Patent number: 4795106Abstract: A clamping head is equipped with angular spreading bodies which engage a winding core. Impingement of the winding core end face on a stop moves the spreading bodies longitudinally on a bevel of the clamping head core against spring force, thereby spreading the spreading bodies so as to engage the inside circumference of the winding core. To that end, the clamping head features a sleeve-shaped part which centers the winding core and is provided with longitudinally extending slots for the angular spreading bodies. A shank of each spreading body, extends radially outward, forms at least indirectly the stop for the winding core end face. Longitudinally movable in the slot, the other shank of the spreading body has a projection which protrudes radially inward and interacts with the bevel of the clamping head core so as to cause the shank to move beyond the peripheral surface of the sleeve-shaped part as the projection runs onto the bevel.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1987Date of Patent: January 3, 1989Assignee: J. Patent number: 4789109Abstract: The invention relates to a web winding method and a winder for carrying out core replacement in a support drum winder. The core replacement is carried out with a sequence of measures, where the cutting of the web, removing of completed rolls (3) and placing of a new roll core between the support drums (1,2) is carried out by one single device comprising cutting, pushing and feeding means. The web (18) is held unmovably towards the trailing support drum (1) during the core replacement by means of a retainer device (16,17). For forwarding the removal of the rolls these are lifted by the same retainer device, if needed, to a height as required by the pusher device.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1986Date of Patent: December 6, 1988Assignee: Oy Wartsila AbInventors: Markku Kyytsonen, Raimo Pihlajamaa, Kai Fabritius, Heikki Niskanen, Jaakko Uotinen

Patent number: 4789110Abstract: A method and apparatus for winding a magnetic tape on a reel. A magnetic field is applied along the width of the wound tape to pull the magnetic tape against a flange. Air is jetted between the tape layers at the point where the tape is wound so that the layers can more freely move relative to each other. Air pressure is reduced at another point around the wound tape so as to deplete the air so entrained between the layers.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1987Date of Patent: December 6, 1988Assignee: Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaaki Sakaguchi, Kazuo Kubota
