position of the node within the hierarchical structure of the XML document that contains the node. Use of the user defined criteria is transparent to any query improves DML indexes overhead costs.

This program analysis method includes: storing an entity that is an information unit as an object of a processing in a program into a relation table in association with an event affecting a processing for the entity; calculating importance degrees of the events by using data stored in the relation table; and identifying an event affecting a processing for a specific entity by using the data stored in the relation table, and calculating an influence degree of the specific entity by using the importance degree of the identified event. Because the user can grasp the influence degree of the entity, it becomes easy to grasp how much the update of the entity affects other portion in the information system.

The rendition function is provided by recording rendition information to indicate rendition attributes changing audio content according to data format or specific functions on a resource file of the audio content.
