  • Patent number: 7204114
Abstract: A method of progressive hydro-forming of a tubular member includes the steps of positioning a tubular member between open die halves mating with one another to define a first tubular cavity portion in a first stage. The method also includes the steps of progressively closing the die halves and applying hydraulic pressure to expand and conform the tubular member to the first tubular cavity portion in the first stage. The method includes the steps of positioning the expanded tubular member in a second tubular cavity portion in a second stage and progressively closing the die halves to progressively deform the expanded tubular member within the second tubular cavity portion. The method includes the steps of applying hydraulic pressure to expand and conform the expanded tubular member to the second tubular cavity portion in the second stage.

  • Patent number: 7197910
Abstract: In a die cushion apparatus, a pressurizing force acting on a die cushion pad is applied to a first piston of a hydraulic cylinder unit by the operation of a slide, the first piston slides inside a first cylinder and pressure oil in a first hydraulic chamber is pressurized. The first hydraulic chamber is linked to a second hydraulic chamber of a booster cylinder unit via a second check valve, so that the pressure oil of the first hydraulic chamber is pushed out into the second hydraulic chamber. When the pressure of the first hydraulic chamber is applied to a second piston, the second piston slides inside the second cylinder and gas of a gas pressure chamber is compressed, whereby a surge pressure is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7195041
Abstract: A tie wrench for bending mounting clips to secure a fence wire to a fence post is disclosed. The tie wrench utilizes a hook that is positioned beneath the fence wire but above an outer portion of the mounting clip. The tie wrench is pulled toward the user to twist and secure the outer portion of the clip and the fence wire to the fence post. The other side of the clip is engaged and deformed in a similar manner by a flared and scalloped finger that protrudes from the blade body of the tool. The large bend in the blade coupled with the small recess adjacent the exterior corner of the device seats the fence wire and produces a fencing tool that is easier and quicker to use compared to prior art devices.

  • Patent number: 7185680
Abstract: The cable tie tool has a variable trigger linkage which is supported within a tool handle by a connection thereto. The trigger linkage is coupled to a lever and movable between open and closed positions such that moving the trigger linkage from the open to closed positions causes the lever to pivot from neutral to tensioned positions. The trigger linkage engages the lever alternatively at near or distant positions thereon to couple the trigger linkage to the lever such that, when a uniform force is applied to the trigger linkage for movement thereof from the open to closed positions, the engagement at the distant position results in the force applied to the tool head by the lever being greater than the force applied to the tool head by the lever which results from the engagement at the near position.

  • Patent number: 7181946
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to configure a device for winding and unwinding partly rolled products, in a way that ensures the smallest possible accumulation of scrap. To achieve this, a roller (20, 20?, 20?) whose position is controlled and which runs on the periphery of the coil is used during the transfer of the coils from the winding station to the unwinding station. The vertical adjustment of said roller ensures that the coil is completely unwound, even with a diminishing coil diameter.

  • Patent number: 7171839
Abstract: A method of progressive die stamping manufacturing a biopsy forceps jaw comprising the steps of cutting a sheet of metal into a strip. The strip of metal may then be punched with a series of guide holes. A shape larger than a pattern of the biopsy forceps jaw may then be defined in the strip of metal. An actuating hole may be punched into the shape. A concave shaped cup portion of the biopsy forceps jaw may be drawn. The pattern of the biopsy forceps jaw may then be cut to expose a cutting edge and exposed edges of the pattern. The cutting edge can be coined to provide a hardened, sharp, cutting edge. The exposed edges may be chamfered and then the pattern may be folded and shaped to form a biopsy forceps jaw cup and an arm positioned relative to the biopsy forceps jaw cup. A pivot hole may then be punched into the arm. The biopsy forceps jaw may then go through a calibration so that the cutting edge is in a plane perpendicular to a plane of the arm. The jaw cup may then be cut off of the strip of metal.

  • Patent number: 7168284
Abstract: A system for forging a rack bar from a blank pipe. A blank pipe 1 is held between dies 2 and 3. Stockers 7L and 7R are arranged on respective sides of the die set. In the stockers 7L and 7R, left-handed shuttles 6L1, 6L2, 6L3, . . . 6Ln and right-handed shuttles 6R1, 6R2, 6R3 . . . 6Rn are stored. First, a left-handed presser rod 5L inserts the shuttles 6L1 to the blank pipe from the left-handed stocker 7L. Then, a right-handed presser rod 5R inserts the shuttles 6R1 to the blank pipe from the right-handed stocker 7R, causing the shuttles 6L1 to be entrained and returned to the left-handed stocker 7L. Vertical shift movement is alternately executed between the left-handed and right-handed stockers 7L and 7R, so that a shuttle of step-likely increased working height is selected for executing a working process.

  • Patent number: 7143791
Abstract: A single piece wire winding tool for winding a first part of a wire about a second part of the wire while providing a loop in the wire intermediate the first and second wire parts. One of the contemplated uses is that of making wire leaders for fishing tackle. The tool has a longitudinal axis, a slotted end defined by cheeks with their inner surfaces being the sided of the slot, and a hole formed with its axis perpendicularly skew to the tool's longitudinal axis and extending through the cheeks and therefore opening through the slot. The method aspect of the invention relates to the manner of using the tool to accomplish the desired winding of the wire. The wire to be wound has the first part laid in the slot and extending beyond the slot to provide the remainder of a leader. The second wire part is inserted through the hole and extends for a relatively short distance beyond the hole.
