  • Patent number: 11489784
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for a path maximum transmission unit (MTU) discovery method that allows the sender of IP packets to discover the MTU of packets that it is sending over a conduit to a given destination. The MTU is the largest packet that can be sent through the network along a path without requiring fragmentation. The path MTU discovery method actively probes each sending path of each conduit with fragmentation enabled to determine a current MTU and accordingly increase or decrease the conduit MTU. The path MTU discovery process is resilient to errors and supports retransmission if packets are lost in the discovery process. The path MTU discovery process is dynamically adjusted at a periodic rate to adjust to varying network conditions.

  • Patent number: 11424983
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a network forwarding element that can be dynamically reconfigured to adjust its data message processing to stay within a desired operating temperature or power consumption range. In some embodiments, the network forwarding element includes (1) a data-plane forwarding circuit (“data plane”) to process data tuples associated with data messages received by the IC, and (2) a control-plane circuit (“control plane”) for configuring the data plane forwarding circuit. The data plane includes several data processing stages to process the data tuples. The data plane also includes an idle-signal injecting circuit that receives from the control plane configuration data that the control plane generates based on the IC's temperature. Based on the received configuration data, the idle-signal injecting circuit generates idle control signals for the data processing stages.

  • Patent number: 11336484
Abstract: A relay device is one of relay devices each including (i) a common port connected to a terminal and (ii) two ring ports connected to other relay devices via communication lines. Upon receiving via the common port a frame whose destination is a terminal connected to a different relay device under one of the communication lines being abnormal, the relay device transmits the frame via both (i) one of the ring ports bypassing the abnormal communication line and (ii) a communication bus. In contrast, upon receiving a frame, whose destination is a terminal connected with the relay device, via one of the ring ports and a frame, whose destination is the terminal connected with the relay device, via the communication bus, the relay device determines whether the frames match. If the frames match, the relay device transfers the matched frame to the terminal via the common port.

  • Patent number: 11330586
Abstract: A wireless access point controls Carrier Aggregation (CA) over a wireless repeater chain. The wireless access point exchanges signaling with User Equipment (UE) over the wireless repeater chain which uses a number of repeater hops. The wireless access point selects a radio frequency for a Primary Component Carrier (PCC) based on the number of repeater hops. The wireless access point exchanges user data with the UE over the wireless repeater chain using the selected radio frequency for the PCC. The wireless access point determines uplink throughput for the user data. The wireless access point re-selects the radio frequency for the PCC based on the number of repeater hops and the uplink throughput. The wireless access point exchanges additional user data with the UE over the wireless repeater chain using the re-selected radio frequency for the PCC.
