Patent number: 10375534Abstract: Techniques for transmitting and sharing a video sequence over an ultra-low bandwidth channel, such as a short message service (SMS) channel, are disclosed herein. A video is segmented into regions of various interest levels. A set of parameters is developed from a video region of a high interest, wherein the parameters represent a mapping function of a database to model the video region. The set of parameters is transmitted over the ultra-low bandwidth channel to a remote device, wherein the remote device also has access to an instance of the database. The remote device synthesizes the video by using the mapping function of the database, which is represented by the transmitted set of parameters.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2011Date of Patent: August 6, 2019Assignee: Seyyer, Inc.Inventor: Behrooz Rezvani

Patent number: 10366496Abstract: The invention relates generally to edge detection and presentation in thermal images. Infrared and visible light images comprising at least partially overlapping target scenes are analyzed. An edge detection process is performed on the visible light image to determine which pixels represent edges in the target scene. A display image is generated in which some pixels include infrared image data and in which pixels corresponding to edges in the visible light image include a predetermined color and do not include corresponding infrared image data to emphasize edges. Edge pixels in the display image can include exclusively the predetermined color, or in some examples, a blend of a predetermined color and visible light image data. Methods can include replacing one or the other of visible light edge pixels or corresponding infrared pixels with the predetermined color before combining the visible light and infrared image data to create a display image.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2018Date of Patent: July 30, 2019Assignee: Fluke CorporationInventors: Peter A. Patent number: 10298901Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for synchronous playback by multiple smart devices, and an apparatus. A first device acquires frame synchronization information at intervals of a preset time, and sends the frame synchronization information to one or more second devices, where the frame synchronization information is frame information of a frame to be played by the first device or frame information of a frame that the first device starts to play currently; and after learning the frame synchronization information sent by the first device, the second device adjusts frame resources played by itself. Because the multiple smart devices that perform synchronous playback are generally in one local area network, a transmission delay of frame information from the first device to the second device can be ignored, thereby improving a synchronization effect among the multiple smart devices.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 2014Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yangpo Xu, Xin Liu, Peiyun Di

Patent number: 8224159Abstract: A data accessing and reproducing apparatus and method that permits a user to selected desired video clips and perform editing on the clips such that the time needed to display a thumbnail representation is minimized. In an edit mode, thumbnail pictures are arranged and displayed in the order of which edit results are reproduced. These thumbnails may be, for example, a lower resolution, proxy representation of the audio or video data. When data of thumbnail pictures are read from a disc, the data are read in the order of which they have been recorded. The order of which thumbnail pictures are displayed on the screen is different from the order of which they are arranged on the screen, and thus, the seek time for the disc becomes the shortest. Thus, the thumbnail pictures can be displayed at high speed.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2005Date of Patent: July 17, 2012Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Masaki Hirose, Motohiro Terao, Takashi Furukawa, Hisao Tanaka
