  • Patent number: 10536974
Abstract: An electronic device may coordinate access to a shared communication channel with one or more other electronic devices. After receiving frames from the one or more other electronic devices with information specifying back-off values associated with at least an access category for the one or more other electronic devices in a subsequent potential slot transmission opportunity, the electronic device may update a stored list of known occupied back-off values for the subsequent potential slot transmission opportunity. Then, the electronic device may select and may transmit to the one or more other electronic devices an available back-off value for the electronic device in the subsequent potential slot transmission opportunity that is not included in the stored list and that is associated with an access category. Next, during a slot corresponding to the selected back-off value, the electronic device may transmit a second frame to at least another electronic device.

  • Patent number: 10536245
Abstract: A base station communicates with a terminal, for which an uplink component carrier and downlink component carriers are configured. The base station adjusts a payload size of control information, transmitted in a downlink control channel, based on a basic payload size, and maps the control information onto a search space in at least one of the downlink component carriers. The basic payload size of the control information mapped onto a search space in a primary downlink component carrier is based on a number of information bits obtained from a bandwidth of the primary downlink component carrier, and on a number of information bits obtained from a bandwidth of the uplink component carrier. The basic payload size of the control information mapped onto a search space in a non-primary downlink component carrier is based on a number of information bits obtained from a bandwidth of the non-primary downlink component carrier.

  • Patent number: 10530454
Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for adapting which beam to use for communicating signals. A method is performed by a radio transceiver device. The radio transceiver device is capable of communicating the signals using beams selected from a set of beams. The method comprises communicating signals with another radio transceiver device while using a first beam selected from the set of beams. The method comprises detecting that the signals are communicated at decreasing quality level while using the first beam. The decreasing quality level is caused by radio propagation channel deterioration. The method comprises, in response thereto, initiating a switch to a backup beam of the first beam, without performing any beam training, to continue communicating the signals with said another radio transceiver device, thereby adapting which beam to use for communicating the signals.

  • Patent number: 10511477
Abstract: Examples described herein include methods, devices, and systems which may implement different processing stages for wireless communication in processing units. Such data processing may include a source data processing stage, a baseband processing stage, a digital front-end processing stage, and a radio frequency (RF) processing stage. Data may be received from a sensor of device and then processed in the stages to generate output data for transmission. Processing the data in the various stages may occur during an active time period of a discontinuous operating mode. During the active time period, a reconfigurable hardware platform may allocate all or a portion of the processing units to implement the processing stages. Examples of systems and methods described herein may facilitate the processing of data for 5G (e.g., New Radio (NR)) wireless communications in a power-efficient and time-efficient manner.

  • Patent number: 10419241
Abstract: The present disclosure describes traffic forwarding in a network where a virtual local area network (VLAN) exists in multiple network sites that are geographically dispersed and connected via virtual links. A first edge device (ED) at a first site receives, from a second ED at a second site, information identifying a VLAN of the second ED through a virtual link. The VLAN identified in the information is an active VLAN of the second ED. An association between (i) the VLAN of the second ED and (ii) the virtual link through which the information is received from the second ED is recorded. When forwarding traffic to the VLAN of the second ED, it is determined the virtual link associated with the VLAN of the second ED is determined based on the recorded association and the traffic is forwarded via the determined virtual link.

  • Patent number: 10412597
Abstract: Systems and methods for selectively enabling Robust Header Compression (RoHC) for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls in a cellular communications network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a data radio bearer for a VoIP call is established between a base station and a mobile terminal. During the VoIP call, a radio frequency parameter for the data radio bearer is monitored. When the radio frequency parameter for the data radio bearer satisfies a predefined coverage-based condition, the base station enables RoHC for the VoIP call. In one preferred embodiment, the radio frequency parameter is a Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) for the data radio bearer for the VoIP call, and the predefined coverage-based condition is a predefined SINR threshold below which the base station enables RoHC. By enabling RoHC in this manner, RoHC resources are selectively made available for those VoIP calls that will benefit most from increased cell coverage provided by RoHC.

  • Patent number: 10375721
Abstract: A method in a user equipment for requesting that a base station schedule the user equipment for an uplink data transmission to the base station is provided. The user equipment comprises a buffer. Directly or indirectly responsive to receiving data into the buffer to be transmitted to the base station, the user equipment generates a scheduling request trigger. The scheduling request trigger is configured to trigger the sending of a scheduling request to the base station if the trigger is pending at the next scheduling request opportunity, and to remain pending until it is cancelled. The user equipment cancels the pending scheduling request trigger when the data is accounted for in a buffer status report, which reports the size of the buffer to the base station, or when the data is included directly in a scheduled uplink data transmission whichever occurs first.

  • Patent number: 10334521
Abstract: An information processing device includes a wireless communication unit, a main system, and a subsystem. The information processing device is enabled to selectively execute a ready mode in which at least the main system in its entirety is activated, and a sleep mode in which at least a portion of the main system is not activated. When the information processing device transitions from the ready mode to the sleep mode, if the main system determines that the main system is connected to the wireless network and that peer-to-peer networking is ineffective, the main system carries out configuring of the subsystem to enable the subsystem to respond to the external device via the wireless communication unit during the sleep mode, and the main system transitions to, as the sleep mode, a first sleep mode in which the subsystem is activated without the main system in its entirety being activated.

  • Patent number: 10263914
Abstract: A method is executed by a network device in a network including a plurality of network devices. The network device implements a software defined networking (SDN) controller, where the SDN controller controls a first switch and a second switch in a network. The method improves packet processing performance in the network by reorganizing flow entries to decrease time to match active flows. The method includes receiving flow statistics for a first flow from the first switch, determining, based on the flow statistics for the first flow, that the first flow has a traffic usage that exceeds a pre-defined threshold, and in response to determining that the first flow has a traffic usage that exceeds the pre-defined threshold, programming the second switch to create a new flow table for processing the first flow or to increase a priority for matching a flow entry for the first flow within an existing flow table.
