  • Patent number: 5359866
Abstract: A latching holder for engaging an article comprises first and second co-acting members (1,2) which define a recess (8) for receiving an article. The members (1,2) are pivotally engaged together on one side of the recess (8). The first and second members have releasable co-acting cam means (11,29) on the opposite side of the recess, the cam means being operated to lock the first and second co-acting members together. A locking arm (20) is preferably used to operate the cam means. The holder has particular utility in holding the RF (radio frequency) aerial of a helicopter to the tail boom.

  • Patent number: 5353563
Abstract: A reinforced panel including a fiberglass reinforced plastic sheet and a framework having a plurality of interconnected beam members partially immersed within the plastic sheet. A plurality of woven straps soaked in plastic are pressed in perpendicular abutment with selected beam members with the ends of such straps being immersed within the plastic sheet. The plastic material, when completely solidified, bonds with the frame and the straps, thereby securing the frame to the sheet as a common structural unit. An alternative embodiment excludes the use of the straps and employs a cover bonded to the plastic sheet and the frame by plastics similar to that forming the plastic sheet.

  • Patent number: 5351509
Abstract: Device for closing and coupling carryall cases having a shell and a counter-shell which are mutually hinged, the shell being provided with brackets for coupling to racks of a motorcycle. The device has a shaped plate fixed inside an accommodation seat defined within the shell. The shaped plate has first pivoting lugs for linkages which define a first pivoting axis for lever systems for coupling to the counter-shell and a second pivoting axis for a locking plate. The shaped plate has second pivoting lugs for a handle of the case, and the locking plate is provided with a lock and bolt mechanism for closing the device and with an opening for permitting uncoupling of the carryall case from a motorcycle. A snap-action release button connects the linkages to the first pivoting lugs and connects the handle to the second pivoting lugs. The handle has a cross-member which, in closed position, is interposed between the lever systems and the locking plate.

  • Patent number: 5349835
Abstract: An improved cylindrical lock comprising a housing, a lower pin seat mounted on the housing, a spindle, a plurality of springs, and plural sets of upper and lower pins. The spindle is constructed by a cylinder and an upper pin seat which is annular and circumferently provided with a plurality of holes. The upper portion of the upper pin seat is provided with an annular wall having a slit for accommodating the outward protruding wing of a key. The inner portion of the wall is provided with a plurality of semicircular grooves diametrically opposing the holes in the upper pin seat, so that one end of each semicircular groove communicates with the corresponding hole in order to form a longitudinal circular hole for receiving a set of springs and cylindrical pins and the other end of each semicircular groove is formed as a groove wall which can prevent the pins from being popped out. Thus, the cylindrical pins can only move between the semicircular grooves and the holes.

  • Patent number: 5349830
Abstract: A lock system has lock cylinders (5) in which the rotor (9) is lodged as usual in the cylinder housing, (11) as well as lock cylinders (6) in which the rotor (10) is rotated through 180.degree. about its longitudinal axis relative to the other rotors (9). The security keys for the lock system are flat keys and not turning keys and, in the event that these are priority keys, have two completely independent key codes. The invention also provides a further possibility for increasing the number of variations of the lock and thus for increasing its security.

  • Patent number: 5346283
Abstract: A dental patient chair has an adjustable headrest on a headrest carrier. The headrest is pivotably hinged around a transverse first axis on a bracing member which, in turn, is adjustable in the longitudinal direction in the backrest. In addition, the headrest is connected by a linkage which is pivotably connected on a second axis offset from the first axis so that movement of the linkage causes tilting of the headrest. The linkage is shifted as the headrest carrier is extended and contracted.

  • Patent number: 5345798
Abstract: A code lock device comprising an actuator responding to a release operation and a locking operation, and an actuation which performs reciprocating motion and normal and reverse rotation. A plurality of dials for setting a release code series and a plurality of drive plates each of which responds to each dial and integrally rotates with each actuation shaft are provided on the actuation shaft, and a dial enforced reset mechanism is equipped between each drive plate and each corresponding dial. This dial enforced reset mechanism makes each drive plate and each corresponding dial engage each other by an engaging means in response to reciprocating motion and normal and reverse rotation of the actuation shaft in the case of the release operation or the locking operation, and makes each dial forcibly rotate to break the release code series in response to rotation of the actuation shaft.
