  • Patent number: 8131207
Abstract: A system for processing data in a ubiquitous home network is provided. The system uses RF signals based on combination of the remote-controller and the ubiquitous sensor network (USN) technologies and integrally controls a plurality of control targets. Although the remote-controller is spaced relatively far apart from the control targets, the system can control the control targets only if the spaced distance is within the range of an RF signal. As well, the system can automatically control the control targets based on the information detected by the respective sensor nodes.

  • Patent number: 8126499
Abstract: Systems, methodologies, and devices are described that employ indicators related to a parameter value(s) associated with a neighbor cell to facilitate communication by a mobile device in a network. The mobile device optionally can read a parameter value associated with a detected neighbor cell, and can provide, to the serving base station, signal strength information and indicator information that indicates whether, the mobile device read the parameter value. The serving base station can select a cell to which the mobile device is to be communicatively connected based in part on evaluating the received information. If a parameter value is not read by the mobile device, the serving base station can request the parameter value from a neighbor cell. The neighbor cell can provide a one-to-one indicator to indicate when a specified parameter value is to be applied with regard to a particular base station.

  • Patent number: 8099042
Abstract: A cooperative communication scheme is provided for a base station (BS) to communicate with a mobile station (MS) through a group of relay stations (RSs). The RSs, collectively referred to as a relay-associated group of RSs (R-group), serve the same target MS. The R-group may be formed during initial ranging or during periodical ranging of the MSs, according to the channel conditions between the MSs and the RSs. A reliable relay-associated transmission scheme provides fast recovery and reduces the burden on the BS. In one exemplary scheme, the BS transmits data to the R-group. To ensure that reliable transmission exists between the BS and the R-group, the BS initially sends the information to all the RSs in the R-group using multicast or unicast mode.

  • Patent number: 8078115
Abstract: During a communication, the radio connection quality is measured so as to detect and store a generation time, an end time, and a continuation time of quality degradation. Upon a communication end, the end cause is judged. If the communication end is caused by a user operation, a causal connection between the communication end and the quality degradation is judged according to temporal relationship between the generation time of the quality degradation and the communication end time. That is, it is judged whether the communication end caused by the user operation is a phenomenon that the user has terminated the communication because of the communication quality degradation or other reason. Thus the communication end reasons are divided into at least two types and accumulated.
