Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that supports connectivity to a core network via an access network. A user equipment (UE) may establish connectivity with an access network and perform a discovery procedure to identify and select a packet data gateway that provides connectivity to a core network via a core network node. The UE may perform an authentication procedure with the core network node via the packet data gateway to be authenticated with the core network for establishing connectivity with the packet data gateway. The UE may receive a set of control plane addressing information via the packet data gateway corresponding to a secure tunnel established between the UE and the packet data gateway. The UE may perform an attach procedure via the secure tunnel with the core network node without re-authenticating the UE.

  • Patent number: 10638487
Abstract: A wireless device receives parameters indicating that first bearer(s) of bearer(s) are configured with duplication. Each bearer in bearer(s) is identified by an identifier. A control element of a fixed size of one octet is received. The control element comprises a sequence of activation bits comprising a first activation bit for a first bearer in the first bearer(s). A first position of the first activation bit in the one octet identifies a second position of a first bearer identifier in an ordered list of the bearer identifiers. A first value of the first activation bit indicates whether the PDCP duplication for the first bearer is activated or deactivated. In response to the control element indicating that the PDCP duplication is activated for the first bearer, a first packet corresponding to the first bearer is transmitted via a first cell and a duplicate of the first packet via a second cell.

  • Patent number: 10630766
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically registering a communication device are disclosed. As one example, a communication network architecture is disclosed that includes multiple feature servers, multiple registration redirect servers (RRSs), and multiple communication devices. The feature servers provide services to the communication devices. The RRSs each service a shared virtual Internet Protocol (IP) address and perform load balancing of registration requests on behalf of multiple feature servers located geographically proximate to the RRS. The communication devices are configured to issue initial registration requests intended for any of the feature servers to the shared virtual IP address, whereby upon issuing an initial registration request, a communication device is directed to a particular feature server that is associated with a RRS that is closest to the communication device, and where the particular feature server is selected by a load balancing routine executing on the RRS.

  • Patent number: 10609724
Abstract: A BS determines an amount of resource overloading for a contention transmission unit (CTU) access region associated with a grant-free uplink transmission scheme in a multiple access system. The BS determines a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) limit indicating a maximum MCS level for the CTU access region. The BS sends the MCS limit to a plurality of user equipments (UEs) associated with the first CTU access region. A UE receives from the base station the MCS limit and determines a first MCS index within the MCS limit for a first uplink transmission. The UE sends the first uplink transmission to the base station using a CTU in the CTU access region. The first uplink transmission includes user data and the first MCS index determined at the first UE.

  • Patent number: 10594651
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for bridging communications between a private network and a public network. A mapping that associates a first set of IP addresses of endpoints in the private network with a second set of IP addresses of endpoints in the public network is provided which enables communications between the private network and public network for network-address-translation (NAT). In response to a data packet having a first IP address of the first set of IP addresses, the data packet is used to determine whether the local line should be accessed. In response to an indication that the local line should be accessed, the identifier among the second set of IP addresses is used to activate an analog-telephone bridging (ATB) circuit and redirect a call associated with the data packet by passing the data packet through the ATB circuit.
