  • Patent number: 11304101
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are described for delivering wireless telecommunications services using the Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) protocol, the Video over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) protocol, and other such protocols that implement the Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) to deliver packet flows to mobile devices. Metrics relating to the RTP packet flow may be generated, and may be collected from a mobile device periodically or on an as-needed basis. The RTP-based metrics may be utilized to determine that an LTE inter-frequency handover should be performed. Inter-frequency handover criteria may specify thresholds for RTP metrics within an individual reporting period, or may be used to determine that an inter-frequency handover will occur if a rolling or weighted average of RTP metrics satisfies a threshold.

  • Patent number: 11284235
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a base station communicates with machine-type-communication (MTC) devices by dividing the base station's cell bandwidth into (non-overlapping) narrowbands and subframes in each narrowband. The base station generates and transmits control information (DCI) for allocating a set of physical resource blocks (PRBs) in a plurality of subframes for an MTC device. After the base station transmits the data, the MTC device generates and transmits an HARQ feedback indicating that i) the data has been successfully received in each one of the plurality of subframes (e.g. a single ‘ACK’) or ii) the data has not been received in at least one of the plurality of subframes (e.g. a single ‘NACK’).

  • Patent number: 11265852
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to communicate with a base station on different channels or messages with different processing timelines. In order to prevent a collision between processing communications associated with the different length TTIs, the UE may drop one or more communications on corresponding channels with longer processing timelines to receive and/or process the transmission on the channel with a shorter processing timeline. Additionally, the UE may transmit uplink control information (UCI) for the one or more dropped communications, where the UCI may include hybrid access request (HARQ) acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) feedback, channel quality indicator (CQI), precoding matrix indicator (PMI), rank indicator (RI), etc. If a downlink transmission is dropped, the UE may transmit a NAK message. Alternatively, if an uplink transmission is dropped, the UE may transmit at least a portion of the UCI.
