  • Patent number: 8934480
Abstract: A processor is configured to receive call records from telecommunication network and load the call records into a telephone number (TN) list. Local Routing Number (LRN) data identifying ported numbers are obtained from a reference database and applied to the call records to enrich the call records with ported information. Also, Local Exchange Routing Guide (LERG) data associated with the LRN data are obtained from the reference database and applied to the call records to enrich the call records with LERG information. Based on the LERG information, an originating carrier from a routing carrier for the call records is distinguished. The originating carrier is a carrier originating a call and passing the call to the routing carrier for delivery to its final destination. The ownership to the call records are assigned based on the originating carrier.

  • Patent number: 8886796
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to invoking and managing load-balancing operation(s) applied to partitions within a distributed computing environment, where each partition represents a key range of data for a storage account. The partitions affected by the load-balancing operation(s) are source partitions hosted on a primary storage stamp and/or destination partitions hosted on a secondary storage stamp, where the primary and secondary storage stamps are located in geographically distinct areas and are equipped to replicate the storage account's data therebetween. The load-balancing operation(s) include splitting partitions into child partitions upon detecting an increased workload as a result of active replication, merging partitions to form parent partitions upon detecting a reduction in workload as a result of decreased processing-related resource consumption, or offloading partitions based on resource consumption.

  • Patent number: 8873587
Abstract: A communication method using time-division multiplexing that enables permanent communication between user terminals. One of the terminals is a master terminal, the others being slave terminals. The transmission channel is divided into frames, each frame being divided into time slots. Each slave terminal identifies a free time slot in the current frame, in listening mode, and transmits data in the identified time slot, in transmission mode, during at least one following frame. As soon as the slave terminal ceases transmitting, the identified time slot becomes free again.

  • Patent number: 8873380
Abstract: In a multi-ring communication network, first and second rings include first and second connection nodes, respectively, that are adjacently connected to each other. The first connection node receives, from adjacent nods, traffic information storing a pair of input and output node identifiers in association with each of storage areas included in a frame to be transmitted, where the input node identifier identifies an adjacent node from which data is inputted, and the output node identifier identifies an adjacent node to which the data is outputted. When the received traffic information includes the output node identifier identifying the second connection node, the first connection node sets a plurality of redundant path segments each including the second connection node, based on the received traffic information, where the plurality of redundant path segments includes a currently-used path segment.

  • Patent number: 8873392
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with controlling the flow of packets in a network are described. According to one embodiment, an apparatus includes a transceiver and a flow logic. The flow logic is configured to control the transceiver to transmit a frame to a downstream device by determining whether the frame matches a key value. The key value identifies a source of frames. The key value is part of a flow control rule that specifies an action to perform for frames received from the source that are to be transmitted to the downstream device. The flow logic is also configured to control the transceiver to transmit a frame to a downstream device by, in response to determining that the frame matches the key value, controlling transmission of the frame to the downstream device according to the action specified by the flow control rule.

  • Patent number: 8855035
Abstract: A subscription to a service provided in a communication network is managed by a first terminal. The communication network includes a second terminal, and the service includes transmission of digital information. An access is capable of obtaining a maximum rising throughput value allocated to the first terminal and a descending throughput value allocated to the second terminal. On the access of the network, an access request is received for subscribing the second terminal to the service provided by the first terminal. Then, a decision about access to or refusal of subscription of the second terminal is made on the basis of the maximum rising throughput value allocated to the first terminal and on the basis of the descending throughput value allocated to the second terminal. And finally, a response indicating the decision is sent.

  • Patent number: 8838784
Abstract: System and method for capturing, analyzing, and accessing application level activity and other user information on a mobile data network based on various privacy controls. A platform non-intrusively and transparently monitors data activity on a mobile data network in real-time. The platform comprises collectors, data managers, and a reports manager. The collectors capture information from routers and correlate IP addresses with phone numbers. The collectors retain data allowed by a set of capture filter rules. Data managers receive the retained data and augment it with additional information. A set of usage filter rules determines the communications and additional information that can go to each data manager for use in real-time reports on aggregated usage of the network. The report manager works with the data manager to provide real-time reports to an operator. A set of access usage rules determines the reports that the operator can access.

  • Patent number: 8824411
Abstract: Various method and apparatus embodiments for adjusting control loop parameters for wireless communication link are disclosed. The adjustments may be performed responsive to a single radio UE tuning away from a first network to a second network, or due to a fading condition. Responsive to detecting the tuning away of the UE or the fading condition, the base station may adjust one or more parameters of a control loop. The adjustments may include changing parameters of one or more filters in the BS. For example, a block error rate (BLER) first state can be reset to a small value, or can be incrementally adjusted responsive to detecting discrete transmissions (DTX) or other signals from the UE. In another example, BLER filter coefficients may be updated responsive to DTX detections.
