  • Patent number: 8631090
Abstract: A method for delivering data to a mobile device can begin with determination of the need to transmit data to a client application installed upon a mobile device by a provider in response to the occurrence of a predefined event. A session initiation protocol (SIP) message encapsulating the data can then be addressed to the mobile device using a static, unique identifier of the mobile device. The static, unique identifier can be acquired during registration of the mobile device for the service and can be electronically coupled with a hardware component of the mobile device. The SIP message can be conveyed to the Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) of an IP-based mobile communications network via a dedicated communications mechanism where it can be routed based on the static, unique identifier.

  • Patent number: 8599834
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for manual ring-down communication using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). A first SIP user agent transmits a message to a second SIP user agent over an Internet Protocol (IP) network to establish a SIP session. The first SIP user agent determines that a signal key associated with a first communication device has been selected and transmits, to the second SIP user agent over the IP network, a start event message to cause a second communication device to activate an alert. The first SIP user agent determines that the signal key has been released and transmits over the IP network an end event message to deactivate the alert. The first SIP user agent transmits, to the second SIP user agent over the IP network, one or more subsequent INVITE messages at a predetermined repetition rate to refresh the SIP session.

  • Patent number: 8595291
Abstract: Disclosed herein are computer systems and computer implemented methods for mirroring server-side data hierarchy on a client. The methods involve sending or receiving a request for a instructions to be executed on the client; determining that the webpage requires a mirrored structure to be created on the client side; and receiving or delivering computer instructions, wherein the computer instructions comprise information that, when executed, create a client-side data hierarchy on the client, the client-side data hierarchy mirroring the server-side data hierarchy. The server-side data hierarchy may be a tree data structure and further comprises: a plurality of server-side nodes, each node comprising substantially independent functionality. The client-side data hierarchy mirroring the server-side data hierarchy comprises a plurality of client-side nodes, wherein each client-side nodes corresponds with one of the plurality of server-side nodes.

  • Patent number: 8593948
Abstract: A first network device 71 and a second network device 72 transmits a test frame and its response frame therebetween. The first network device 71 acquires a test frame transmission start time, a response frame reception completion time, a test frame reception completion time, and a response frame transmission start time, and calculates, based on the times thus acquired, a PAUSE frame action delayed period that indicates a time period required for a PAUSE frame transmitted from the first network device 71 to actually act on the second network device 72, and sends from the first network device 71 to the second network device 72 a PAUSE frame in which a time period calculated based on the PAUSE frame action delayed period is set as a PAUSE period in order to prevent shortage of a receive buffer 244 in the first network device 71 from causing a loss of frames transmitted from the second network device 72.

  • Patent number: 8489724
Abstract: Round-trip time (RTT) for communication between an edge point of presence (POP) in a content delivery network (CDN) and a local domain name server (LDNS) is determined by resolution of a canonical name (CNAME) record. A first server in a first edge POP in a CDN receives a request to resolve a domain name from a LDNS and transmits a CNAME record including a timestamp indicating when the CNAME record was transmitted to the LDNS. The first server subsequently receives a request from the LDNS to resolve the CNAME record and determines a RTT time indicating the time needed for round-trip transmission between the LDNS and the first server based on the time when the request to resolve the CNAME request was received by the first server and the time indicated by the timestamp.
